Layla lacks depth and insight

Layla is a nicer person. She hasn't "bitched" about anyone, that is talk negatively about someone for the sake of being mean. She has talked about Angie and George this past week, but this was done as Layla was talking about how SHE was feeling and coming up with a solution to alleviate how bad she was feeling.

Someone like Angie talks about people in order to establish a very strong self/other us/them mindset so that she feels accepted and any negativity can be focused on the person on the outer.

Having read some of your nasty posts in other threads I find it hard to stomach your criticism of people bitching.

Her accent. Ugh. I honestly thought when they played her package the first night that she was deaf before they said she was English. It just has that same sort of Marlee Matlin tone to it.

*Pre-emptive disclaimer* NTTAWW how deaf people speak.

I disliked Layla from the first week when she said all sorts of stupid stuff about the UK. e.g. "it is always grey" I watched the show online as the sun was shining on a lovely warm day, looking out on a fresh green lawned (OK, much of that could be moss ) garden with roses blooming. I would consider her a chav with aspirations if she was on a BB:UK, a chav is similar to a bogan as far as I understand it.

She follows the money (Michael > George? ) or best catch remorselessly. I was sorry for the revived Aus BB as they had fallen for the stereotypical BB:UK wannabe in Layla, a downward path. What I loved about the old BB:Au was the variety of HMs and their no nonsense BB.

She is playing on language and cultural differences when the UK has easily identifiable similarities in class terms: Michael may be seen as an under achiever with potential and family money (middle class) and George as having a trade which will always make an income, potential to build a business or do well as self employed if a grafter. There is no equivalent of the mining boom in WA in the UK; the closest would be demand for trade skills on North Sea oil rigs (boom times 80s and 90s) and recent projects like the Olympic village and London Underground extensions.

Layla just used that as an excuse the ex gf thing because she immediately took a fancy to Sam.

Layla has her flaws like most people, but she is nowhere near as annoying as the majority of the other housemates.

Well tonight just sealed Layla's fate! I don't like her, she just gets away with not thinking cos she's pretty :( It looks like thinking hurts her brain!

I like how George in his farewell speech told the housemates how it was funny to watch Layla fire up. In other words it wasn't just Angie that caused the argument. He also said regarding the superpower that Layla would secretly enjoy having it even though she would tell the housemates she didn't. I completely agree. I think she just put on an act for Sonia and Australia.

I am really disappointed for her that she doesn't have a good grasp of the english language to a point where she cannot properly convey her opinion on an issue and fuddles words. Maybe it's from a lack of education (leaving early) or she may be dyslexic? Although frustrating for me to watch it is an endearing quality of hers but she's probably the least likely after this to have a career in radio.

Layla was one of my faves at the beginning, but the more I see her, the more I don't like her. I didn't like the way she jumped from George to Sam in an instant, didn't like how she acted innocent in the truth or dare fiasco (granted from what I could see due to editing) and loathed the baby talk and wasted superpower during nominations tonight. I don't mind the accent, but find the constant "erm" so friggin irritating. Over her.

I feel that Layla has overplayed her hand. Andddddddddd she covered her mouth with her hand and her hair when nominating.
I feel George was right. He did well not to get into her clutches. Sam has already given her the talk.

Yep. Or at the very least, she puts no effort in to trying to logically think things through. It's as though she has always been rewarded for being cute and indecisive and so doesn't even try.

Up till recently I'd been thinking Layla's lovely. In a superficial way I still do. But the stupid. It's very off putting. And there's no Flowers For Algernon pathos of a dummy hoping to become smart one day like we had in Ryan.

There is a positive. Should the world be struck down by a pandemic illness that reanimates the dead, Layla wont have the material to make zombie. There needs to be a brain to start with.

I was starting to like Layla again.... until tonight. Lost all faith in her and I hope she gets evicted soon.
