EVICTED Big Brother housemate Katie Schepis has labelled producers of the show “cruel” for orchestrating a stunt involving her father, which left her sobbing hysterically.
The 25-year-old Sydney nanny went to pieces on Tuesday night when the house received a phone call from her father Andrew.
Footage of the incident aired during
last night’s episode, in which a sobbing Schepis could be seen crying and shaking uncontrollably.
“It was a bit mean — it was cruel,” she said of the incident today.

The call was never going to be a heartfelt catch-up though — Schepis was told by
Big Brother that she could chat to her beloved dad, but that the house would fail its weekly task if she did.
This week’s yes-no challenge sees housemates confronted with various choices - if they answer yes, they pass. The punishment for saying no is the loss of the house food budget.

“Oh my God, it’s mortifying. I haven’t seen it and I don’t know if I want to. I’m mortified. We had just come from the snap eviction. It wasn’t good timing.
“It was awful. It was extreme. I think it was just as hard on dad as it was on me. He heard me wailing in the background.”

Schepis said she and her father, who’s a Uniting Church reverend, are “incredibly close” and speak for an hour or more every day on the phone.
Not being able to see him while she was in the Gold Coast compound was the biggest challenge of her stay, she said.
GEMMA’S EXIT: Viewers slam Big Brother’s first eviction and label it ‘humiliating’
“I often felt upset (in the house) that I needed him to console me at times, give me advice and all those other great things that dads do.
“They (the producers) knew that of course, the cheeky buggers.”

Apart from being “pretty embarrassed” by her emotional response, Schepis said she feels “really, really good” today and is looking forward to catching up with her dad.
On being the third evicted from the Big Brother house, she felt “ready to go” and had mentally prepared herself to be booted out.
“I won prize money, I got so much out of the experience and it doesn’t even end here — there’s so much stuff to do. I’m excited.”
Big Brother airs on Channel Nine at 8.40pm.
