Leon Murray (old voice of BB) fired at last minute

Most people involved with production where surprised Pete was given the role, so I’d agree it’s a step down and we should of gotten a upgrade
Yeah look they could have gone in a totally fresh direction. I wouldnt have minded.

Like when Nick Colquhoun started I didn't know of anything of him before (and I pretty much still don't- hes a mystery) but for them to tease Leon in the promos only for him not to be in the actual show and get replaced by one of his minions I find to be a downer.

On LinkedIn, I asked Leon in a PM about AU$800 per line being industry standard. He said, "You're assuming it's correct, which it isn't." Then, I gave him a link to this exact thread. I figure after what I accidentally did to Tim Dormer, Leon should have a chance to defend himself.

If you’re reading, Leon, come back to the negotiating table and offer to do it for free. Better yet you pay them to do it.

Don’t forget that back in 2012 Nine did let Leon use the house to film a (mildly funny) promo for his VA work, selling himself as the voice of Big Brother. I don’t inherently see any issue with this
Agree with this. Regardless of feelings about the voice for the revival, anyone should be permitted to promote their job - if anything it’s in the show’s best interest for the added exposure.

Leon served his place back then and was perfect for the Nine era. I don’t agree that he should’ve been dismissed partly due to just wanting to put his name to the show, if that’s true.

This is a budget operation? Since when has Big Brother ever been a budget operation? Early series, I can understand, but now?
Budget is relative. I would guess that this season has been several times cheaper to produce than any of the Nine ones.

Majority of savings coming from the lack of a stage roof, of course 😁

Have you not been paying attention? Everything is cheap. The house, the stage, right down to the HMs' having to bring their own luggage. Not even a Channel 10 branded umbrella for Mel. As BB101 says, this is being made for a fraction of their OG budgets.

After all the hype this has gotten, I'm surprised it's being made that cheaply. At least give Mel a branded umbrella. Channel 10, Paramount, Banijay, anything.

At least technology is cheaper. They'd never have dreamed of HD remote-operated cameras throughout the house in 2001, when 40" plasma screens sold for $14k.

In all fairness they had remote operated cameras in 2001. Just bc the house can be 100% remotely operated doesn’t mean it should be. A new Panasonic UE160 is still $16k.
