Can't stay long in here today... Have groceries to do #Coles and need to wash my hair #garnier. Not sure whether to go with my #Targetteeandjeans or #Bigwshortsnsinglet...Hope the old #Toyota makes it, need petrol #Shell... ;-)

I was just reading the #BBAU tweets and people are correcting Tim for calling Alex the Man Behind Big Brother, saying who does all the voices for BB. God people are stupid. Anyone with half a brain could of seen that Tim did not mean the voice behind BB but the main producer.

wylie There are other yanks on here, Sparrow11 and TullyLovesDrew comes to mind. I can understand that it may be hard to join in here, but we are all nice people (mostly) and would love another person to talk to on here!

@InigoMontoya...yes, i know...there are lots of people from the US. I hope this won't sound rude, but as i try and learn about your country, I'm going to share something about ours...we are not all yanks. We are all Americans, and blessed to be a huge melting pot of countless cultures from all over the world, but also of our own regions in the US...Southerners, Northerners, Midwest, etc. I myself am of Cherokee decent, a Texan, had relatives that fought in the Confederate army (against the "yanks"). I'm proud to be an American with all of our diversities, cultures, traditions, etc that make us to country we are...so calling us that, opposed to "yanks", would cover who we all truly are.

Now i probably stirred some pot....yikes!

You didn't stir the pot....

Aussies call Americans Yanks. Why I don't know. America yes does have a lot of different cultures and nationalities living there just like most western countries that have adopted multiculturalism. Which is great. Sorry if I offended you by using the word yanks. I did not meant to.

I agree, I didn't care for being classified as a "Yank". I don't think Inigo meant anything by it but, I imagine there are terms that people refer to Australians as that don't sit well and I think we would prefer to be referred to as Americans.

IMO him using Yanks wasnt meant as offensive....I've never taken offense to it...and I live in the US...

I just did a quick Google search on why Aussies call American Yanks and from my very quick search it seems that during WW2 when the Americans were helping us fight the Japanese in the pacific and help keep the Japanese from invading Australia. Aussies adopted the word Yank (in a good way) and since then it has just become part of the Aussie language. I'm sure if I looked up more information there might be other reason, but I really can't be bothered.

And BBfanjake I'm a female LOL.
