Last movie you saw

Well, I've seen WALL-E twice now, and I don't care what the hell other people think. It uses unconventional dialogue, yes. It is a process of discovery, yes. It is beautiful to look at and is finely crafted in some of the most technical and unique dramaturgy and animation, yes. But what is it really? To me, it's a film about two things; feeling and identity. It's about us observing what these characters are feeling. About our lack of feeling. How we come to feel, and what we feel about what we are seeing around us. A beautiful film that shines like a ray of light for those first 30 minutes or so. After that, it is something almost complete different; but by the end it comes together nicely to teach us more about ourselves than we could have imagined. Perhaps it's not a film for the everyday person as first thought, but if you want to see something there in the pile of emotive, robotic junk that comes to be more caring for our planet than we can ever be... it will be. :)

WALL-E. Most important film of 2008.

I want to see the film "Whale Rider". For a few years now I've wanted to watch it, but once I saw it at the DVD store and froze up. It's supposed to be very good though. :D

I saw The Visitor on Saturday.

It's this really beautiful, simple film about a widower and academic who befriends a Syrian illegal immigrant and his girlfriend who have been accidentally double-renting his New York apartment while he has been away in Connecticut teaching.

Guy playing the lead role is Richard Jenkins, who plays the dead father in Six Feet Under, and there's a lot of the same undertones of repression and growth in this film too. Loved it.

Warm Nights On A Slow Moving Train

This is an interesting movie. It's nothing like I recall it being. I first saw it when it was brand new in 1988 then aged 21.. Wendy Hughes was a lovely leading lady and I still like her. But my memories of this movie are far different to what they are now after seeing it again.

OK to set the scene. Wendy Hughs plays an art teacher in what looks like a catholic girl's school. By day she's a teacher and good at her job. By night she rides the train working as a prostitute to earn money for her paraplegic brother. He used to be a famous athlete but an accident rendered him in a wheelchair. During his time in hospital he became addicted to Morphine..

So his sister played by Hughes takes up the role of "lady of the night" to fund his morphine supply. She takes various gentlemen on the overnight train at $250 a pop. The only rule is that when the clock hits 3am they must vacate her suite on the train..

Well overall it is a moderately good film and I don't think time was wasted watching it.

Interesting to see the bonus features on the DVD of this I got the impression the director was not fond of doing this film. I got the impression he wanted to be other places...

I gave it a score of 6/10 on the IMDB.

Tropic Thunder.. Had some funny parts but I kinda expected it to be funnier.

Yeah, I saw Tropic Thunder yesterday. I mostly enjoyed it - it was laugh out loud funny (it was a satire), great cinematography, great music soundtrack, some unbelievable acting (Robert Downey Jr is a great as the dude playin' the dude disguised as another dude). Even the plot is original, if not far-fetched. But it was long for what it was, which is why it missed its mark. ***/*****.

A good movie to be entertained by for a laugh.

My daughter and I saw Wall E tonight and we loved it. It was gorgeous and emotional and heartwarming. I'd recommend it to all.

Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging.

it's no one of thoes trashy british teenage girl ones
It's actually quite good and funny.
i laughed at all the lame stuff cos it was so corny so i enjoyed it along with my friends and we certainly got our 11.50 out of it :)

MY friend saw Wall.E the other day and said it was horrible, so I won't be seeing that.

Sometime this week I'm going to go and see Step Brothers, it looks so funny. Has anybody seen it?

That's because he probably thought it was boring and didn't get it.

My friend saw it and he said he loved it.
So ima deff gonna see that one

Ah, ok. I might go see it then because everybody else is giving it a good review.

Yesterday I rented out Superhero Movie. It is so funny and so great! Highly recommend:D Then that day me, my mate and my mum saw Step Brothers. We found it really funny but it dragged on a lot. Then today me and the same mate planned to see Space Chimps but I got the time wrong so we had to choose between The House Bunny and Journey to the center of the earth. We wanted to see the house bunny but we had his 7 year old brother so we saw Journey to the center of the earth. Surprisingly it was actually really, really good. So I saw those 2 films for only $5 a ticket:) Then tonight we watched Revenge of the nerds.

That's the one that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in isn't VB? I've heard it's not that great. Pity she hasn't been more successful with her movie career.
Are you going to be watching Joss Whedon's new show Dollhouse when it finally gets made?

"tropic thunder". DAMN! that Robert Downey Jr is one hoopy frood of an actor. ;)

Those who've seen it will know what I mean.

What do you mean "you people" ?

Before that ? Latest "mummy" offering. <yawn>

Looking forward to "wall-e"

I hated Southland Tales (which was disappointing because I loved Donnie Darko) but it's one of Mr Raven's favourite films. I just didn't get it.

I watched Wild Child and Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging!
Both really good, Wild Child is more of a chick flick though,
Plus if your a girl you'd be drooling whenever you see Aaron Johnson in ATAPS
