Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

Quick thought, guys, as I come out of lurking for a sec. Does anyone think Ed could possibly be following the T chick because he keeps reading about people saying nasty things about him and Jade, from their super fans? He favorites all of their tweets where they go on about other HM's being negative and maybe it's to see firsthand if she's indeed talking poorly about him and Jade. Just a thought I had.

Thanks, Gemini. Yeah, I think if nothing ever comes of him and Jade, she's been really kind to him and following T out of spite or anger doesn't sound right. I think he cares about Jade, as what I don't know, but I think he does and I could see him saying something to T, if he reads something mean. Let's be real, what she's had to say has done him no favors either.

That thought did cross my mind during the day - and may well be the case - but why now? Tahan has been retweeting and favouriting negative things about Jade since they left the house? And when looked in conjunction with Tahan's middle of the night following of Jade on instagram - it just seemed odd.

The reason I did wonder though was because of a comment the T follower apasipika had posted on Jade's photo. The photo was from the Friday night in Melb (the night befor T started follwoing J/nick's "where's Ed' night/the night we think something happened - but this comment was until a day or two later and I wonder if something triggered it and if Ed may have wanted to see exactly what was being discussed/favourited about him, as this comment is not the usual rant but quite logical and specific

jadealbany what happens if Ed falls in love with someone that he really likes, and not someone who imposed and chased after him? Would you continue to cling onto him disregarding his feelings for the other girl? Fact is you were persistent, hard not to like determined woman, even if it looked stalkerish. #justsaying #myopinion

(But I discounted this less negative train of thought as I still look for the worst in Ed - particularly 'Melbourne' Ed)

Exactly. I'm not sure if she realises that though. She seemed to be trying to say that Ed was the poor victim forced into doing what he did by the awful Jade, but in actuality her comments made Ed sound worse than Jade.

I assume Jade saw that comment given she seems to read them, which leads me to wonder something else...having had some down time now, I wonder if Jade's seen any of the series? I know she said she didn't want to watch it, but maybe reading comments like that all the time would spring her curiosity. I don't think for a second that Jade ever felt in the house that her and Ed's relationship was coming across like that comment is suggesting...so reading things like that might encourage her to watch to determine the inconsistencies between how she saw it in the house and how it was being portrayed.

I agree. The idea, from anyone, that Ed is so easily lead by Jade is silly. I know a lot of people don't like Ed, but I like him, I just think he seems to be overly concerned what other people think, whether it is the public both in and out the house or his friends and family. That's always been my impression.

As for Jade, I wish I could sit her down. Her self doubt has always made me sad. I believe her when she says she doesn't want to watch the show. I genuinely believe she is afraid watching is going to change the reality she created in the house and taint the experience. And, after all the comments, she thinks watching will change what she has built up in her head about her and ed. The same with Nick's comments and the families sentiments. I think she may have heard, but I think she is intentionally not going to go looking for what they actually said about her. Although, I'm REALLY hoping Nick stepped up and privately apologized to her. In my mind, there was no way around that, especially with her staying in his apt.

I can't wait for Jade to value herself more. When she does, she'll see men and the world so differently.

I'm not sure if she needs to value herself more when it comes to men in general. I mean Drew and Tim both made it pretty obvious to her that they were keen, Caleb did too at the start, hell, even Xavier told Tully he had a "crush". But it's not like she had no respect for herself and just hooked up with one of the others at the first sign that Ed wasn't keen. Yes I know there are idiots who keep trotting out the line about her jumping between Ed and Drew but I really truly do think Jade just wanted to spend time with Drew because she came to see him as her closest companion in there. If people can't see why their relationship would be flirty given the roots of their relationship was based on pretending to be a couple then I don't know. She made it very obvious to Drew that she liked Ed so if he got angry or upset then that's awful for him but he knew where Jade stood. She was always honest with him.

So yeah, I don't think Jade has self-respect issues when it comes to men in general. Just Ed really and I think most of that stemmed from her infatuation with him. Part of me wanted to slap her over the head everytime I heard her say he was too good for her, because it really is the opposite, but at the same time I could understand given the false bullshit everyone sprouted about Ed being some kind of Prince Charming in there. I should point out that I do not hate Ed (I found the videos he and Nick posted yesterday extremely funny), but jade' idea that he was too good for her was very off base.
 
No, you misunderstood me. It's not in relation to men. I think Jade has self esteem issues, always have . When she talked about her ex and just in different things she said. I do believe she will build herself up, and I hope the amount of love she has gotten since the show opens her eyes. I'm saying, when she values all she has to bring to the table, what she will and won't tolerate from people, men obviously included, will change. It has nothing to do with self respect, in terms of she was throwing herself at Ed. I think she has self esteem issues.

Don't get me started on her thinking she wasn't good enough for Ed. But, that is precisely my point, I don't think for a second that was the first time in her life she felt that way about a guy.

Great post.

I said the highlight part when they were still in the house - but I know a lot people just couldn't see that. The touching and cuddling was the only way they had ever interacted with each other because of the marriage task - not because Jade was playing up to Drew, and Drew knew it. He talked to Heidi and Tim about it one night when they were all up for the first eviction, and also to Heidi alone the day after the marriage task was revealed. He knew where they stood - there was no misunderstanding (residual bitterness, but no misunderstanding).

I believe her self-esteem issues start with her feeling inadequate at school - the night Drew comforted her about Jaz's farewell video you could see how badly not getting uni still affected her. While she said her teachers were amazing regarding helping with her dyslexia - she does still feel that.

She has also said that Milan and Italy's next top model were not good for self-esteem, and then the cheating boyfriend also added to the inadequacy she already felt.

I'm glad, though, that she recognises this and hopefully the BB and post-BB experiences will help build her up - she has an amazing inner strangth that I'm not sure she is fully aware of yet.
