OK - could be worse I suppose. I do hope similar but different is the approach they go for - I hope the producers really aim to stamp their mark on the US format by actually being creative with it, unlike Grodner and co.
I doubt it... Robyn Kass has been hired as casting director and I assume Grodner and Endemol US are pulling strings behind the scenes. Other than a few twists the show will be a virtual carbon copy of the US version. Mark my words.

Grodner would have minimal, if any, input. Certainly she may be consulted, but that's a bit like saying the producers of BB UK will control most things about the Aussie version.
Nice logo though.

Yet again you prove that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about... Out of any two versions in the world BB Canada and BB US will be very closely connected. The only reason the US production team wasn't contracted to produce the show outright has to do with Canadian Content regulations but I can assure you Allison Grodner will more than likely have a significant role in BB Canada. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if John Brunton was installed as a figurehead or Puppet EP so that the network could include BB Canada as part of it's mandatory Canadian content. However, regardless of who is in control BB Canada will deviate very little if at all from the rigid US format.

My hopes were somewhat dashed yesterday when I read about Robyn Kass being responsible for casting.
I've done a few events with Steven Daigle from BB10 and we talked a bit about the casting process. From what he says Robyn is only there to facilitate the casting process and is there (in his words) "to hold your hand" throughout the process. The decisions are all made on the production teams side and are based on what the network and production have in mind for that particular season. While Robyn might have some influence along the way from what he said it is very minimal. Hearing that I don't actually hate her as much as I did previously so that might give you some hope yet...
That being said the news of her inclusion in the series certainly gives me good reason to believe there will more staffing choices that overlap between the two shows... Especially for the first season, given that Insight have never produced a show of this magnitude before, experienced staff are within such a close reach and the two production houses already have a previous established relationship.
Are you auditioning Kingston?I doubt it... Robyn Kass has been hired as casting director and I assume Grodner and Endemol US are pulling strings behind the scenes. Other than a few twists the show will be a virtual carbon copy of the US version. Mark my words.

BTW I auditioned on Saturday and I wasn't given a callback
Unfortuantely I went in with some assumptions and before I could really think about it the audition was over... I'm thinking that given all the excitement and interest there's been in the show and the fact that Shaw Media has pumped a shitload of money into this, there will without a doubt be at least a second season. Lets just say I learned heaps from the experience and I'll do much better next year...

Why does "CANADA" have to be in the logo?
I wonder the same thing... It's often to differentiate between the American version and the Canadian one because the two shows will air on the same network. It's not really needed but virtually all the imported reality shows do it.
