Last movie you saw

Robert Hienlen's The Puppet Masters

Nice creepy horror story. Small town is taken over by these critters that attach themselves to the back of the neck and make people their slaves. It's a bit dated now but still good viewing for the most part if very short.

Did anyone ctach The Wiz on ABC2 Saturday night? Very odd indeed. Fantabulous costumes though and some poor buggers had to make about 1,000 of them!! Michael Jackson was barely recognisable and so sweet!

Yeah I saw the movie years and years ago...did you watch Storm Boy afterwards.....?! I taped it and haven't seen it yet, can't wait!

Yeah for such a sweet kids movie to make an intense violent change in mood in the last 15 minutes was really shocking. You've got to admire the director for such a brave decision.

LEGO Adventures of Clutch Powers

OK I was in a very stupid mood today and watched this. Not as bad as I thought it could have been and I love lego......... Gotta love lego mini figs.

5/10 for being cute.......

The Road

Finally got around to watching this in Blu-ray. Really what to say about a film like this? It's bleak, it's well made. It's the sort of film that's telling a story that it is what it is. People lost in a dead world, trying to survive. Not about a story or anything of people in this world, just a section of their time living in what's meant to be like a real life nightmare.

I thought the ending was way too convient and while I don't know how else to end it, it did sort of go against the film. I don't know if there was meant to be an over arching theme that wasn't fully developed of a father loosing his faith in all humanity, in a world in which seemingly everyone else has. In order to keep humanity alive in his son. The father was unable to accept good in anyone and while being necessarily very cautious, never stopped to see if there was humanity left besides in his angel, his god, his son.
So the family following them, if only he hadn't been so paranoid maybe he would have stopped to see the signs and shared humanity with others.
Although not all really clear and developed so the ending just seems very convenient and contrived against the rest of the film.

I thought Knowing was a great movie

I saw The Lovely Bones last week. I really, really, really loved the book it would be close to being my all time favourite book. The Movie did not live up to the book, it was ok but lacked depth, the girl who played the main character Sarah Salmon was really well cast, she was a great actress and had such a likability. I wont go on about what I did and didn't like in case you plan on seeing it.

Look even though it wasn't as good as the book, imo it is still worth a watch.

The trailers for Knowing made it seem much better then what it was..... I felt the film could have been better had they delved more into the whole numbers thing, that was interesting and really aliens... Even I a scifi fan thought that was very overkill. And that sappy happy ending felt tacked on..... They should have ended the film on a downbeat ending with the Earth frying and a question mark about the spaceships... That was also a huge nitpick for me. So the writers of the movie were saying that maybe it was spaceships that people in the Bible saw..... hmmmmm.......... While I love that idea I felt it was a bit off here..... They should have not been in the film and it should have been a downbeat ending..

I liked knowing, was flawed, dragged in bits but I thought it set a good mood and atmosphere and was entertaining.

Office Space
Anarchy in the office! Hilarious film. Although at times for me the endless tedium portrayed on screen actually became a little bit tedious for real, but those moments weren't too frequent. But yeah, I love this movie.

Idiocracy
I prefer this to Office Space. Just. In a similar way to Office Space, this movie really beats you over the head with large amounts of stupidity which could get annoying at times but the movie was so hilarious that it wasn't a big deal. I hope this isn't an accurate prediction of the future.

Ghostbusters
People are very surprised that I only saw this for the first time recently. Yeah, I was living under a rock. I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't as laugh out loud funny as I'd hoped but the story kept me interested and some of the ghosts were very cool. Sigourney Weaver was so hot too.

Ghostbusters 2
Not as good as the first. It basically recycles the entire plot of the first film. They're almost identical in terms of structure. But it's still pretty good. Peter MacNicol's character Janosz was very irritating though.

I assume you know Office Space and Idiocracy were both done by the same guy yeah?
Love both the films. Apparently he had an idea for an Office Space sequel but thought in this day and age with shows like the office it would come off too much as unoriginal. Which I think is a shame.

Idoicracy is brilliant though, although definitely not for everyone's taste in humour. From my experience some people just don't get the joke and the humour. People who will say it was all so dumb. Or there's people who like it and don't get the joke, just love the silly nature of the humour. With the film going over their heads.

Apparently the studio basically sabotaged the film from being successful when they saw what it was. Cutting the budget dramatically and basically cancelling it's release. Well they then released it in very few cinemas with no advertising. Robert Rodriguez SPX house actually donated a bunch of special effects to get the film finished.

I think it's a case of, people can't handle the truth about society.

I re-watched the ghostbusters films a few years back. As a kid liked them but yeah they were alright but not great or anything. Seemed the kind of short and quick no depth kind of films. Entertaining but yeah dated.

Apparently they are still trying to get a third off the ground, but Bill Murray really doesn't want to do it.

Is Office Space the movie where they massacre a poor printer because is annoying someone? because I heard about this movie where a printer gets murdered because the operator was frustrated.....

And idiocracy what's that about?
