Even Boog, Jazz and NicckEd showed up for the event but no Tully, not good for her career (aside from whatever can be assumed about the status of their relationship).

Had she said previously that she was going? Because if not I don't see what the issue is? It looks like it's just a thing for Melbourne HMs?

I wonder if people from England mind when you call them poms? Or at least I think thats what you call them, lol.

I hope I didn't offend you either, but what's done is done. :)

Anyway about the Brits, I'm pretty sure calling them a winging pom is an insult, but pom is OK? anyone else know?

Looks like Tahan is trying to make her way to this event too

Tahan Lew Fatt ‏@TahnyLew 4m

Oh my Melbourne airport is a nightmare right now!!

Was she already in Melbourne? If she was then she isn't going to the polo. Portsea is in Victoria, you don't need to fly there. It's across the bay from Melbourne and it only takes about an hour and a half to drive there.

I'm not sure where Tahan was. Not sure if she is coming or going? I thought she might be arriving to go to the party.

Yeah, as a Southerner I don't like being called a Yank. Which is Yankee, which are people from the northern states. If you visit the south and someone calls you that, it is NOT a compliment...But I've noticed that most other countries call us that and you can usually tell by what they're saying if they meant to offend or not, so I try to ignore it, but I do notice it and cringe a bit.

I cringe when I'm called an 'Aussie', so it seems we all have weak spots.

Jo-bot, thank you. I do understand it is not meant to offend...again, just hoping a little knowledge will help change us to "americans" one person at a time. As I was trying to just enlighten and not get deep, I'm glad some looked things up...hopefully they will see why being called a yank, which are those who tried and managed to take all we (Cherokees, and Confederates to an extent) had, destroy our homelands and kill masses of us. btw thanks Yank for the support of a southerner...giggle. Americans united

I notice a few pages ago, that someone said most Australians don't know about the Civil War and precisely who the Yankees were...I'm hoping that's not true. But seriously, Yank may be kinder than Texan from many (left leaning) Australians. I think Yanks is actually dying out though. My dad was alive during WWII and he uses it. The next generation/s doesn't seem to use it, or at least not the people I know.

As I am the person who inadvertently started the whole "yankee" thing I have to say as an Australian I know that the people from the north were the Yankees and the people from the south were the Confederate Army.

Sorry sorry, just saw this one and no you did not offend me, I knew you didn't mean it in a bad way at all. No worries and thanks. :)

I knew immediately that you didn't mean anything by it, I just wanted you to understand that most of us would prefer to simply be called Americans.

TullyLovesDrew and Sparrow11 thank you for understanding. I've been accused by a member on here (who currently does not post) of being Anti-American, which I am not. So I'm happy you guys don't think that as well.
