Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

I'm the opposite to Jade -I hate being in direct sunlight these days, and avoid it as much as I can (not out of concern for my skin - I just think I may be part-vampire). Unfortunately, my specialist and GP advise me to lie out in the sun as often as possible, due to dangerously low vitamin D levels (supplements are only of minor help for me).

She still looks great in that pic.

You look at the picture and that's what you get? Lol
You sure you're 'Straight' Edge Society? :p
Just kidding around, I agree about people's preoccupation with tanning.

Well I thought the "good lord, she is hot!" went without saying. Maybe I should replace the Straight Edge pledge at the bottom of my posts with something about how fine Jade looks. Probably something about Delta as well, despite her questionable Oral B ads. But aside from the obvious health risks, I am just not a fan of tanning as a look.

No, I agree with you 100% here. I'm a recovering tanning addict myself and I really wish I had stopped sooner. I have so much sun damage it is a massive pain in the arse getting it fixed and is not cheap, I still have relapses but the major catalyst for me quitting was watching someone die from a melanoma, kind of took me over the line.

That said, Jade's body looks smoking hot in that pic and I have exactly zero objections with it.

That's great that you're doing the right thing. It takes a lot of strength to quit something you are addicted to, it's very impressive and good that you doing the right thing for your health. All the best with it.

Thanks for that, sorry I don't mean to sound so dramatic with this talk of "quitting" but it is a vice nonetheless and ultimately just as damaging for my health as many other vices that non-straight edge people may indulge in. I am still getting used to being pale myself but I am finding more and more that I love that more pale look on others anyway, hopefully everyone else catches up and a tan becomes completely passe - it seems to be slowly going that way.

Just don't go to far and ignore bone health - calcium needs vitamin D to be absorbed into the bones, so without adequate vitamin D bone strength is compromised.

Moderation (in all things except chocolate and Baileys! :))

Oh yes, good tip. If only I could spread my sun exposure out evenly amongst everyone, especially people like yourself. I had my Vitamin D levels checked semi-recently and as I would have expected they were pretty good. I barely drink milk and I never really eat green veggies so I do worry about my bone strength, hopefully in some weird way my previous sun worshipping evens things out?

And yes, everything in moderation - especially moderation.

Lol I was just teasing anyway. I actually agree with you about the whole skin-charring thing. The benefits of the outdoors doesn't have to include colouration of skin layers. I used to work with someone years ago who constantly told me that I needed to get a tan. Years later my skin is glad I ignored.

I have very fair skin - I burn badly within about 30 minutes in the sun if I don't wear sunscreen. I've got a lot of "what don't you go outside?" "why don't you get a tan?" in my life. If I go outside without sunscreen, I go lobster. I don't tan. I do go outside, I just wear sunscreen.

No, I know :D. But its probably a good thing she is tanned and not pale, my eyes would probably bug out of my head. You know, except for the possibility it could result in health issues.

Man, I just want to cut that weave out of Jade's hair. As for the FB, she can change some settings, but beyond that, these people will always exist. It's the age we live in, unfortunately. At some point, she'll probably stop reading even the good comments, just to avoid the bad ones. It sucks, but the more popular she gets, the more the negativity will increase.
