I think she sees some of Ed's flaws but want the Fairy Tale so bad that she overlooks them (look what kind of movies she owns)

Good point. I do think she wants the fairy tale too but I do feel she wants to be rescued from her life. I think that's what frustrates me.

At least that I can comprehend doing without shoes on. :D

I'm with you all the way on the wearing of shoes into stores and off the sand ... the asphalt in the carpark at the beach is always a killer - why would you want to burn your feet like that?

I was always made to cover up if I was even just going along the beach to the icecream stand/store near the surf club ...

sadly reading this puts me off wanting to go ... well that and the Walmartians emails I keep getting :S

Funny enough, I have never really been scared over there, I have been to almost every state, and only once did I feel scared when we arrived in town late and punched in fast food in the GPS. The closest one was not in an area that we felt welcome, in fact when we walked in the whole restaurant just stopped and stared and we slowly backed out....I think it only hits home when you see the guns on open display, otherwise you don't think about it, plus we keep on the right side of town...lol

IMO Tim and Jade would be a terrible match. Her view of the perfect future is white picket fences and a 1950's housewife life with the perfect husband, and probably kids to match, whereas Tim is a genuine free spirit and I really can not see him being anywhere near happy in that world.

I know it's probably not all that interesting to everyone but I was looking through some instagram accounts when I found this on one of Tahlia's friend's accounts (I've removed the person's username but left Tahlia's comment there):

How about this?

ROTF but you know that's going to keep going round in my head now ...

earlier this week I was talking to French co-worker about a nursery rhyme/song I learned to sing in French lessons ... she didn't know it so I youtubed it for her ... different melody but even just remembering only the first couple of lines ... those lines are going round and round in my head now!!! I think I scared her though - she thinks I remember more French than I've let on ;)

<keeping her on her toes ;)

Seeing as it's a slow night here: what freaked me out after the Sandy Hook tragedy was that people were suggesting teachers should carry weapons. I can't begin to say what an appalling suggestion I thought that was.

Oh goodness! Awful, just an awful suggestion! Encouragement of carrying guns rather than the damage if them is so two steps back.

and the poor girl's friends will keep dragging stuff like that to her attention - do they honestly think they are helping her get past the hurt? they are 'enablers' ... or just plain mean enough to keep wanting to hurt her with it ...

Nothing like catchy lyrics to catch in your head :)

Yeah don't you just love it over there when your standing at a makeup counter in Macys and the lady next to you is searching through her bag and pulls out a gun and puts it on the counter, gets her wallet and then just puts the gun back in.....I go to the US twice a year and still it freaks me out...lol..

That's amusing and terrifying all at once.

I am constantly surprised by what is done in the name of friendship, usually accompanied by "He/she deserved to know".

kinda of like the feeling when you walk into a pub in a verrrrry quiet country town ... and the entire population of the town is there and they all stop talking to take a good long look at the city girl who just wandered in ... being a female sales rep and driving around some rural areas made solo meal times a little daunting at times ... learnt quickly to schedule meals with clients and reroute the journey to suit :)

I think sharing the dog "Luna" is a terrible idea
what do you think?

Have you ever read/seen Wake in Fright?

eddddddsactly - she has the ability and the wherewithal to rescue herself from her life and get out there and grab the opportunities that will come her way ... if she squanders them by waiting on Ed to commit ... she'll have come away from the experience with a whole lot of regrets for the things that she let slip away out of reach because of a guy ...

she thinks he is going to be successful and she will marry him and go along for the ride

That really isn't helpful of her friends especially after the time past its time for her to move on her friends need to allow it.
It also shows their maturity level too, I kinda got the impression they were all a lot more immature than Tully and from what we have seen her friends.
It must be so awkward for those friends who have stayed mutral friends.
