Politics of Estelle and Bradley

Ah, so you DID read this: http://jonjayray.tripod.com/hitler.html and have finally realised you had been propagandized and duped by left-urdian "educators". :D

Why did it take so long though ?

Makes me wonder what are you gunna do now. Are you going to return to the convenient lie and try and forget about what you've just learned, or are you going to make a stand for the truth instead ?

LMAO the delusion is strong with this one.

LMAO the delusion is strong with this one.

Nothing is as it seems ?

Note even the post as quoted (go back and see what I mean ... I added something special for ya) ? :)

... let alone you actually reading something that would disturb the foundations of your house of cards preferred ideology, eh ?

Ok, let's try this another way. Let's see what you have by way of evidence to support your mistaken view of Hitler / Nazism being "right wing" as opposed to the extreme left-urd/ardism it actually was/is ?

Let's see if it measures up.

Trust me

Delilah joins in the final game: a trust circle. HMs have to share something they would ONLY tell someone they trust.

“Let’s just stay positive with this; I don’t think we have to go to a negative place with it,” Benjamin suggests.

Benjamin reveals he wears makeup every day, while Michael says that despite all his rhetoric, he has never voted.

Source.

Possibly a joke though.

Religion not politics, but just found this post from a few weeks back:

Straight to hell

Stacey, Zoe, Bradley, George and Michael gather in the Lounge and chat about recording ‘farewell messages’ to the House.

“I felt bad, but Estelle said she wanted to do a rap and I was like ‘yes, do it!’,” she says.

“Maybe I should do a rap,” she jokes.

The conversation turns to religion, with Bradley, Stacey and Zoe saying they’re adamant atheists.

Bradley tells a story about Ray and Sarah talking about their faith and Ray exclaiming ‘he’s such a cool God!’ and credited his prayer for landing him in the Big Brother House.

“Why would God care about Ray?” laughs Bradley. “There are millions of people starving around the world and he wants to put you in the House?!”

LOL nah I'm perfectly fine with NOT accepting sexist BS thanks. The fact Ray's constant degradation of women was making even Michael and Ben uncomfortable says to me it's pretty obvious he crossed a line.

Have to admit, that is what I picked up about Ray and George also. They actually reminded me of spotty teenage boys, trying to show how manly they were by talking about 'chicks' and who they felt was worthy of a shag from them. I never liked Ray or George as I felt they were sexists plonkers and their views of women on the whole seemed pretty dire.

"Estelle has always had an interest in politics and at the age of 18 she became part of the Socialist Alliance in Melbourne.".... found in another thread, posted by Pecan, in an article about Estelle when she was 20

Michael = what do reckon??? Shame we never get to hear discussions. He likely is swing voter/greenie, would have critical analysis of both major parties he would pontificate on..... posted by kxk...

Michael stated a couple of weeks ago he has never voted. (Doesn't automatically mean he has no opinion though)

The Dali Llama is green so how is it something to be ashamed of? I am happy to be associated with him which is just as well since I came in as green - liberal left.

I always liked the political compass, in as much as it articulates the idea that "freedom" on social issues can be seen as separate from "freedom" on economic issues.

- restrict corporations: left (out of left right)
- restrict individuals: top (out of top bottom)

a true libertarian would be bottom right - restrict nothing and no one.

a true totalitarian would be top left - restrict/control everyone.

the US is top right - free market extremism coupled with big government intrusion on the activities of your penis and vagina.

the bottom left (ie the green zone) seeks to restrict coporations but not individuals. considering that corporations, by directing the work-sum of hundreds (or thousands, or tens of thousands) of workers could do considerably more harm than an individual, it is sensible to restrict them more than people.

not surprisingly, I'm -7.5/-5 on the political compass, firmly green zone. it hasn't shifted much in the 10 or so years since I took it last.

I will note, however, that the wording on many of those questions is very poor. some statements are truisms, that you might agree with but find unpalatable (eg an advantage to a one-party system over a multi-party democracy is its efficiency), other statements are us-centric (eg charity is better than social security), while others create false dichotomies (eg the first question - economic globalisation should serve humanity not corporations... uh, how about a third choice?), or provide reasons you disagree with for unpalatable facts you do not oppose, leaving you scratching your head how to answer (eg the branding of bottled water is a sign of the apocalypse - uh, no, but i lament people buying it)... there's more examples, but suffice to say it's a shit instrument

The left and greens have to part ways for either of them to succeed.

Green is actually conservative. It seeks to conserve the status quo with respect to the environment which is wholly a conservative position.

The left normally seeks to change and is therefore limited by the conservative principle in the Green movement.

there's actually two main threads in the environmental movement: a conservationist thread and a preservationist thread.

The preservationists are actually the ones who want to keep the wilderness in its pristine condition, to be preserved for future generations to experience in their pure, unsullied glory. This would be your Waldens and Thoreaus

The conservationations are the ones who see man as a custodian of nature, managing its use whether for bird watching or logging and mining. This would be your Teddy Roosevelts and John Birches.

The former is more "conservative" in the sense of status quo, ironically enough, given the modern use of the word.

eta - I should note that this makes environmentalists more natural bedfellows for the left since policies, of either nature (*hum*), require economic (rather than social) regulation.

Two posts Estelle made on her skating forum, they don't reveal much except that she's against internet filtering and was wondering what the Sex Party was:
