Jade. The elephant in the room. Let's talk.

This.

Yes it's embarrassing to watch but I'm glad it's being aired.
Everyone has been in this situation at least once in their life, to some extent.
I can't relate to Ed at all because when somebody likes me like that and I don't feel the same I'm cold as ice because it's easier that way and I become closer as mates with them in the long run.

Really I think that situation has more to offer than Caleb (what exactly does he offer) and Tully (who has disrespected her girlfriend on national television).

Agreed. Caleb reminds me of some kind of farm animal. He's warm and nice but boring and seemingly simple. If the house ended up with just Matthew and Caleb adn a few other randoms, I would have to stop watching. I couldn't think of anything worse!!

As excruciating as the Jade/Ed situation is to watch, it's far more interesting that anything else going on.. I do feel sorry for Ed because by all accounts, he really is as genuine and lovely as the housemates think he is. But I do think he needs to be firmer with Jade so she can stop embarrasing herself. I feel so bad for her family and friends having to endure it, night after night!!

Those that say Ed needs to man up and tell her straight, well maybe, but that just would makes Eds time in the house uncomfortable. He clearly does not like confrontation. Yes they kissed in truth and dare but Ed makes it so obvious he is not into her. Jade should at this age be able to take a hint.
Don't think this isn't denting Ed's chances as well.
To be that unassertive as a male is not an attractive feature.

I dont hate Jade but I do feel sorry for her. She really is quite immature.

She's 22... she behaves very much like a 22 year old when it comes to guys, besides the (even more) heightened insecurity - I think that's unfinished business from her teen years that got pushed back a few years due to modeling. Otherwise, she often seems very mature.

WELL, aren't you the negative nancy!~ Was congratulating you on something and you turn it into something mean~ Well Played. ;)
Seriously, Congrats on #8~!

And just so ya know, I'll post where I Like~ Enjoy~

I thought YOU had been the negative one! You haven't been a fan of my posts so far, so naturally I thought you were being sarcastic!! This is the problem with internet communication! :)

Jade is definitely insecure. The only way she thinks she can get a guy's attention and hold on to him is by using her assets and sexuality. I thought what Mikkayla did was wrong, gave her wrong advice and alot of bull psycho analysis. In this respect I felt painfully embarrassed for jade in the bedroom incident.

I was embarrassed for/by Jade as well, but you can't really blame Mikkayla for Jade jumping into Ed's bed. She didn't say "jump his bones" she said "open up to him and show him your true self"

She shouldn't have encouraged anything at all, she'd be well aware of what Ed has told other housemates.

Mikkayla is competing against Jade, who must seem a formidable opponent. She is using her infatuation to bring her down. I think this is what M and Tim were discussing under the white blanket.

she also said "arouse him"

hmm. great choice of words, mikkayla.

I think Mikkayla did it on purpose.

When Mikk was telling Tim about the advice she gave to Jade I did think they shared a moment of 'isn't it funny to encourage her' so I don't know how genuine she was being to Jade really. I like to think she was being kind but I don't know

Jade does not deserve to win. She is not ready. She neds to learn a lesson, and I am pretty sure that we are all watching her learn it. It probably wont hit her until she watches the tapes, but this is her making this mistake for the last time. I reckon.

Yes, I think Ed has really shot himself in the foot with his handling of Jade. I can't wait to see the votes on eviction night and see how he has fared!

I do feel sorry for Jade, and I thought Mikkayla's advice to Jade was sufficiently dodgy that I wondered if it was game playing ... just wondered though, cuz Mikkayla seems pretty straight forward.

One issue that I haven't seen mentioned is to do with Jade feeling cut that she didn't do well enough in school. She refers to it as not good enough for University. Yet most kids finish school in Australia and don't go to Uni. They don't necessarily think that means they are not smart enough, or that they therefore have no more career choices. It just seems to be a perspective Jade has.

Also, she talks about moving back and forth between Italy and Australia and I wondered if all the moving around made it hard for her to get marks in line with her natural inclinations/abilities and helped diminish her feelings of self worth.

I think this is exactly it.

She really seems to not think very highly of herself, and it's quite upsetting :(

Think about it - her behaviour would technically be classified as sexual harassment anywhere. If she was a guy behaving like this with a girl, he would be spoken to immediately about it.

You know, you have a point. If some guy was jumping into bed with a girl, and kissing her all over her neck/back/shoulders, without an invite then it would be technically seen as sexual harassment. Jade needs to back off. Ed has made it VERY clear that he isn't interested in her. But she won't take no for an answer. She is chasing him, proving to herself that she can have him. It's funny but also sad to watch.

He's certainly made it clear to everyone else but her. It makes her look bad to all the housemates. Yeah, he's told everyone that he's not interested but he hasn't straight up told her. In fact, live feeds last night showed that at the party he said he'd take her out on a date to meet his friends. Then slept in a single bed with her. Mixed signals or what? So no, he hasn't made it clear enough to her.
