Last movie you saw

Yeah, actually the movie I saw didn't quite live up to the blurb on the cover. Maybe this new film took the same basic idea and made it better. :D

The last movie i saw at the movies was i think 21, not sure all i can remember. It was ok but i wouldn't see it a second time and the storyline was a bit out of whack >_>

The Secretary. At first I though geeeez Steve, why did you get this smut out? But it ended up being a pretty good film.

This is not a one liner thread. If you've seen a new film, let's have some commentary on what you thought of the movie. :)

well didn't think much of it to be honest...too far away from Indy flicks and way to much sci fi in it for just an action flick..
Was really disappointed actually

Pathfinder

Carl Urban plays a viking who got raised by native american's and then fights off the savage vikings when they return. No story, not much dialogue. Literally the beginning him getting found as a kid, then he's grown up and an outsider, then the savage Vikings come, and most of the moving is him being chased and fighting them.
Entertaining though if you're into this sort of thing. Plain just action.
The whole film is annoyingly so in a dark hue, lacking blues and greens.

Southpark: Imaginationland.

Omg so wrong.. but so funny, the plot is basically A bet revolving around Cartman seeing a leprechaun is only the start of trouble when the boys find themselves with the entirety of the world's imagination laid out in front of them. But when a terrorist group attacks Imaginationland, the U.S. Government is eager to find Stan & Kyle.

I saw this on an airplane coming back from NZ last September, it was entertaining enough. Particularly if you're interested in dark ages, Viking stuff. What was Urban doing running around shirtless in a snowy climate?

Last movie I saw was If Only with Jennifer Love Hewitt.
It was quite an interesting movie.

The only movie mentioned on this page, that i've seen is How to lose a guy in ten days.

I know, and i always think, its a cold day in melbourne and my hands are freezing and some what stiff at times, yet in these films people are climbing's up rock faces on snowy mountains with bare hands ect. haha

Ive been liking more and more lately just the pure action films to find entertainment for an hour or two.

Jarhead - Was actually very good. A lot better than i expected it would be. I was expecting it to be so so, but yeah i quite enjoyed it.

Just got back from Kung Fu Panda and You Don't Mess With The Zohan.

Kung Fu Panda was quite good (7/10)

You Don't Mess With The Zohan was absolutely hillarious! (Don't take young children though, many sexual references) but so dam funny. Highly recommend it (10/10) One of the best movies I've seen in ages!

Speed Racer

Saw this today and it was really good. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good fun family film. It really is extremely better than the trailers made it look.

I found from the trailers, it looked like a bright flashing A.D.D. epileptic fit of colour with cheesy lame lines. Really the movie has a good story, and it isn't cheesy. It takes all of a few minutes to get familiar with the cartooney sort of world it takes place in, then after that, nothing seems cheesy crappy. Everything fits in to the world and the story. Even the lines that look incredibly bad "you think you can drive a car and change the world" "but its the only thing i know how to do" totally aren't cheesy or lame or out of place in the film.
Its more serious than it seems, just takes place in this bright world. It also goes for a couple of hours and never for a second do you loose interest.

I really suggest anyone who wants a great fun film, which is suitable for people of all ages really,. I'm sure young kids would love the cartoon nature and the humour, but the story and characters are good definitely good enough to entertain adults.
I say see it at cinema's while you can, you'll miss out not seeing it on the big screen which you'll realise when you see it on dvd and kick yourself for not seeing it in a cinema.

Just a fun, well made, entertaining film. Set in a cartoon land.

And i repeat, it's not cheesy, and the dialogue doesn't seem lame in the movie at all.

100% agree up_all_night!

Great movie, go see it at the cinema while you can! Me and the gf saw it last night and were the only one's in the whole cinema, it was like watching it at home but on the big screen lol...

Mathew Fox was the real winner

Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to avoid it.

So you don't think a film which can be fun for a family is any good?

Family film as in, its suitable for people of all ages. Some of the best films are family films. I think i meant more, its good for everyone. It's not just a kids movie. Its not a little kids movie at all. But it seems like its mainly for younger audiences but its good enough to be enjoyed by older people. If not more so, because it actually is really good.

Maybe the words not right, but meaning to say, it is good for adults and kids at heart. Its just a fun entertaining and interesting film made for people of many ages to enjoy. I'm 24, saw it was a 23 year old, we both really liked it, i'm not one for kid
