Layla lacks depth and insight

"Slut" is a ridiculous term, I agree. Anytime anyone brings the word in to a thread my body tightens and I recognise we are no longer having a clever discussion about the psychological motives of the housemates anymore- we are getting lazy and nasty and very high school. I completely agree, Layla isn't a bad person but she makes some very cruel decisions. Talking to a group of people about one person is not looking out for Angie's wellbeing- she just wants everyone to tell her she's a good person and not to feel guilty whilst kind of destroying Angie's standing with the housemates. I don't particularly like Angie, she can be very obnoxious- I just understand why she was so upset with Layla suddenly disliking her.

Wow well said....I find myself sticking up for Angie only because most of the negative comments are aimed firmly in her direction but I really think Layla is just as bad as Angie....the bitching behind her back when Angie regards her as her bestie in the house just left a sour taste....her out and out drooling over Sam left me unmoved.....even telling Bradly to leave the LR sso she could have a chat with Zoe....then goes on to say "He's definitely my type, I could really go for him......oh look at that body...."...pathetic really...and yep I find Angie fairly obnoxious as well.

What does slut even mean these days?
It's not a word used much anymore is it?

I don't even associate it with having lots of sex - for where is the crime in that as long as your careful/clean and don't hurt people. Like Samantha in Sex & the City, she just gets what she wants and that is fine.

I associate it with manipulative bitches who use people and play games, and cheat and all that crappy childish behaviour, sleeping with married men, etc.

Its a slippery slope.

If there,s nothing wrong with plenty of sex for women. Then whats the issue with sleeping with married men?

Why is marriage so "sacred" then? Why can't one man and two women get "married" etc?

When youare trying to break the stereotype of the HARLOT ie. slut, whore, etc then you have to aim further at all the little foibles of 'morality'.

Marriage involves other innocent parties, kids. And I have allways thought it made more sense for a woman to have 2 hubbies rather than the other way around, one for the housework and one can go earn the money:)

Haha. I know I have a filthy mind, but the 2 husband thing had me intrigued regarding their sexual roles. One for the front and one for the back.

History and the real world ie animals etc confirms the more "natural" system though of dominant males having multiple ladies to entertain them. Ultimately all existence is about sexual union and ones success or otherise at achieving this is paramount in biology, no matter how much some human minds are able to contort and confound this baldest of bald facts.

Feminism will be seen as a quaint thing of the 20th century in more enlightened future times where men are allowed to compete naturally for as many women as they can manage. That's the epitome of the free market with no bullshit archaic rules, religious or legal to get in the way.

Sam is a good example of a man who could easily have at least 4 of those women there and handle their needs.

Unfortunately the way the Chinese and Indians are breeding only males - they will be on the rampage for women soon, otherwise it's war

Only because she's carrying a few extra kilo;s. She loses that as she hot and the personality stuff takes care of itself

She has known about the ex for the last 6 weeks....so for me too little too late....and there is now way I would refer to any of the girls as 'sluts' such a heinous label.....and really such a "high school" term

And I think she did do the dirty on Angie....

As I posted earlier:

I can understand if she needed to offload but do it with one person not four with three of the four being part of the gossipy crew. Angie had picked up on Layla’s coolness over the last few days and gave Layla the perfect opportunity to talk to her about her feelings earlier in the week when Layla was talking about being her own person where George was concerned, Angie asked her outright was she doing the same thing to her but Layla assured her she wasn’t.

Layla was talking to the other housemates about Angie because she wanted to get their perspective on the thoughts she was having about their friendship. As for not confronting Angie earlier, it's quite obvious that Layla tends to shy away from having difficult conversations - that's why it took her so long to break it off with George. She needs to take a lot of time talking things through with other people before she can sort things out in her head and make a decision to confront someone. I wouldn't really call it bitching.

What have you done to Layla

Layla's had a mental breakdown this week and taken it out on the people closest too her - George and Angie. After bitching to each about the other and everyone else for that matter, at least for George she eventually broke up with him to his face. Poor Angie just had to bear the brunt of her anger.

She's like 24, so of course she lacks these things.
The argument with Angie, she'd been frustrated with Angie for much longer and was basically at her wit's end with Angie telling her what to do.
I'm guessing there was booze involved and well the tears come out for some girls.

Most of my firepower has been at Ben, and I think Ben is still very devious but I think Angie is more than likely the catalyst behind the Estelle hate campaign.

Um well actually, there are a lot of people who naturally have these qualities from a much earlier age. Angie has been a little brat, but Layla failed to pick up on it by herself- she just followed the group in turning on Angie. It's very human to want to belong to the tribe- and I'm not implying that she is a bad person for doing it, but her lack of backbone/independent thought would drive me insane. Some people love their friends to be meek and dithering- but not me. :-)

But that's pretty much everyone in this series, Estelle, who has been outcast, is the only one that has an inch of character.

Layla started to go down in my estimation towards the end last week…couldn’t believe how much Laya was talking about Angie behind her back.
I can understand if she needed to offload but do it with one person not four with three of the four being part of the gossipy crew. Then it moved to another level …why …because both girls wanted the same guy. I think ppl are underestimating Layla, and how competitive she is and not nearly as ‘dumb’ as she makes out.

She wanted George, she got him, and now she wants Sam, so she told George they were no longer an item ( there was no discussion as she claimed she just told him)…and she used the ‘ex’ as an excuse…..she has known about the ex from the beginning, even heard him talk to Ray about her in the Capt. Quart.

she was visibly upset that Sam had said to Estelle in the CQ he didn't 'get her' .....she's a player through n through

YES !!!
I agree completely.
Layla is playing this game hard.

But that's pretty much everyone in this series, Estelle, who has been outcast, is the only one that has an inch of character.

Hahahahaha

Saying over and over again "I just like to be real and be who I am" doesn't mean you have character unless you do or say interesting things. Estelle appeals to the high school girl demographic, who also think that sticking a lavender behind your ear means you're interesting.

I don't get it, who has done what to Layla?

It was a joke between Someone and Me

So I asked Someone

What have you done to Layla?

I am not sure I made myself any clearer :D but I am laughing a lot :D
