Yeah I like how she is with other people in the house outside of Ed. She's kinda like everyone's caring big sister. She's very warm and open and very insightful with her comments about certain situations in the house. If Ed were to leave, maybe we'd see more of that side of her.

Yep, a person with low self esteem would've surely given up chasing someone he/she has put on a pedestal by now. The fact that she Jade persists suggests she doesn't see Ed as someone unattainable for her.

In her mind it's just a matter of time before Ed succumbs to feminine wiles like I'm sure she's done to other guys who've resisted/played hard to get.

I do think she is trying to 'wear him down' shall we say, but if she was more secure in herself she (A) wouldn't need to she would give up and move on and not keep getting kicked back and/or (B) take a different approach than just showing her hotness i.e. try to engage on him on another level .

The fact that she keeps going back for more based on what he has been doing/reacting suggests desperation to have him which is more a sign of insecurity surely?

Not necessarily..If she was desperate to have him I think she'd be having a tough time in there. She looks pretty happy/relaxed most of the time. Generally, people who like to chase, (go getter types) are confident people and whatever self doubt, insecurity they have is far from the surface.

Well I reckon the embarrassment of throwing yourself at a crush would nip unreciprocated sexual advances very quickly for anybody who claims to have low levels of self-esteem.

I think it is very telling that Jade is doing the complete opposite. It takes great belief in your ability (her looks perhaps?) to snare a man who continually rejects you.

I've seen this same scenario play out countless times from (relatively) 'attractive' women, who are confident that the target in their cross-hairs is just not seeing for whatever reason the wonderful complete package they are and dogged perseverance is key to make him finally realise that.

But I've never, not once, witnessed this from average and dare I say 'ugly' looking women.

Just my 2 bobs.

Okay, lets assume this is the case. She's being clever then, if this is all an act (which I still don't think so) then she's played the role very well. Doesn't mean I'm going to not like her because I still think that she is a nice person. :)
 
I think people are kind of failing to acknowledge that people can have different levels of self-esteem and confidence in different areas. To me it's pretty obvious that Jade has a lot of confidence in her looks and her ability to attract men because of it. However at the same time she's obviously got a complete lack of self-esteem when it comes to her intelligence, talents, etc.

I don't think you're too far off the mark Splashed. Who hasn't been accused of acting in the house?

And it's common knowledge that Jade has set her sights on carving out a career in the acting industry. What better opportunity to show was she's made of then to go on BB and demonstrate how convincing an actress she can be? Would not put it past her.

Well I called these sort of women shallow bimbos and they don't elicit any sympathy from me. There are plenty of great guys who'd like to go out with Jade but she'll never give them a chance based on how they look or because their social standing/pecking order isn't what she'd want in a mate.

I have a feeling you're just trying to bait and stir up trouble, so I will keep this brief:

Jade has made is exceedingly clear that if looks was what she cared about she would have gone for Drew. She's also made it extremely clear that her ex's have all been like Drew and Tim and as a result she wants someone who comes across as stable and "non-crazy" like Ed. I don't agree with her choice because obviously to us Ed is a boring git, but I think she's made it blatantly clear why she likes him. She talks about it a hell of a lot. How many more times do you need to hear why she likes him?

I knew you weren't personally talking about me but who were you addressing exactly? Who are these 'complainers'? I assumed it wasn't just one person. Vague, fuzzy statements like yours just irk me.
 
I never said anything about haters or being jealous, regardless of who I was talking too. Those words never left my mouth at all. I am all for a 'debate' but I am not going to debate against something I never bloody said lol
 
I'm just not convinced that she's this wholesome, humble down to earth chick all you fans of hers rave about. I just don't see it, apologies if you think those that don't share your view of a housemate are trying to 'stir' up trouble. In a way I feel the same towards viewers who incessantly pump her up all the time and make her out to be this awesome chick. I'll admit it gets under my skin, at least we share that in common. lol

People can claim whatever they like but it's their actions that speak loudest and Jade's actions have not make a positive impression on me to date, they simply serve to confirm what I've seen in the past from girls similar to Jade.

I guess we shall have to wait and see for the real Jade to stand up. Having Ed evicted and watching how she behaves without using that unrequited love pity card to her advantage would be very interesting and hopefully revealing!

I don't think so. She seems pretty confident when she talks and she knew she wasn't gonna be judged on looks alone on Italy's NTP. She's also not afraid to call herself an actress...and needless to say, this is her second reality show. I just don't buy the low self esteem thing, sorry.

You accused people of complaining about nothing. Usually when people do that it's cos they are hating or jealous.
 
I feel sorry for Jade as I think she has genuinely fallen for Ed. Ed is different to the guys she has dated, Ed represents security and stability. Qualities that Jade has lacked in her previous partners. She is throwing herself onto to Ed, whilst it is cringeworthy to watch, but Jade is following how she feels and acting on it. When she leaves big brother and has space from Ed, she will realise how pathetic she looked and will probably kick herself over it. Why I feel sorry for her is because it is happening on National TV. I also went through something similar, where a guy was giving me mixed signals and instead of seeing it for what it is, my heart danced to a different beat. In hindsight, I think 'wow what an idiot I was', but thankfully for me, it wasn't on National TV.

I don't think that Jade is coming from a space of "I'm too hot and everyone should want me". I think she is in an environment where the general consensus is that the sun shines out of Ed's #### and he is Prince Charming. When Ed entered the house at first, even I thought he was hot, but after watching him for awhile, the shine has worn off. We have seen Ed,s behaviour in throwing Jade under the bus. Ed should stop with the kissing and cuddling and telling Jade, NO, enough is enough. But instead he jumps into her bed and taken up permanent residence. So no doubt, Jade will think, they have grown closer as a couple.
I can't wait for the girl intruder, and I hope one of them is hot and single.

I totally agree with all of this and have also done the same, its a shame for her that its on TV and she is being judged for it. I am however one of those people who refuse to judge people for things out of their control. She doesn't get to see what we see. To her Ed is still that 'prince charming' that we all saw at first. Do I want her with Ed? No! Am I going to make fun of her and call her pathetic for acting on her emotions and basing them on how she see's Ed? No! I hope Ed goes home and I think he is a totally dog for how he is acting towards her. In the suit with Tim it was cringe worthy, but not because of Jade, it was because of the editing. It was 60 seconds of footage in the 12 hours they were in there so yes it bothered me but it bothered me that BB was making it look so bad. She didn't spend the whole 12 hours talking about Ed, we all know Tim well enough to know he would have told her to shut up lol.
