Last movie you saw

I can't stand Dakota Fanning...... I also can't stand Tom Cruise, at least
in this movie. They gave a good actor a terrible role to play and he annoyed
me throughout the whole movie. Having said that I did buy the film as it
was in the bargain bins quite soon after its release....

Funny, this is the exact opposite of how I feel about Cruise. I don't like Tom Cruise and generally don't like the type of movie he's in. But I thought he did an ok job in this movie (War of the Worlds).

Well I saw Atonement.
Pretty good film I must say!

So Vacancy was good GB?? Cause the ads looked good!

Put it this way, I wouldn't want to stay in the "honeymoon" room. Awful decor and a nasty 'roach problem.

It was quite good, but kind of short .... I won't say more for fear of spoilers. But I think it's worth a look on DVD.

:)

I've no idea why the studios would want to defile the "Alien" franchise in this way. Oh that's right, money I guess. Anyway, I guess we can always re-watch the first 3 films (especially the first two).

I agree. I love the first Alien movies. I remember going to see Alien with my dad when I was about 10. I was so scared! It's one of those movies that's imprinted in my memory, like the first time I saw ET.

I watched another movie like that on DVD this weekend, Wish You Were Here , one of my favourite movies when I was about 14. The main character was my heroine at the time. It's about a rebellious teenage girl who lost her mum and fell pregnant in small town, 1950's England, and all the 'tut-tutting' and hypocracy surrounding that. It's a very funny, bittersweet movie. Here's a funny scene from it. :)

My employer has disabled our youtube viewing ability, unfortunately.

ha ha, maybe just as well...

The original "Alien" is a pretty special flick. There's that suspense build up as they approach the planet where the signal comes from, and exploring the crashed alien spacecraft. Also I think it's cool how just the one alien manages to pick off all the crewmembers one by one.

And of course, there's that scene...

What do you know? I searched for an article myself, and found it to be over a year old. Certainly doesn't feel that long since I last read it. Reading this, I think it's very apparent that we won't be seeing this for quite some time. If it does get made, I speculate 2010/2012 at earliest.

I haven't heard of that website lol,I didn't find it on there though.
I saw 'District 9' on the upcoming movies website and saw that it didn't release details so I got interested.
But it turns it that it's not 'Halo' but a Sci Fi flick featuring a producer from one of the 'Halo' games,so it'll still be interesting.

PJ is also making 'The Lovely Bones' too.

I'm a bit late in the game.... Now that I've seen all the Resident Evil
movies I want the game snd waaaa waaaaaaa theyr'e not around for
the PC anymore....

Only on the nintendo Wii..... "sad face"

Omg CLE,you haven't played the games???
Personally my favourite is Resident Evil 2,but the original is great...the movie isn't that accurate.
If you want to play a real scary game play Silent Hill:The Room.

Alien never impressed me much except for the gore factor. It was a typical 80s horror film, the staple of every visit to the video store.

Then there was Aliens. I can't express the phenomenon this film was at the time. I knew every scene by heart before I even saw it, due to word of mouth reports. When I saw it myself, it was a religious experience. Twenty years on and it still easily has a place in my top ten films.

'Cloverfield' opens in cinemas in Australia on Jan 17. Basically, it's created a bit of a phenomenon online because its original introduction to the world was a teaser trailer which played before Transformers; it was simply titled '1-18-08. The whole thing was filmed to look like it was filmed by a handycam, ala, 'Blair Witch Project'. The teaser rocked everyone's world, and caused them all to speculate what in hell they just all saw. It's a monster movie. And noone yet knows what the monster looks like. And, J.J. Abrams ('Lost' and 'Alias') is also the creator. I for one cannot freakin' wait for this movie, though my expectations aren't completely over-the-top soaring high like some people's... I could very well be let down.

That rocks my world alright. But I'm a bit concerned about J. J. Abrams being involved. I loved Lost at first, but it became too frustrating being constantly stringed along with no satisfaction to my curiosity. I still don't know what that invisible monster was.

Also gamers, there is going to be a movie adaptation of 'Halo' out in a few years.

Initially I was excited by this news, as Peter Jackson was said to be involved. But I just discovered that Alex Garland is doing the screenplay. Garland's The Day of the Triffids ripoff, 28 Days Later... was bad enough, but I will never forgive him for the shit that was Sunshine.

But Bkeela, don't you know... it's set in NYC?! ;) It might put a smile on your face then to see it destroyed, probably more than it ever has on film before.

I think with J.J. on board, it at least guarantees for an interesting concept. I too share similiar thoughts of 'Lost', however, I think it may have quite a bit to do with the fact that while he's still credited on the show, his involvment these days is in fact very little. At least with this film, we know we're pretty much gonna see it all wrapped up and know all we need to know in 2 and a half hours, potentially satisfied more than we could be with Lost at the moment.

I'm resigned to all blockbuster films being set in New York. This time it makes sense, cause if you are a monster bent on destroying humanity, you're going to choose the place it will make the most impact. I enjoy seeing New York ravaged by disaster anyway.

I saw I Am Legend, im too lazy to read back to see what anybody else thought of it, but in my opinion is was a big load of doggy doo... 2/10

Yeah spose.. I liked it for being different (cause I have never seen The Omega Man) but I didn't like the cheap CGI or the way they ended it, they should have followed the book.. Which I haven't read but know the gyst of the story, it sounded a lot better.

too slow? lol. The third act was so rushed you would miss it if you blinked. I thought the flick had massive potential but it died in the ass in the third act

and messages from god saving the day? *vomit*

Horror video games don't scare me....... However being in
underground tunnels in Far Cry on one particular level did
make me jump a few times when things with big claws jump
out at you....

But it didn't make me feel scared to go back there.

I've love to get hold of copies of the games so I might check
out the 2nd hand shops like game traders.. The character
of Jill Valentine from the 2nd movie is in one of the games but
I preferred the Sienna Guillory version lol.....

BTW like my avatar?

I just can't stand Lost and I've tried to put myself through the whole of
season 1 to get interested and still I can't like it... I get bagged a lot by
folks for not liking it but I think it sucks.. "different things for different
people and all" but I just can't get into a series that uses flashbacks
as a major crutch to hold the rest of the show up.......

Ask someone to explain the series up to where they are now and you get
all sorts of interesting answers...... I use this quote a lot but J.J. Abrams
I believe said in an interview that they more or less make the show up
as they are going but sticking to a certain number of episodes to wrap the
series up. I thnk 3x16. And he put some spin on that to make it sound
greater then it was.....

OMG he's responsible for the new Star Trek movie coming out in March
and I shudder to think what that will be like.... Already the new Enterprise
looks like the front of the engines are two penii

"Aliens" was great....but it did lack the novelty factor of the original film "Alien", and it became a bit of a 'shoot em up' at the expense of some of the scariness factor (which was there in the first half of the film).

Nah trust me,Silent Hill specifically the 4th one is chilling, and it was made into a movie but once again they f**ked it up.
It's focus is more on atmosphere rather than monsters despite the fact that they are quite grotesque.

Yeah Jill Valentine features in the third installment of the game and it actually features the creature that was in the second movie.
I can't for the life of me understand why these idiot movie producers decide to mess the movies up - They would be much more successful if they left the storyline the same.

What's in your avatar?
