Mikkayla Appreciation Thread

and it doesn't have to be Tully v Mik. I'm starting to like both. I think Xavier stabbed Mik in the back the most as did Tahan.

I agree Xavier did. But Tahan didn't vote for Mik at all (Sharon 4, Ed 1).

There was a large group in the room when this scene went down, I wish I could remember every face in the room, but Xavier was one of them I do recall. My point was that there was a lobbying that gave clear signals who to vote for and a lot of people went along with it.

It's not being discussed elsewhere and I've wanted to bring it up as it seemed to escape notice. If nominations talk is a no-no (see re Tim) then lobbying for who to cast your votes on is also.

with all the votes Mik got I thought Tahan threw some her way but yes you're right she didn't. I do agree that Tully has been gunning for Mik (not maliciously but to show she's the alpha female?)
but thought that was more the edit she got as she seemed to not be garnering support from other HMs. But you may be right given Mik got so many points from her own 'mates'. Yep i know they aren't supposed to collude etc but you'd think the ones on your side of the fence would be more empathetic and not nominate you so Tully could have messed with their heads or Mik is just simply quite bossy but I love her anyway.

I love her anyway, too. She was one of my favourites on opening night and she's one of the few who I've remained fond of, and who comes across as a real person.

Colluding on who to vote for isn't new....Estelle was last year's whipping boy, Sara Marie the first season etc.

I think Mik was an unfortunate victim of "any one but me" mentality. Once the hms established she was lowest on the pecking order in the the half way house she became the easiest target. Not that she didn't grate at times, I'm sure she did.

Mikkayla got the most nominations because Tully lobbied a group of housemates against her, after she'd got Mik to blame herself for Tully's upset over the bloody beds (she's so this, she's really loud, blah blah), and they all sat there nodding their heads and then voted for her. It was more blatant than Tim's nominations talk.

I saw this too. It was on one of the videos at the other website. Seems to have disappeared. She is one clever lady Tully. Playing the game the most and on last nights daily show told Xavier she didnt know how to play the game. I laughed so much! She made sure she spent as much time with both sides of the house and making buddies of them. The only one who has her measure is Tim! Makes for interesting viewing. They should show more of this.

Oh, thank you! I was thinking no-one will ever believe me this occurred!

Tim is very shrewd. And not shy about voicing his observations. I do hope they do show more of these things; it's the whole point of watching the show for me -the social group interaction, the manipulations, the self-deluding, the outright lies, and then the public's perception and response.

I'm with you to Melore. I also took to Mikkayla from the start. I really hope she is safe.

I really like her too, however that incessant chitter chatter would end up corroding my ear drum.

They showed part of that on the Daily show one night. Right before Tahan piped up with, "Don't take this personally but you do exactly the same things." which was one of the best moments in the show so far IMO.

That was so awesome I gave Tahan a standing ovation - who knew Tahan would be the one to shut her down like that?

Was that when it was... That was a super moment. Who'd have though Tim and Tahan would be the saviours of the human race!

Even though Mik is safe I suspect the HMs will vote for her again for being saved and Tahan now has a target on her back.

True but now Tim has gotten to know her better and the others in the half way house.
You never know what could happen between now and the time they have to vote.

Come on, this was the same disturbed nutcase that found Michael attractive!!!

Ugh, I had forgotten that visual abortion had ever existed.

Mikkayla is one of the more popular housemates outside the house - would have liked to see her nominated to see if she was most saved along with Drew. I doubt we'll have to wait too long to see just how many people like her irl.

That was the moment that made me think twice about her.

Will be interesting to see how she goes now she has some space and less stress - I think she has the potential to be quite funny, and I hope her friendship with Tim continues to blossom over that divide, 2 most honest HMS.
My perfect alliance right now is Mikki, Tim, Tahan & Drew.
