Tahan VS Mikkayla

Lol Jazz is a stupid idiot! She was nothing but a bully herself!!! What a hypocrite to say they are bullies when she and Heidi had their own 'bitchy' thing going on. Plus she was about as interesting as a rock! So glad both ugly women got out!!! :)
Yep I agree! She can say all she wants but there is a reason she left early on in the game. I wouldn't trust Heidi, jasmine or Sharon. From early on they had an agenda against jade. Mind you the girls have only been really close as of late. There was a time tully and jade were close at the beginning. It's a cheap shot from jasmine. Just because now the girls are the stronger force because everyone else has been evicted making them the strongest group she now implies this has always been the case where they target tahan? Like I said, there is a reason jasmines group left one by one, soon ed will be following their footsteps

As a fan of both mikkayla and tahan, which makes me less bias I suppose- I don't think it is fair to say Mikkayla is a racist because she hates being Asian. Also I think Tahan can be upset by what mikkayla said. I think some of you like tahan or mikkayla so passionately that you can't even try and understand the difficulty of their own situations.

I find it very interesting the at the end of his/her posts that is being condsending to other posters is always the LOL. Much like how Jade accused Tahan of laughing at the end of saying something mean in order to 'cover it' many weeks ago. Seems they are more like the person they hate, then the person they are fighting tooth and nail to defend.

Or maybe the Tahan supporter are just unintentional funny! Like some kind of comedy routine! :D

Yes you'd be right.
I should point out that I'm not that much of a Tahan fan, but I don't think it's fair how she's painted as this demon, there's two sides to a story.

But I'm not a Tahan supporter, so you basically attack and say condescending things to anyone that doesn't have the exact same opinion on Mikkayla as yourself.

lol, dont worry, if you have a French accent the vast majority of men will find you extra attractive :)

I know and that's all they see :(

I truly hate my accent, I am trying so hard to lose it, but the r is just impossible to pronounce the way you do.

I love people from English speaking country, trying to speak French. The accent is so sexy.

I think there is a point were you just have to accept that Tahan's interpretation was wrong.

OK, now you have corrected the word - but still. What are you talking about?
Tahan interpreting what?
Still don't get the point of your post

I can speak french, just sayin'!;)

I think you are lucky that you can speak both languages. I think it is a beautiful quality and it gives you an advantage to communicate with a different culture and be part of another culture. Embrace your accent and love that it makes you unique to an English person. If people only see the accent than they are not really seeing the bigger picture.

Now that's just silly! lol :)
French women probably have the sexiest accent on the planet!

i had to spend 12 months learning Japanese in first year high school... all these years later all I remember is that "pen" in English = "pen" in Japanese. Parents money well spent

No, they don't. Sometimes I want to scream and say, that's not all I am. I am grateful though to be in Australia, my family moved back to France but I staid :)

It was to do with Tahan's interpretation of Mikkayla's comment about how she doen't like being labeled as Asian (considering she grew up in Australia). Tahan interpreted this as Mikkayla being racist, when what Mikkayla meant was that she didn't like be judged differently to other people just because she looked Asian.

The reality is that a lot of people in Australia see Asian people as foreigners that don't speak English very well and Asian people are often victims of racism. I can imagine that this would be very frustrating for some one that grew up in Australia and the lack of understanding from someone like Tahan and others is not surprising.

Tahan made the comment about her thinking Mikkayla was racist long before this conversation happened. Tahan was referring to the fake voice and mannerisms Mikkayla was putting on in the house. I think you maybe a little mixed up on the timeline there.

I think the only thing I have seen that could be deemed as racist is the way Heidi spoke to Mikkayla in the gym that time, it was filled with nothing but venom.

Nah that's because I was explaining about how Tahan could be offended about what Mikkayla said about wanting to be white, hating being asian sometimes etc etc.

Tahan's entitled to feel disappointed and upset that someone isn't embracing their ethnicity and heritage the way she has.

Calling Mikkayla "racist" is still inaccurate and misrepresentative of what Mikkayla has been saying. End of story.

Tahan grew up in one of the largest indigenous families in Darwin. She's been blessed to have an upbringing where she's surrounded by a large extended family who shares her bloodline and her heritage. That's something Mikkayla has not had in her upbringing. Tahan has no doubt experienced racism, but she will never understand how it feels to be 'othered' even when looking around at your own family. It's a shame Tahan isn't more perceptive and can't appreciate why Mikkayla is struggling with this. That's one of Tahan's biggest flaws, and it's actually something she shares with Tully. They both think that if someone don't respond to something the way they do, there's something wrong with that person or they're wrong for their thoughts/reactions. Tahan isn't able to look at this situation and understand why Mikkayla might feel the way she does. Tahan's mind just goes: "This person feel this way, and I do not. Therefore this person is wrong/stupid/horrible/racist/oversensitive/etc etc."

great post.

i do think the key to understanding where Mikkayla's hate for being asian comes from her being raised by caucasian parents, as des moines perceptively picked up. To be physically different from even or should I say especially your parents and growing up in a predominantly white community must have been difficult.

Mikkayla putting on a stereotypical Asian voice is no more racist than an Astralian comedian mimicking a stereotypical Aussie bloke. There is a gap between mimicking an accent and actual racism that is as big as the Grand Canyon!

Tahan said to Big Brother that "Mikkayla was the biggest racist she had ever seen!" and then they showed the clip of Mikkayla saying that she didn't like to be judged as Asian. Clearly, Tahan was not thinking straight when she said "Mikkayla was the biggest racist she had ever seen!" and had ulterior motives when she was saying it.

My sister once said "i don't like bogans", i guess that makes her racist against Australians also ...
STOP BLOWING SHIT OUT OF PROPORTION!!! there's nothing Mik has said that's racist, and everything she's said has been about HERSELF anyway. Lets bring some context and civility back to this -- racism should not be an issue, because only some peanuts here are bringing it up trying to make it an issue -- Mik never did.
