Ed's is just a random who has never met him, but has created a whole happy little friendship with him in her mind (and also a lesser one with Nick). At least when she was fixated on Caleb, and thought he was her 'special guy friend' with 'the possibility of more', she had actually met him. Well its good she is fake getting to know the family. That is the foundation of any successful fake relationship.

With Ed though she said she liked him because he was together, stable, and she bought into the ridiculous "Prince Charming" reputation that Heidi and co gave him. Obviously that wasn't to be because most of the audience and half the HMs realised that Ed wasn't nearly as great as Jade seemed to think, and she seems to have worked that out on the outside with her comments re Ed and the house distorting reality since the breakup...however I can still understand why she'd go for him (even if I hoped she'd wake up to him a bit quicker than she did). I can't get over people who still think she was batshit crazy for not going for Drew. When you're put into that situation with a guy that reminds you of an ex that screwed you over, a guy that is a self-confessed bad boyfriend, it's human nature to be weary. What's that saying? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

I do think looks played a part in Jade's attraction to Ed, but there were certainly a lot of other parts to it as well. At the end of the day, looks and physical attraction are very important. You can meet the nicest, funniest all round great guy but if the physical attraction isn't there it's not going to work. You can try, you can force yourself to give them a chance for all their other qualities, you can beat yourself up for not being attracted to them because they're so great...but it doesn't make a difference. Physical attraction is important.


I should just add on the Matt thing: I'm not 100% sure Jade even knew Matt was in a relationship when she was flirting with him at the beginning. She and Drew came in a day late (after the getting to know you stuff had been done) and they weren't on the same side of the house after that either. I recall a few conversations she had with Drew about Matt and from what they were saying I didn't get the impression that either of them realised he was in a relationship. And on top of that let's not forget that way Matt often acted around Jade too. I remember early when she was in the HW house she was showering in the backyard and all the guys were watching it and loving it and Matt was the main offender. He also acted quite flirty with her. It must not have bothered Matt too much considering he was often the first one to comfort her when she was upset and they're still friends now. Not cool by Jade the flirting with him at the start if she was aware his relationship status was serious (we knew she likes to flirt), but come on, that one was a two-way street.

Silly me of course I should know by now that Jade can do no wrong. She's never jealous, petty, superficial, dumb, greedy etc... She's in short incapable of doing anything that can be interpreted as 'sinful', acts that other mere human mortal sinners commit on a regular basis.


Why don't we just get the Catholic church to canonize Perfect little Miss Jade and appoint her as the official First President of Australia. :D

And in regards to her not being shallow because she dismissed Drew as boyfriend material. Clearly we all have a 'type'. Drew is a pretty boy but he does not possess the toned physique that Jade obviously swoons and goes crazy over. Jade has a thing for 'beefcakes' and I think that perhaps one day she'll wake up and realise there's more to guys than their biceps, that is all I'm saying.

How does saying I think Jade was attracted to Ed for both his looks and other reasons as well equate to "she can do no wrong"?

The entire point of my post was that obviously looks played a part of her attraction to him but that's completely natural. I'd find it weird if she didn't. We're all shallow and driven by physical attraction at some level.

Yeah but IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, the range of guys she's attracted to is very very very narrow. Not to mention the fact that they tend to be douche bags of the highest order (beefcakes), no wonder she keeps on getting hurt. I guess what I'm trying to say is that she should grow up a little bit maturity wise, and maybe just maybe she could be lucky in love for once. That's obviously entirely up to her, her happiness does not impact me in any way. :)
 
I get you have a massive chip on your shoulder about Ed's "type", but we really don't know enough about Jade's history to make the assumption that she's always going to pick the wrong type and be unlucky in love. She said herself that Ed was completely different to who she usually goes for in both the looks and personality department so that anomaly in itself is probably enough to say that her perception of her "type" is a lot less rigid than you think.

If it doesn't impact on you, why do you keep on going on about it? It's been 6 months since the show finished, I would give you example, but that would give you too many jollies. She was attracted to Ed on a TV show where there was max 20 other people - did you never go on camp/tour when you were younger? I don't know what you are going on about, I am guessing it is Dan, but there is no evidence they are together, and I don't think any of us know who her ex is, unless you know him personally, and can provide evidence for the rubbish you keep going on about, I suggest you just get over it. No one here is going to disagree Ed is douchebag, but I'm pretty sure 99% of women have fallen for a douchebag at some stage. Look at Tahan - I don't like the girl but she can do far better than the arrogant douchebag she is living with. And yes, I agree, they should both move on from the likes of Ed and David. They are wankers. No girl deserves that

The Ed who only ever posts, comments or favourites anything that directly involves himself?? The well-round and socially aware and involved Ed who, my his own words, has a life 'consumed' by coffee, clothes and food???
