My favourite scene was them in the big round thing floating down the river..
You are very generous. I'm a huge fan of the book and the film was nothing like the book, was way too short and I thought a pile of crap. Chrighton's take on Time Travel was not even used or discussed. In the book there is no time travel. What happens is that you land in a parrallel universe of sorts that resembles your "past" thus when they find the spectacles at the dig site they came from another scientist who was there in the "past" but not their own fellow scientist. But ooh time travel makes my head hurt.
Often knowing the books can ruin the non faithful adaptations.
I sometimes find reading the books after the films for such things is better. Like the Ian Flemming bond books. Most of the films are totally different than books, but reading the book after the film improves the books. Although really i had seen all the films multiple times before ever picking up the books.
With timeline, I just found it an entertaining adventure. Wasn't the smartest written thing out there, but it never was dull or boring or cringe worthy and so it entertained. Personally I went into it, expecting a dumb sort of action film, nothing to analyse, just to be entertained and be interesting and well made enough to do so. A big part of enjoying movies is to set your expectations appropriately. So it entertained me actually a bit more than i had expected it to.
Anyone seen those ads for "Year One" I mean the ads even look terrible. How on Earth do these things get made
Yeah that does look quite bad. It would have gotten made on Jack Black, Michal Cera being in it. I bet it was greenlit with them attached before the script was written. They have the idea for the film, they get some stars, get the deal then go into production. Harold Ramis isn't a hack and it's written by him and two writers of the US office. It looks very cheap crappy parody in the style around these days which have ruined spoof films.
It's worrying though, the claim that they want it to be like a "Life of Brian" and it to be very monty python esque... like where the f### is that in any of the trailers. There are a few ok funny bits, but it's just Jack Black playing Jack Black, Cera being Cera. Comedy writers often fall down when they try and emulate a style as the reason python was good and like python because the python guys wrote it. It was their style. People are best writing in their style and hopefully it's good.

Never had seen any of these direct to TV indiana jones, light hearted action adventure movies. Had the three sitting on my shelf, so finally decided to check them out. It's nice that people still make movies that are not meant to take themselves serious, embrace the low budget and are just there to have fun. That said, I think i slightly lacked a level of fun and goofiness it fully needed. It just wasn't quite all there to completely work. There was a sense of fun, just not enough of one and not consistent enough that held the film back from truly working. Films like Romance & the Stone did the whole comedic tone better. It was enjoyable enough and I will soon watch the next two.
Anyone know how the next two compare to the first?

Oh I liked that one
If you want a drama bit of a thriller and a bit of basic instinct type action get "Judicial Consent"
It stars Bonnie Bedelia and it's like watching a movie with a combination of all of the above. Not bad just different, but not boring either. You may like it, you may not.

I love you man - sucks, but i like paul rudd & they gave us free tickets to the Hangover; then watched 6 episodes of True Blood on dvd, freakin awesome, better than most movies, Anna Paquin is really wonderful.
Saw a double bill Tarantino oldie, with Deathproof i love this, it makes me laugh so hard I thought I would get a stomach ache.

You know I still have not seen Death Proof, but I did buy Planet Terror and love it.
Best line in the movie
"hi I'm cherry"
"you sure are"
When Rose McGowan's character meets the Doctor's wife
I saw Terminator Salvation. It didn't disappoint me, as I had zero expectations. But it barely kept my attention. An average episode of Sarah Connor Chronicles is more exciting.
The car chase was lame. No Kristanna Loken Terminators = fail. Finally meeting the Resistance...underwhelming. John Connor the cardboard man should have disintergrated in the lake. The Skynet base was better left to my imagination, and Skynet explaining things to its underling was beyond absurd.
It would have been better had there been less Christian Bale and less Sam Worthington, and more Bryce Dallas Howard. Too much testosterone has the same effect upon me as too much passive smoke - leaves me feeling infected.
I feel like a shower now. On the bright side, I really enjoyed my popcorn.

I watched "My Super Ex Girlfriend" again.....
On a second viewing it's still bad but not as bad as on the first viewing...... I liked the idea of the psychotic superhero and Uma did pull that off well. However most of the movie did feel rushed and somewhat lacking, It still felt like a half finished movie.
5/10 I don't think my original score was higher.
Superhero Movie
From the makeers of Scary Movie.....I don't hold any expectations on this one. Anyone seen it?
EDIT: I've just finished the movie and it was fun... It was better then I had expected and I had zero expectations.. It takss offf Spiderman with a kid becoming the Dragonfly and there are cameos by other actors of heroes we all know, namely the X Men and the Fantawstic 4 but as send ups.... It's fun.

The film actually was written with Conner only being at the end.

It seems the script they were making went through a bunch of re-writes with Bale was attached, and somewhere between the original script and what was made was a better film.
I actually saw it again and still enjoyed it still.

Night at the Museum 2 - the kids will love this, plenty of non-stop action. It's right to say it's not as good as the first because there is really no background story to this one, none of the down and out guy rising up to do even better than he imagined. Larry has a few quick kisses with Amelia Earhart and his son helps him out for all of about 2 mins but otherwise there was no substance. Of course I loved the monkeys and so did the kids. I'd have rather waited for the DVD.

Yep the monkey returns and a new one is introduced. Yeah a pity the movie totally ignored the past happenings from the first movie

I think I shall wait for the DVD

Superhero Movie was awful. None of the "... Movie" movies will ever live up to the original Scary Movie...they just get worse and worse as time goes on.

Scary Movie and Not Another Teen Movie are the only films of that "genre" that I like.
I saw The Hangover yesterday. It's a hilarious romp, with solid acting and what is quite possibly the funniest end credits ever.
