Masterchef 2017

"Take that and put it back in the nineteen-eighties cookbook it came from and never open it again"
You know, I really hate food snobs. There was nothing wrong with the food of any decade, we survived.

...how friggin' rude was that for (Gary??? wasn't it?) to say that!... I would've gone and got that 1980's Margaret Fulton cookbook and would've beaten the living shit out of the snobby-arsed git if I was Ray... as with you Meglos... I so hate 'food snobs' like that... he would've been shovelling that 80's slop into his fat mouth quicker than the rest of the kids in the street at that time too the snobby twonk!...

Agree! We often have curried sausages, and my favorite type of cake is a coffee cake!

...oh my god Isee... they would NEVER had allowed you to call them 'curried sausages'... it would have to have been described as... "this is deconstructed grass fed cow enamoured in the aromatic succulent elasticised entrails of a breastfed calf embedded in a rich pure curried reduction compote with locally harvested micro greens that were imported from Malaysia"... 'curried sausages' indeed!... lol!... the bloody pretentious gits!... cheers.

Sounds like somebody made curried sausages?????

I was frightened by that dish as a kid, at a birthday party, freaked me out

Sorry whoever eats that weird stuff, I am with the judges on that bizaro food, and other weird stuff drom the 70s in fact I believe.

Have you seen 70s cookbooks people? Check them out next time you are in an op shop, they will terrify you:)That isn't food snobbery, it is evolution:)

Curried sausages aren't weird though, my mum cooks them about once a month and they're basically just sausages with veggies in a stir fry, but with curry powder. Though my dad does always call them "curried turds".

Our curried sausages is a mixture of pork sausage beef sausage and chicken sausages cut up and slices of hard boiled eggs. The sauce is basically a cheese sauce that has curry in it. Also has oniion in it. Served on rice. MasterChef judges would hate but it tastes yum

...I'm glad that I've just had my dinner a moment ago or I would've been starving after having read that Isee lol!... it sounds yummy!... cheers.

Eww, I am sorry but both those recipes - scare me still

And why not use other meat? Like chicken or beef sliced, the sausages floating in sauce look gross.
Sorry I find sausages a bit weird too anyway, only eat specific sausages.

Cheese & curry, that sounds really weird @Isee

Little Chinese sausages are nice in fried rice sliced, I think I may be too Chinese to appreciate fat sausages

All of this reminds me of Sheldon in Big Bang, how he loves his Mum's spag with little hot dogs in it:)

lol no worries, i know it sounds weird, it is a childhood sensory thing and comfort thing as well as yum thing for me.

I still eat - and like - a lot of childhood faves that kxk may also find weird and old fashioned. Rissoles, salmon patties, tuna mornay, scrambled eggs, grated cheese & carrot - they're all a staple in my family. One thing we did eat as a kid which I've gladly left behind though is fish fingers, I much prefer real fish now.

I love rissoles and meat loaf - just a big rissole, scrambled eggs.
What do you do with grated cheese & carrot? I like the sound of that?

I have a huge home made fried rice waiting for dinner, and my household is sick of my slightly oriental style food - they want hot dogs:(

The cheese & carrot is just a salad, nothing added to it, just equal amounts of cheese (whatever cheese you like but it works better if it's soft) grated together.

I love fried rice, and most Asian food too.

Yum, going to try that, carrots will cut the cheese with their fresh crunchiness, nice combo I love them both

...Ray's spinning the "I've sacrificed everything" spiel once again... ha!... see my previous post on that one page back to see what I think of that crap lol!... cheers.
