l feel like I'm in the minority today because l don't see anything wrong lol
LOL. They´re watching them![]()
I agree they are very different Gemini, and l don't want to see Jade feeling she has to fit into HIS world either.
But I think that as long as they don't impede each other's opportunities (who am l kidding I really only care that Ed doesn't impede hers ) then I see it as a positive to spend time together because that's when reality and what IS will be put in place of a 'what could be' scenario.
Even If it doesn't work out with Ed, I think she should be fine. Hopefully!!
Ditto.
I know you really want to say more though haha
I don't think she ever changed her opinions for Ed (or anyone else) I think she always had a good read on people from a logical standpoint, but would usually let her heart make her final decisions when it came to people. For the record I do agree with (most) of this. However, the pranks, silly group wars, breaking the rules, etc wasn't what I was referring to at all. (my bad for the misunderstanding by using a bad example). More that I felt like Jade often said stuff to Ed that she thought he wanted her to say, even though it completely contradicted everything we had previously seen of her. I remember a video where Ed was telling Jade that she needed to confront Tahan on her behaviour. Jade joked saying that she wished she could just write down all of the examples and list them off during an argument. Ed said something about Tim, and Jade very awkwardly and unconvincingly said something about how his "list" would be pages and pages long. When she said it Ed smiled happily, and she immediately de-tensed like she had gotten his approval. Now from what we saw for most of the show, Jade (rightly or wrongly) quite adored Tim, and even though I think at that stage he was pissing her off with the groups thing, I also extremely doubt she thought that Tim was that bad that he had pages and pages of deficiencies. I think I only remember that video vividly because I remember thinking "oh wow".
Likewise after the Boog/Tim fight when she told Ed that she was happy for him (Ed) that the others had seen what "Tim was really like". I'm sorry, but to me from what we saw, there's no way that was Jade's own opinion of Tim, but more what she knew Ed wanted to hear. The fact that she happily slotted back in as as Tim's BFF when Ed left, after we saw with her and Drew that she could be cold to someone when she didn't like what they were doing, shows me that she didn't personally share the same issues as Ed did re Tim, but she said she did so Ed would "approve".
I think there was a lot of other issues at play here, particularly how Tim and Drew's behaviour towards Jade changed when Ed was on the scene, however there's no doubt in my mind that Jade did to a degree change her views and opinions (at least openly) for Ed. I must say though that I was impressed with her refusing to "change" when Tim, Boog and Drew were trying to get her to fart, burp, or whatever. I wish she had that same confidence with Ed though to not need his approval...which to me at least she did to a degree.
Not alone, I think one photo doesn't tell the whole story. I have been happily married for more years than most of you have been alive, my man was very like Ed when I met him. He just didn't do the PDA thing at all, behind closed doors, different story. We also came from 2 different worlds.
Over the years, he became more at ease in public, and now holds my hand every where we go lol. I know in my case it was influence from his parents, as they were the same, so it might just be his 'way' and have nothing to do with how he feels towards her.
Just for clarification, I was never a huge Ed fan, I tolerated him for Jade's sake, but in saying that I don't think he is all bad.
I don't think she ever changed her opinions for Ed (or anyone else) I think she always had a good read on people from a logical standpoint, but would usually let her heart make her final decisions when it came to people.
My opinion, based on things she said not just to Ed but to other people, is that Jade knows exactly who and what Tim is, in terms of manipulation and game play in the house. For her, though, the knowledge, in her head, of these things, did not stop her from still feeling an emotional connection to him. So while she could often discuss and agree with Ed's view on an analytical level, and maybe even offer a different perspective, she would never be able to let that view completely replace her feeling of fondness for Tim.
A really good example, actually, is with Drew and is actually separate from Ed. When Drew betrayed Jade to Tahan, Jade raised Drew's untrustworthiness to Mikkayla. They reconfirmed that in another conversation we saw. Yet when Drew sat and chatted with Jade a few days later, Jade reported to Mikkayla how great it was to have a chat with him, even if she wasn't sure she could trust him. Later, when Drew went after Jade during that family dinner, she was incredibly hurt, telling Mikkayla she was done. And yet she STILL couldn't bring herself to nominate him. Analytically she could feel betrayed by him, she could see his behavior for what it was, but her heart still insisted on seeing him as a friend, as someone she valued. It's that conflict that she felt, with both Tim and Drew, that was at play, not Ed. Ed certainly tried to reinforce the analytical side, encouraged her to let it dictate her actions, but we never saw that actually happen.
After Ed left, we saw Jade still expressing conflicting opinions. For instance, we heard Jade telling Boog how great it was to get to know her, that she had really helped Jade during this time. Yet as Tim grew frustrated with the other 3, he expressed many negative opinions of them to Jade, and, because she wanted to support him emotionally,Jade ended up separated from the others and talking about how she had nothing to say to them. But when she was discussing Tim's behavior with the others after the prank melt down, Jade really had an insightful opinion into Tim's behavior, which wasn't all positive, yet she still ended up hanging with him the most. Ed wasn't there for any of this, yet she was still exhibiting the same logical-emotional duality that she had had when he was there.
And jiminiy crickets, I need to write shorter posts so I can keep up with this thread!

Some great insights here. Actually I really enjoyed reading it because I think it's helped me understand Jade's changes of stance on Tim and Drew a bit better. I'd never thought about it like that before - heart overpowering head - which I think is Jade to a tee.
Going on that line of thought you could argue her detractors that she isn't actually blinded by Ed at all, but rather her head may actually know deep down that he's not all that great and the whole thing doesn't reflect well on her but her heart is winning out again over her head. If there's two things Jade is consistent with it's loyalty (sometimes even to a fault) and letting her heart, emotions and feelings win out over her head. Despite what people say I don't think she's stupid at all, but sometimes it just seems that way to people because she gets her heart and emotions dictate her actions. And you've gotta commend her for having the guts to play that way.
