Am I the only one who's kind of creeped out by baby corn?

It is a little creepy. I remember learning in school that it's the size (or only a little smaller) than corn used to be before we domesticated the shit out of it. I never used to like it, but have grown fond of the taest, but I have to have it cut up really small and almost raw, or else it's rubbery and icky.

Don't really see the point of pak choi most of the time. May as well have proper broccoli

Mmm. It's good in stir-frys though. Again cut up small though, it can be kinda stringy. I'd rather broccolini.

Hahahaha, bleachy - we all finally agree that we aren't fussed on Biebs and you have to mix it up. Love ya. To quote the great thinker of our time, one Ed Lower #stunning #amazing #fashion #randomrubbish

This close delcan... This close! Lol. Randomrubbish made up for it :p

Yeah I can only imagine what's going through her mind. Although I found that article hilarious for so many reasons, it really struck me when all of the crap he has done this year was laid out in a paragraph and then to read in the comments about him and his buddies spitting on girls from their balcony. I think of someone like Justin Timberlake - who admittedly wasn't as big as Bieber in his teens but then again we didn't have social media back then either so it's hard to truly compare - and how we never heard any of that crap about him. Or even the guys in One Direction who continue to sell out their concerts instantly while Bieber still had tickets left for his Melbourne show last night. They've surpassed him now but from all accounts they're professional and are very lovely to their fans. Hopefully someone steps in and helps the guy out soon because he's started to take a nosedive in the public eye and it's extremely difficult to rebound from that once you hit rock bottom and your tween fans have grown up and moved on.

He could do a Britney? Become so crazy where everyone wants to see you succeed? I'm not meaning this in a horrible way, but as humans, we do tend to forgive those that have crashed and burn so bad, that it's almost like a human reaction to see them better themselves. But with Britney, she really did get diagnosed with a mental issue so that's why I and many felt sorry for her.

If you ever compare me to Ed lower again...

bleachy_dude you're a Belieber aren't you? Or am I confusing you with someone else? I'm pretty sure I saw you mention a few times that you watched his doco and then became a fan of his. If it wasn't you then to whomever it was... I recorded that bloody thing last week solely on your recommendation so if I end up hating it, I'm coming for you! (Or you bleachy if it was you haha)

BAHAHAAAAAA delcan!

And yep, that's me :). I'm a proud belieber. I'm not saying he isn't being a twat at the moment. But watching that movie made me realise how talented he is and also gave me some perspective of the massive pressure on him

I think the fact that One Direction are a group helps them. It's another version of a team.

Bleachy dude, I watched it too. That's why I'm giving him the benefit in regards to his actions. He still does a lot of good things too.

No, the queen agrees…that's how he scored that 'sir'. Her hand didn't even tremble when she signed the page ;)

Lol! And it had nothing to do with his groupie, Tony Blair (who apparently held some title of significance himself) wearing her majesty down for 5 years! Lol!

I don't know! It's little and cute and all, but I just find the whole idea of it somehow off-putting. It's the Bieber of vegetables.

I don't like baby corn either, although the only ones I have ever had were from a can, so that might be it. But I always remove them from my soups or dishes. Argh no thank you

But I think it's important to remember back then social media wasn't what it was today. The need for big stars or actually any stars information puts them in the spotlight like never before. It's a different world these young stars live in.

yes it sure is ... but they're growing up with it - they don't know any different world so social media is the norm for them - rather than some new thing that we've seen come about and explode in the last decade ... they use it to their benefit but it can also be their downfall ... they are a lot more savvy with it ... its their reality ... celebrities are not the only ones to feel the weight of it ...

its just a generational change

think of the generations before ... news exchanged by word of mouth or passed on by letter ... then newspapers ... then radio ... then television ... each successive generation has had a different challenge in the way we communicate ... the older generations always looking at the new a little warily at first but coming round to accept it whilst those that grew up with it just accept it as the norm and move forward ..

its not like anyone can escape social media and the impact it has ... we can stick our head in the sand and say "i dont use it" "i dont have one" "i dont want one" but it doesn't mean in some shape or another it doesn't have an affect on our lives

I swear if you don't remove that soapbox you're going to regret it tonight ... not sure what's gotten into me tonight!!! lol

(sorry everyone!!)

Liz's friend Tony, the coiner of the the 'People's Princess'? Now I bet that made her hand tremble.

I swear some of you are so knowledgable, prufrock, especially you, with some of your conversations that I sometimes feel intimidated. Not in a bad way, just want to state that, but I feel like I should watch more documentaries and read more and pay attention to the news much more than I do. I find myself researching some of the things you guys bring up so it is a good thing. But geez, I've realised i don't know a lot of things lol.
