You better come to terms with it because he has to. I think it's unreasonable that he'll be crucified for something that can't be helped. 😵‍💫 It's not like he's in control of how the producers choose the show to be structured.

I suspect that he may have fallen for 1 girl a while back but the show demands he keeps up the charade of being interested in the others so the producers have enough material for the remainder of the episodes. In other words he's just fulfilling the contract he signed up to along with the girls.

From my experience watching the US versions the guys can get as bitchy as the girls do as well so I'm sure there's going to be plenty of entertaining drama.

Haha yeah like that guy with the bird!! I guess it will be interesting comparing guys vs girls as far as how competitive they get, how they approach competition etc. And also how they go not having "the power" in a dating scenario. Maybe I'm looking for too much psychology from a dating show though!!

Yeah you're right, it is strange. I wonder if there's an evolutionary drive there or something. I can say confidently that the typical look I am attracted to looks nothing like me. And lol yes going for someone who looks like a parent is all kinds of messed up, but funny to observe.

What about going for someone that has like the same personality traits as their parents? Is that equally disturbing?

All I will in his defense is that guys generally aren't used to being in the position of letting a girl know they're not interested all that often as it's usually the other way around. 😇

Girls irl though normally don't hold back in being blunt about telling guys who approach them that they don't fancy them straight away. Some princesses can be brutal and derive some enjoyment from humiliating a guy who had the temerity to think they had a chance with her. lol 👹

It could be why he's being clumsy and thus coming across as douchy. He lacks the emotional intelligence and experience to do it tactfully, like most guys really. 😔

I meant it in the sense that the girls surely have their own dubious morally questionable reasons/agenda, other than finding love, for going on the show. In reality all of them are getting something out of the 'experience'. I don't believe any of them are 'victims' or worthy of sympathy for not being picked by the bach. They knew exactly what they were getting into.

I don't really care whether you or any other poster criticizes the bachie tbh. All I'm doing is pointing out the way 1 traffic in terms of 'critiquing' and that I find the double standard funny.

Everything the bachie does is dissected and he's instantly blasted for being this and that. Whereas the female themselves who are unashamedly throwing themselves at him can apparently do no wrong. 🤣

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. The bachie isn't this 100% villanous insensitive douche and the girls aren't these perfect little damsels either. :)

Imagine the crap SamFrost is going to cop by the end of the show - because by end of the show there'll be women drolling over their favourite bachelors and she's going to cop some pretty nasty labelling on SM for sure

Well it depends. It actually makes sense to gravitate towards this, your relationship with your parents is your first "model" of love so is likely to dictate future relationships in some way. But ok, going for someone who is, eg, sweet and nurturing like your mother is probably ok but going for someone bossy/distant/angry etc like a parent is probably bad. Basically if it's good things you're replicating then it's ok, otherwise it's not, but the latter isn't as disturbing as going for physical traits.

Remember when we talked about Freud? He had lots to say on this matter. Oedipus and Electra complex especially.

In the paper today she says not to expect an engagement at the end of the series which I take it to mean the guy she ends up picking in the end doesn't turn out be the 'one'. lol

Or.. and more likely... they guy she picks at the end is the one she wants to be with and they begin their relationship outside the house like normal people getting to know each other..

But yeah it's also that familiarity and I think because the partner will share the same values on which you grew up to, so it makes sense that you would get along with someone who shares traits as your parents.
