Last movie you saw

Watched Pitch Perfect last night, silly fun movie. Rebel Wilson was the absolute stand out, she is very funny.

Oblivion

Gorgeous film to look at it. It didn't quite grab me and suck me into the world in a way it needed to. I didn't mind that a bunch of stuff had been done before. I actually think it needed more development in the plot. It just needed something more. Enjoyable enough. Not great though.

...damn I can't wait to see the new Star Trek 'Into Darkness' movie due out soon... with Benedict Cumberbatch playing the bad guy it should be really awesome... cheers.

Baz has once again shown to be a director of movies that have plenty of style but little substance. How bazza keeps on getting studios to make movies for them beats the hell out of me. There's very little sign of an interesting narrative in his films even when sourcing it from quality books no less. And pretty much of all his characters reduced to one dimensional cheesy caricatures. I think the guy is best suited to theater and should stay there.

Wasn't the movie Australia one of his?

The Great Gatsby... Now that's a classic and you shouldn't mess with it unless you are going to make a good movie. Not sure about this one myself.

Yep, it was. I'm not a fan of baza's film 'style' to be honest. It is very frenetic, as if the actors were on acid or something but at the end of the movie it is very unsatisfying.

I sat through Australia for curiosity and frankly it left me feeling like not wanting to care for the characters at the end. Nicole's used to be a good actor.

It's the first Star Trek I've ever seen - I've never watched the tv show, never watched a movie. I LOVED IT!!

He's a very strange director isn't he.
I was left bewildered by his Romeo & Juliet - couldn't even squeeze a tear out, or even feel sad, feel anything really.
That's quite a trick - I love the tragic story and language, and he managed to turn it into a shallow rock video.

Your absolutely right he needs to stick to theatre, he's all epic colour and motion and no depth.

I love looking at his spectacles though - Moulin Rouge is astounding visually.

Seems the only really good movie he has mad is old Strictly Ballroom, he's better with no money - big budgets let him go insane.

And I still want to see Gatsby, 3D big screen just for the spectacle.
(The old film with Redford sucked too)

Link.

You know a movie has problems when an orangutan out acts fellow humans. Completely stupid movie, but had a few standout moments. Weird seeing Tosh Lines before he became a pathetic wine-o. Though ultimately not even Elisabeth Shue's breasts could save this movie. Verity, stick to Who,Widows and Creek.

Pacific Rim

Was quite entertaining but from all the rave reviews, especially stuff online. It was disappointing as it wasn't that good or that level of awesome.

I heard it actually wasn't too bad. Having been away I am so tempted to just go to the movies every day and catch up on everything lol

It's on my list.
