Masterchef 2023 - Series discussion

What a laugh that finale was, where do I start?
Brent cooks the same thing on the Habachi Grill he's cooked all season and the judges go ga ga over it, but hey, the bloke works for Coles, the major sponsor of Masterchef, so of course he always had an unfair advantage, and there's the mental health card too Brent's always been able to play. Surely someone getting a 2nd bite of the Masterchef cherry 2 years later shouldn't be allowed!
Rhiannon was just making up the numbers tonight, the convenient Julie Goodwin stand in, cheered on by the equally irritating obnoxious fellow bogan Cath - surely Rhi Rhi was never top 2 material, actually Rhi Rhi really wasn't top 5 material when it comes to it.
Declan tonight was like Banquo's ghost up there on the gantry, the one person who's shown some personal growth and development this season, the one contestant with genuine star quality, the one person who'll come out of this series with management deals and TV deals and advertising contracts.
What piddling amounts of cash Rhiannon and Declan got for coming 2nd and 3rd, although Declan did win that 10K Harvey Norman thing earlier in the season, some of which he spent on Uncle Robbie's birthday gift.

How they replace Jock next year, goodness knows - Shannon Bennett, Jamie Oliver if they can afford him, Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsey?

Masterchef with 614k for the finale and 698k for the winner announcement. About what I expected for such a predictable season, one thing is for sure Masterchef is no longer the juggernaut it used to be. The increase in ratings in 2020 and 2021 appears to be just a blip due to the Covid lockdowns.

Ten would be slightly disappointed with those ratings, and the result was such a foregone conclusion anyway after Theo and Declan got eliminated(either one would have given Brent a tougher time).
It was a heartfelt tribute to Jock, they did that well at the end of the program, but the final itself was rather lacklustre and lacking any drama really.
If you believe the women's mags, they have approached Jamie Oliver, Curtis Stone and Julie Goodwin to be judges in case Andy and Mel leave the program.
And, apparently Rhiannon and Cath have signed a contract with Channel 10, which involves regular Studio 10 appearances and possibly a cooking show of their own.

Thanks for the warning.

I have the mute button ready.
