Last movie you saw

Thank you Daltrim. Have you seen it yet?

Right now I am watching Australia, I'm half way through. So far it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I loved Shopaholic too, I took Mum and we both cracked up laughing. My mascara had run because I cry when I laugh

I got Australia on DVD to watch tonight but probably won't watch it until tomorrow now.

Howcome it bomed in the USA? I agree doesn't look at all too bad, so it bugs me it didn't work over there.

Confessions of a shopaholic - wow, it was so underwhelming I could have drank a bottle of vodka and still not laughed, meh

Marley & Me - absolutely boring, uninspiring, dreadful in fact.

I'd more go with "heartwarming yet heartbreaking", "humouress" and "entertaining".

I agree. Big bore. Isla's a cutie and fun to watch, but the movie was just so...vapid.

Replacement Killers.

had never seen it, i understood it to just be gun fights, and was in the bargain bin. Yeah it was decent, did it's job. Nice directed and all. Although I put it in the pile of dvds not to keep, as i'll never watch it again.

I finally got around to seeing Wall-E. Cute :). I particularly liked the 2001 references.

Planet Terror

OMG I liked it a lot...... I've never seen too many zombie films but I really got into this one and loved it.... it was sooooooo fun.

7.5/10

I watched "The Women" last night. Annette Bening, Meg Ryan, Debra Messing and a few others. Bette Midler cameo. It was ok. Watchable but wouldn't make my top 500.

6/10

What about Nosferatu? That's the original and best vampire movie!
Great old silent pic. A really spooky vampire, played by Max Schrek, a great name.

If you like this movie, see "Shadow of the Vampire", which is about the making of the film and the possibility that Max Schrek really was a vampire.

"Why him, you monster? Why not the... script girl?"
"Oh. The script girl. I'll eat her later."

It falls to bits towards the end, but still worth seeing. And William Dafoe is always worth a look.

That's the bad remake of the original film done many years ago in the 40s I think the original is out there somewhere in the bargain bins, but it's far superior

Tonight I watched Speed Racer. I absolutely LOVED it! It was silly, bright, fast and absurdly colourful. I just wish I had seen it at the movies. I want to watch all the car races again lol.

i finally watched eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

it was hard to watch at the beginning, its another one like donnie darko in a way like all wierd and not really making sense ill probably have to watch it again. but it was really thought provoking. like trying to hold onto their memory was like what you would do if you didnt have long to live. yea okay im making it sadder than it is lol but i liked it :)

I ended up seeing this at cinemas by myself, in the final week or two of it's run, just to give it a chance and really was blown away. One of the best films of last year, it was lots of fun, and it totally pulled off the child like sense of fun and excitement!

After i saw it, I said to people, it's a film people will discover on dvd and kick themselves for not seeing in cinemas.

It's nice to know my assessment was right, great film!

I actually haven't spoken to anyone who disliked the film. I picked up the blu-ray last week. Yet to rewatch, know know if to wait for my new projector or not.

Knowing

Actually I quite dug this movie. It was a bit all over the place, from downright silly, to really gripping and entertaining. It's actually a pretty darn good sci-fi film, however it demands the sillyness thats inherent in the story. Maybe some better writing could have smoothed this out, but I actually quite enjoyed the flick. While uneven, and not smooth in pace and tonal changes, there's enough good to make it a good film.

I must say, i generally am impressed by Nic Cage films, i generally like his choices. Although something like Ghost Rider i could do with out this is a good flic. Also a really good overlooked Nic Cage flick was Next.

Thanks CLE, I'll have to look for it. I love old movies. There was really something missing from the new one. It just didn't hit the right spot.

I finally watched Pan's Labyrinth last night. WOW, what a dark movie. I remember rolly saying all the way back at the start of this thread that it wasn't a happy movie and he was right, but it was amazing and i had to watch it through. Definately one to see again.

Pineapple Express and Baby Mama on dvd.

Well 40mins of Baby Mama, damn thing was so stratched I gave up. I hate Blockbuster.
