Last movie you saw

I Am Legend

I found it alright, however the ending was crap. It went too quick.. and those mutant humans or whatever they're called.. were scary lol

Uwe Boll?? lol Dear God! Well you can flush that film down the loo right now

As I've said previously, video game films are a German tax right-off. Investors fund these films and receive a tax deduction. The fact that people are willing to squander their own time and money to view these pieces of crud - well that just goes to show how a fool and his money are soon parted.

Horror video games don't scare me....... However being in
underground tunnels in Far Cry on one particular level did
make me jump a few times when things with big claws jump
out at you....

Thats one fun game CLE. Part that made me jump the most was the tree-house section and those god-damn mutant apes.

Cant believe they're making FC into a movie though. Thought theyd go for Half-life first.

And...anyone seen the Australian film NOISE. Im hearing good reports, maybe as good as Lantana? (currently my all time fav Aussie flick)

You mean the Trigens..... I liked the treehouse level but sometimes
they would spot me on the platforms and try jumping up and if you
were on that one that had a ram to the ground they'd find their way
to the ramp and be all over the platforms.. Lovely scenery in the
game, some of the best I've seen...

I love the game editor that came with it but some parts are a bit confusing
like building tunnels and making a building with interiors.

I made a small donut island like in the tutorial and filled it with tons of
Valerie.. Except it's the Valerie character over a grunt model and when
it gets killed it's a guys voice.. I couldn't get the voice bits to work for
the character... But funny seeing tons of clones of her with huge guns
and the Trigens jump on them and kill them.

Well it is Uwb Boll so you won't be missing much. lol

I haven't seen Lantana all the way though because I'm not really
a fan of Anthony Lapaglia.. That scene in the Torana with the woman
and the younger guy, was that part of the story or just in there for
the sake of it?

Shoot Em Up on DVD..

To quote the words of Ja'mie King, but what a random movie.. Clive Owen plays a guy who has to protect a baby from bad guys but it's like a spoof of action movies, I found the one liners incredibly cheesy but funny.

And he kills a guy with a carrot, yes a carrot! Paul Giamatti plays the lead bad guy and there's a reference to Elmur Fudd and Owen as Bugs Bunny.

watch this if you are up for just a funny action spoof movie where anything can and will happen! haha

I'm about to watch:

Sleepwalkers: (3 disk set) featuring Naomi Watts
Mindstorm:
Birthday Girl:
Gossip: features Kate Hudson
Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever
Time Quest: (what if JFK never died)
Avatar: (if you don't play the game, the game plays you)

I naven't seen any of these but got them in the EzyDVD million dollar sale
for around $3 each. Anyone seen any of these?

I'd be curious to hear your opinion on Ecks vs Sever.
It got such massively negative reviews, but the trailer for it looked pretty good. (Alot like the new Aliens v Predator movie).

I watched good ol' Hellboy last night.
Not a bad little comicbook CGI monster movie.

These video games have good storylines, but the people who decide they'll make them into a movie change the hell out of them and ruin it.
You can't twist and change a game's storyline until it fits you,the rest doesn't make sense.

Resident Evil,is about a squad of investigators sent to a mansion,not a hive,just a mansion.

Final Fantasy,oh dear my favourite game of all time, that movie is the biggest crock of sh*t ever made it drives me insane because the f**king games are brilliant and DON'T need to be changed they even have love stories that work perfectly.

These people that want to turn movies into games are people after money and I seriously doubt any of the game's actual producers/writers get a hand in the movie.

It's the same with books too, there have been heaps of good books that movies ruined.

Oh well, I found the first Resident Evil movie kind of fun, for what it was. It was never going to be high art.

And the Final Fantasy movie was a pretty major bit of work. Certainly not a simple Tax dodge. I thought it was pretty impressive. Perhaps if I was into the FF games, I'd feel different, maybe.

The old Mortal Combat movie was good dumb fun too.

I wonder if the old Super Mario Bros movie staring Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper is torrentable?

Final Fantasy: The Spirit's Within is only related to the game in name.

But it was a major work because of the fact it's entirely CG and they
scanned all the actual people in the film into CG characters and then
created a full CG movie..... Square Pictures however who made this moive
are no more. They went el busto for some reason. I don't think it was this
movie but they are no more.

I don't mind this film.

Ecks vs Sever... I'll let you know... That's the last one I wanna watch
out of my pile..... i'm starting with Time Quest because I love alternate
history......

Go get Fatherland...... brilliant movie.

it prolly is but who would want it?
I might just have to buy a Wii just to play resident evil ...... LOL

Slight correction here is that from the list of movies I gave
Avatar was a normal price movie.... The rest were around $3

Took a couple of my young nieces to see The Golden Compass

They enjoyed it, though got very scared at times (seeing them back into their seat, with one hand almost covering their eyes, LOL)

I was dissapointed, I really hated all the casting in this film or maybe the way they played their respective parts, I dont know, they just irked me throughout (Daniel Graig, Nicole Kidman, Eva Green, Sam Elliott). Ian McKellen doing the voice over of the polar bear lead was weird also, Why do they use a main character lead from another (same genre) movie , LOTR, as a voice over in this one . Absolutely annoying

Dakota Blue reminded me of Nikki Webster . I adored the shorts for this film, but other than some great animation from the "demons" I really didnt appreciate the whole movie. The first hour was slow, but understandable as building up a story for more franchises to be made later

6/10

Got about half an hour through "Pan's Labyrinth" - but had to turn it off. Wasn't in the mood for Spanish subtitles, I'd had a fairly arduous week last week.

Will try again next weekend, after the DVD has been cleaned as well.

Well worth persisting, GB. I absolutely loved "Pan's Labyrinth" :)

I know but Squaresoft should have kept the rights.
The movie was f**king boring.

Did you like Ecks vs Sever?

I did. Just finished watching it just now because it's too bloody warm
to sleep. Not a bad film, and in some ways quite good fun. I can't
understand the bad reviews on IMDB. Which reminds me another
movie for me to write about on there..... I've done over 50 reviews
on there.

81 minutes can go slow or it can go fast and this went fast. For the most
part it was fun and only bad point was the rather muted audio for when
characters were speaking and some of the music not cutting out when
scenes changed mood or location.

A lot of little bits reminded me so much of one of my favourite TV shows
La Femme Nikita and I nearly jumped with surprise when they started
talking about canceling targets and such, and going "off profile" which
was so much of the lingo used in LFN.. I miss that show. (Note to self
must complete LFN set)

I think I'll give this 6/10 It's not perfect but it's not bad either.
