I have always given Ed the benefit of the doubt when it comes to emotional stuff because he has the emotional vocabulary of a newt. I actually was struck, though, by how awkward ALL of his phrasing was, when it came to Jade. By now, you'd think he'd have it down pat.
He actually did better when he was on the radio show with his boss. They said, "so Ed, you fell in love in the house, is that right?" and he did his half laugh, said some gibberish, and then finally said, "I definitely struck up a relationship there and now out of the house that seems to be one thing everyone asks us, what's going on there." So they all ask, well what is going on there? Ed totally gets out of answering, because his boss says "I'm tipping that he's at her house now." and Ed laughs and says "She's actually here right now."
As for the Tim stuff, I was never a fan and nothing he's done since leaving the house has made me one. For all the talk of Ed's "obsession" with Tim, Tim was the one who set two different plans in motion to go after Ed and who is the one to continually talk shit about him since leaving the house. Tim has an inferiority complex 2 miles wide when it comes to Ed and he covers it up with his continual denigration of him. If Tim really didn't care about Ed, he wouldn't even bother with him, much like what Ed's done with respect to Tim. And the fact that Tim doesn't care that he is insulting Jade at the same time is also not a surprise, since we know he used Jade as a weapon before without a thought about its impact on her. His friendship is as shallow as puddle and just as long lasting as one on a summer's day.
