Last movie you saw

Hannibal was one of the biggest disappointments of my life, second only to Hannibal Rising, how did they possibly create such absurdity after the brilliance of Silence of the Lambs, though Hopkins is still brilliant and I loved the final scene with the brain.

I only watched about 10mins of Hannibal Rising and gave up. I love the brain scene as well, and the Mason Verger character. The rest is just meh. I loved Red Dragon though, watched that last night.... I think it helped having Ted Tally come back and write the script.

I'm glad they didn't include all of the Clarice/Hannibal relationship stuff that was in the book.

I managed to watch 4 movies yesterday.

American Pie Presents Band Camp: Not bad.
American Pie Presents Beta House: Not as good as Band Camp but not terrible.
Observe and Report: Hilarious! Seth Rogen's best role to date.
Sex Drive: Second viewing and I still loved it. Such a fun movie.

Really, i thought he was one of the weak points of the movie, not only his character, but the story he was involved in, but i seem to be in the minority about that, it all seemed a bit pointless making the film, but i did enjoy Red Dragon, probably because of both Ralph Fiennes and Edward Nortons great acting, and atleast the story was interesting.

Oh your son is my age.
;)

Perhaps we should arrange a meeting for you two.

Meanwhile, cheers for verifying that you are someone who (a) should be deemed too young to be a member of BTB, and (b) just the right kind of age to be worthy of joining my "ignore" list.

Hey BTB Moderation, maybe it would be a good idea to make a compulsory showing of every member's registered age, and is there some sort of auto-feature that where someone is younger than 18, they cannot see messages from people more than 5 years older than them, and vis-versa ?

Oh, but then that would mean that ackbar wouldn't see any messages, nor we, ackbar's messages ... and that would be a tragedy, eh ? :)

It's really quite pathetic that you would put someone on your ignore list merely because of their age.
Daniela is older than 15 and has every right to be here.

That would be good hey :)
Hah Anyway,
Today I watched Legally Blonde 3
YES LEGALLY BLONDE 3!
GAHH, But Elle Woods isn't in it.
It's about her cousins from the United Kingdom moving to California.

numba1son, LSCP and I went and saw "KNOWING" today at ACE Cinemas in Midland.

Firstly, I must say that those cinemas (particularly cinema 1) are far nicer than any Greater Union I've visited in Perth. The seats are big, wide, and comfortable (and curve around the screen in Cinema 1) and the toilets are the cleanest and most pleasant to visit that I've ever witnessed in any Cinema anywhere.

As for the movie (starring Nicholas Cage), all I can say at this stage (as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else) is MUST SEE.

Really. And I'll have more to say about it another time.

Anyway, we're now relaxing back at home watching "Curse of the Ring", the story of Seigfreid the Dragon Slayer.

Are you and your family holidaying in Perth?!
Go to the cinema in Carousel and Inaloo, they're much better.

Why? Do we need to live in such a heavily regulated world? You have every right to overprotect your son, but so long as any members here are over 15, they can (and should be able to) access the entire site.

The way you go on, you'd think this site was full of porn. It isn't. Daniela may be younger than 18, but she is over 15. So long as she obeys the rules of the site, she can stay, post and access the entire site.

A teenager matures into an adult through a period of time. A 16year old is more mature than a 15 year old, a 17 yr old is even more mature etc, etc. There is no magic switch that gets flicked the morning a kid wakes up 18 years after they were born.

To demand that 15 - 18 year olds get regulated in such a way is really just plain silly. What would stop users like Daniela simply artificially inflating their age so they could use the whole site? It's an unrealistic demand.

You know what - I think it's the height of rudeness to publicly brag and identify someone as person you have put on an ignore list, but what the heck - now I'm doing it too. Back onto the ignore list for you.

Can't take your insulting, narcissistic, patronising, hypocritical crap any longer. The irony that you hold up your own version of internet morality and insist it be applied to everyone else, yet your own standards are lower than dirt. Jay may be 13, but he has displayed infinitely more class, grace and MANNERS than you ever have.

P.S. I pity your son.

Any excuse. :p:D

Also, a bit of a lol that you should choose as a reason, my ignoring of someone who prolly is not only not under 18, but also prolly isn't even female ?

Jay may be 13, but he has displayed infinitely more class, grace and MANNERS than you ever have.

Says you ... but I wouldn't know, for until yesterday I'd had him on ignore for some time now, along with some other teens who not only should not be participating in these forums without parental guidance/supervision/approval, but also should never have been encouraged to participate without parental guidance/supervision/approval by the likes of you or anyone else in here.

P.S. I pity your son.

Why, because you can't chat with him in a public forum or by Private Mail without my guidance/supervision/approval like you could with apparently 13yo Jay (et al) ?

So, what movies have you seen lately ?

"Curse of the Ring" turned out to be cursed/scratched (which is a shame as the half we saw ...right up to where the "fall in love" potion is being handed over, was pretty good), so we are now watching "Bubba-Hotep" ... another Bruce Campbell movie.

He plays Elvis.

As in "Hail to the King, Baby". :) :p

Oh, and for those of you who have seen "Knowing"

View attachment 23990

... and were wondering about the classical piece of music featured, you can see it performed here:

[youtubevid]qs5pH4GKYkI[/youtubevid]

Tis Beethoven Symphony 7, movement 2, Allegretto.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._7_(Beethoven) for more on that.

I had to seek it out and/to be sure who it was by because for a moment or two when it moves out of the main theme (around 3mins 40ish seconds in), it sounds like part of the piece used in Walt Disney's "Fantasia" when the winged white horses do their thing.

Which turns out to be from Beethoven's sixth symphony, as I just discovered.

[EDIT] Oh, and apologies for the version of tube chosen ... sounds like it might be a student orchestra here and there ... and everywhere. :)

The strings seem pretty off for much of it, but perhaps that was just the recording.

On The Town

I have a pile of musicals I haven't watched yet. The DVDs have been sitting on the shelf for almost a year, perhaps maybe even a year :)

Anyway I took the fiirst DVD off the pile and it was "On The Town"

This is actuallly not a bad movie. I laughed a lot during this. It's bright and full of colourful costumes. It stars Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, and the leggy Ann Miller. The story is about three sailors on a 24 hour day leave in New York. They go out to find three girls to spend their leave with.

One of them meets a lady cab driver, the other a lovely antrhopologist in a museum, and the last one fals for a picture of this woman who is "Miss Turnstiles" for the subway system. She's not a celebrity, but just a girl they pcked for the month to publicise the subway. But Gabey played by Gene Kelly falls head over ass for her.... Anyway crazy fun as they all try to find this girl for him and lots of nice musical numbers.

I had fun watching this

7/10

Tonight I watched 'Bolt'. Cute but I found the hamster deeply disturbing for some reason...

I loved that movie, even though most animated movies with an animal protagonist annoy the crap out of me. It was just so fun. Didn't it remind you of Toy Story a bit? I kept thinking that they may have borrowed a few story ideas...

Spaceballs.
I got it ages ago cheap on DVD but never got around to watching it.

God it's got some bad bad gags in it.
"We have to jam their radar!" - and a jar of rasberry jam is thrown at a radar dish.
"Comb the planet for her!" - and the baddies have giant combs to scrape the sand with...
Yeesh.

But it's good for seeing Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet, and Mel Brooks as Yogurt.
