Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

I don't know if it's true or not, but if so it looks like Ed's pretty upset about how he and Jade were portrayed and that he's determined to be there for her and protect her from the haters when she gets out.

I was against Ed in the BB house because to me he always came across as so emotionally stunted and it made Jade look bad and caused her to cop a lot of criticism.

If though he does have feelings for her and he truly wants to explore something with her then I'll be glad she has him for support.

It'll be up to them though then which is a good thing.. without everyone else weighing in with their opinions lol.

There was a tweet a bit further down to say they were at the show and he left his seat before the show ended.
I am sure he will sit down and have a chat with Fabio and make his true intentions known.

I really want to know how it all works out.
Not so I can judge or anything, just so I know Jade is happy..

The tabloids will be all over it. I hope they can have some peace to enjoy a normal relationship with out the media hounding them constantly. In the Western Australian article when he said he has already put the wheels in motion. My thoughts were he will move to an unknown address as I am sure they know his current one.
 
I honestly die laughing every time I see someone say that the show is rigged for Jade to win. Have they watched it? She's certainly there in spite of the producers not because of them.

Yeah, in the LF thread. I was just like "LOL no, just no". When even non-Jade fans are seeing that they hate her you know it must be pretty bad. It's a miracle she's survived this long.

I've rolled my eyes so many times today I'm surprised they're still in my head!

Of course they don't admit that it's a credit to her though..
My delete button is getting a workout today because I keep thinking ' I just can't be bothered arguing'..

In terms of setting wheels in motion, the best thing he could do, if he has any intention of being in a relationship with her, is get them on the same publicity tour whirlwind. They'll be traveling all over the place for at least the next month, so if they could travel together, they would have a much better chance of making it work.

I read that FB post and I don't know how much credence I can put in it. At the same time, I could see Ed being upset about their portrayal on the show (and certainly the way he and she were the targets of much of BB's devilry), and I can see him speaking about that because it's not really an emotional issue. If it is a fake story, the one thing the poster got right was the lack of feeling words from him. All feelings actually come from the poster and are attributed to Ed in a paraphrased way.

It's interesting that Ed had a 3 hour conversation with Tully on Thursday night/Friday morning, after the Halloween episode aired. If there is anyone who could relate to his experience and give him advice on overcoming the bad reputation from BB (not to mention the relationship issues) it would be her.

I know what you mean about not being sure how much credence to give it - the sceptical part of me just keeps thinking why would he open up like that to a stranger before talking with Jade first. I'd like to keep an open mind, but at the same time I think hmm.. maybe.

I do think Ed would be struggling though with the negative comments on the outside because a big part of his persona was about not doing anything that would affect his public perception. So that would be a lot to deal with. I don't wish ill on him at all or any of the housemates to be honest.

Agree. Obviously he is concerned with people's perceptions of him and must be struggling to overcome or contain anything negative. Really not sure what will happen with JadEd but hope either way, in private between the two of them, he will be upfront and genuine, and take care of Jade's feelings.
But can they please have THAT conversation on Wednesday after she wins. :)

I reached that point long ago. You all have way more stamina than me! I applaud your determination to try to set the record straight, even if it's a losing battle.

He really didn't open up about any real feelings, if the post is to be believed. He says he wants to see what happens, which he's pretty much said in every interview. And as much as I think he's repressed emotionally, I don't think he wants Jade to be hurt. I can see him being very frustrated that she got a "trick" that was simply to hurt her and undermine her confidence. It was nothing that she could do anything about except stew over, because the person involved wasn't there. I mean, the trick was to be expected because they really had nothing on her to use with the other HMs, but still, it was a bit cruel.

The fact that Ed loved to talk about how other people were not being ethical (BB in this case) with anyone who would give him a sympathetic ear in the house lends some legitimacy to the content of the post.

These things pretty much go together. I think one of the things that BB hated about Ed (and Jade) is that once the relationship got going, they gave very little in the way of drama. Even when BB was questioning Jade about Ed's good-bye, he was clearly looking for Jade to say that she hoped he would tell her he loved her, and she didn't bite. BB did everything to cause conflict or drama within the relationship itself, between sticking Madaline in to target Ed, the Surly date, the sleeping in separate beds, the "dilemma", and the Tahan as the 3rd wheel trick. None of it worked. I suspect that BB decided to let them sleep in the same bed again because they hoped the "I love you" would bring the conflict. Instead, they seemed to have dealt with it with a minimum of drama, though BB milked it for all it was worth. Ultimately, that was BB's solution to the lack of conflict...they created it through editing whenever possible.

Anyone who doesn't think that BB has screwed with Jade simply has to look at the whole "dilemma" incident. When it was obvious that Ed chose for Jade to be allowed to grace his bed (grrrr), BB hid that fact and instead pretended that Jade had snuck into his bed. They even framed it around the girls gossiping about Jade playing a game of waiting for him, even though the girls would have known that she was waiting for him because he had chosen for her to do so because they were sleeping in his bed.(grrr).

I think being able to stay cool in the face of BB's repeated attempts to break her as well as some very shady editing is a pretty solid reason why Jade deserves to win BB. Others may have played the game, but Jade survived the game that BB played with her.
