Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

It seems like you're not trying to understand what I'm saying. When did I label her an obsessive stalker? If I ever did please take it with a grain of salt. I said she's clearly hung up on him and I'm disappointed in her. She's on big brother and should know better. I am baffled by her behaviour but that does not mean I take her as a legit bunny boiler. Please!

I'm wondering what you think Jade should be doing to occupy her time in the house.
She's formed relationships with others in the house. She has supported others in time of stress and emotional upheaval. She participates in games and activities with everyone. She appears to speak her mind when she feels it's necessary, like with the shopping issues and even in this latest challenge video regarding the ranking of HMs.

Jade has stupidly fallen head over heels for a guy who so clearly doesn't deserve her, but I don't see how that act itself has hindered her BB "experience", which is, on some level, about feeling as much as doing. I think she'll be embarrassed for being so blind to Ed's faults but I should hope she doesn't regret allowing herself to feel the emotions she's so clearly feeling, no matter how unreciprocated they may be.

I don't understand why you keep changing your tune and blaming it on other posters for not understanding your point. I don't think anybody has said that they're not disappointed that Jade feels so strongly for Ed. No fans of Jade like the fact that she likes Ed so much. But your posts referring to her as an obsessive stalker and saying editing has nothing to do with her portrayal as that is what I strongly disagree with. Like I said before, all she's done is fallen hard for a guy in the house. She's absolutely harmless. Certainly not the obsessive stalker she's made out to be.

You misunderstood that! I was trying to make a point about editing alone not being able to create an obsessive stalker type character. Editing can't make a mountain out of a molehill. People were implying just that saying they were so worried about what BB will do next. It wasn't the best wording. I did not mean to call her an obsessive stalker!

If that wasn't your intention to label her as an obsessive stalker, despite how strongly your wording suggested that, then I sincerely apologise for jumping to that conclusion.

Now that I've gone a re-read the most recent posts I think the point everyone (and myself) is trying to make is that obviously Jade has fallen hard for Ed. It's certainly not a good thing and she is certainly being silly in the sense that being so in love she's giving the producers a lot of footage that they can use against her. However that just doesn't change the fact that they are choosing what footage is shown in order to strongly amp up the "Jade is obsessed with Ed and does nothing but obsess over him" angle. Even people who aren't Jade fans have noticed it. I have no doubt in my mind that they've gone into overdrive with it recently in order to promote this whole Jade/Ed/Maddie thing. The obvious cracks at Jade's intelligence in articles pertaining to Maddie and the completely misleading LF update writing further cements that.

This is something else Jade has been unwise about. She has said many times she sees herself as unintelligent. What would possess her to say such a thing on national TV? If you say something enough times, people will start to believe it. Jade should know that.

But it seems like to many people here Jade has no flaws and it's all evil BB's fault. In that case, I should stay far from this thread.

Jade says such a thing because she believes it is true BECAUSE learning is such a struggle for her. She is insecure and believes she is stupid. In that ridiculous kissing in the rain video, she tells Ed that he's a smart cookie and he tells her she may be the smartest of them all and she laughs and says no one has ever called her smart before.

One thing that the editors COULD have done to present a balanced image of Jade is to actually air her struggles. She's spoken about them recently to Justynne and evidently in the past to the HMs, because Tim mentions that they try to accommodate Jade's difficulties during shopping. But, strangely enough, it doesn't make it to the show, even when her intelligence featured in a major storyline.

It is such a shame that Jade isn't closely guarding her image and watching everything she says so that people will only think of her in glowing terms. Insecurity and unrequited love seem to be too real for many viewers of the show.

I'd like you to point out all the people who think Jade has no flaws, because if my name is on the list, I can easily refute that. What I do think is that Jade's flaws are often difficult to watch, because I feel like they come from a wounded place that is very real. At the end of the day, though, I'll take Jade and her very real flaws over those that try desperately to hide their real selves from the world.

*Sigh*...okay, that's another thing. I don't believe Jade is as insecure as she makes out to be *ducks.* She has shown to be a very gutsy person in my opinion. But I won't get into all that. Okay, I'm just gonna stop hanging around here. lol

I do not support that thread in any way. Just because I believe Jade is a flawed person does not mean I think she's a skank. Gee, what is wrong with some people?

Judging by the bad edits, rude articles and obvious dramatisation of things BB has been doing about Jade, this seems to be the case and I don't blame Drade 2013 for thinking like that because i personally agree as well.

I totally agree as well.Honestly,Jade has NO control over which of her personal interactions are shown so yes there is bias against her.

It makes her seem obsessive like all she does all day is talk about him and makes it look like she's the only one at fault. It's takes two to tango, and she's certainly not sitting around obsessing about him all day. I just wish they paint it for what it is.

Nobody is saying that Jade can do no wrong. Honestly. We've all expressed annoyance with her Ed infatuation. She has a lot of faults...but I don't think that means she deserves to be pained by the editing team as part obsessive stalker part blonde bimbo. Neither are even close to the money.

No, they are welcomed. That's why we're having this debate. Obviously not everyone is going to feel the same, but you don't have to personally attack posters (which is what started this arguement btw) and leave a thread just because people don't agree with you.

No you're one of the few who's up for a debate. Most people here have put her on a pedestal and I don't believe in that. I still stand by what I say and you can too but just don't 'huh' me after I've made some reasonable points. Don't think it's fair.

Well that's another reason why I love her as she is so humble and caring.Her empathy for others even for those that wish her ill is incredible.

Thanks. Even though I disagree with you I think you've shown a lot of maturity. We can agree to disagree. I've said it again, I believe Jade is flawed but I wish her well and would love for her to see things clearly as you do as well.

I don't think anyone believes Jade is perfect. I do feel though that she gets judged harshly for being human. Yes she knows she's on BB but I find it to be a positive that she's just being herself, flaws and all, and isn't pouring on a front for the cameras. She's not perfect, but I like her, and I like expressing that in her appreciation thread.

I do believe that when Ed goes (hopefully before her) they'll show more like her conversations with Tim, and her interactions with others.

Yes! This absolutely. You've somehow managed to describe my feelings exactly in a couple of sentences which I've never been able to do. I get annoyed when people say that Jade fans put her on a pedestal. I know she has flaws and that's exactly why I like her. Like you said, she's just being herself and I find that refreshing. It's much better than HMs like Ed or Ben that are too scared to be themselves and not display their perfect images that we don't know who they really are. She's a sweet, genuine, and loyal girl that is obviously a little naive and has no idea when it comes to men. Is she perfect? Hell no. But is she still incredibly likable? To me at least absolutely.

Everyone seems to think it's bad footage but I can't see it? Many people say she's getting all defensive and doesn't like Maddie but I didn't get that vibe at all. Is she not allowed to worry or be cautious anymore? I think Jade is one of the only ones in there being true to herself. Everyone else is too concerned with bringing each other down, except the sisters, Ben and Nathan
