If Essendon are so innocent why has hero boy Hird hired a lawyer?

What a dumb thing to say! Anyone who is in any form of trouble has the right to a lawyer, innocent or guilty! What, you think that only guilty people are assigned lawyers? LOL!

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toron...ombudsman-ontario-investigation-decision.html

The police are being investigated in what has been labeled by some a killing that might not have had to be killed.

The 18-year-old had mental issues and was holding a small knife, but was not a threat to anyone nearby, since everyone had left the streetcar he was on. He was standing near the operator's station, at the top of the front steps, a few feet inside the doorway.

The policemen yelled at him to drop the knife, but he just stood there and did nothing.

From about 15-20 feet away, one policeman shot him three times, and Sammy Yatim fell to the floor of the empty streetcar. The policeman waited a few seconds, then shot him six more times. In the videos, you can see his body being kicked round and rag dolling by the bullet impacts.. FFS

Then, a second policeman approaches the inert body and shoots it with a Taser.

Shortly after, CPR is attempted, without success.

Their initial investigation hasn't ruled out if he died from the first three hits or the second three hits, or the taser while he was bleeding out..

He's more then likely dead I would think. Why even bother with the CPR?

Sad world we live in.

As for the (now highly politicized and left-ardianism favouring) "Red Cross", I ceased supporting them when they chose to buy into the biggest lie, scam, and fraud of modern times, Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming.

Anyhoo, not long now til "Clean Up Australia Day" / September 7th.

BROADCASTER Kate Langbroek has revealed her young son's three-and-a-half year battle with leukaemia.

Langbroek said: "I didn't dare to think, that I would be tucking in my 10 year old son. I feel so blessed that I am and that we are all here.''

Langbroek thanked her morning show sidekick and longtime friend Dave Hughes for his support.

She also thanked all the media who knew about Lewis's battle for respecting their privacy.

lols @ the subjective sanctimony coming from those with no doubt doubtful sex appeal and who also seem ever ready to invent if not pounce upon the slightest reason or excuse to either not believe or to reject that which is good and righteous and generally a better example of humanity than themselves.

"Haters gunna hate" (especially those who reject The Way, The Truth, and the Life/Light) and all that ... as I saw exampled elsewhere today and was wonderfully responded to with this:

So you’re NOT going to vote for a Rhodes scholar OR a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney OR for a Master of Arts as a Rhodes Scholar at The Queen’s College, Oxford OR for someone who does more work for charity than most other Australians OR for someone who lives with aboriginal communities to serve them and see what their problems are OR for a volunteer life saver OR for a volunteer fire fighter WHO IN YOUR WORDS IS A GOOD BLOKE.

So you’re either going to vote for a proven liar and cheat or for the Green NIGHTMARE or vote informal!!

Truly, you are part of the problem why Australia is currently a BASKET CASE!!

The ONLY person that has the PROVEN capability to turn this around and make Australia PROSPER once again is the “mad monk” as some are prone to call him. Says more about their (and your) lack of intelligence than anything else.

Suck it up PRINCESS - the “mad monk” will soon be in charge WITHOUT your vote - see here: http://oddsscanner.dailytelegraph.c...alian-politics/federal-election-winning-party

This is where the REAL indication of who’s going to win.

Anyhoo, the Real News is that, for at least the 2nd year running, Oz's future PM devoted his time the other day to guide a blind person on some sort of charity run then, after having to confront the usual hostile/left-ardian MSM and all that, etc etc etc, then went and casually wiped the floor with KRudd in the debate thingo where he kept to the agreed upon format and brought no notes and proceeded to show why he is clearly a far more suitable PM for Oz than the lying cheating note-laden rool breaking utterly unfit KRudd who prolly spent most of his day looking in a mirror and/or playing with his hair in virtually the same way a certain Greenazi/totalitarian/Chancellor of Germany used to play and flick his around, rather than doing anything even remotely charitable or community oriented.

From 2008 ... http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/our-kate-voted-sexiest-mp/story-e6frea6u-1111117913853

One Liberal MP was very clear about the single biggest influence on his decision to pursue a political career: "All the left-wing teachers at school and at university," was the answer.

Federal MPs were very clear about another issue, too: parliament's "sexiest" MP is Adelaide-based Ms Ellis. The woman who also is Australia's youngest-ever federal minister snared around 25 per cent of votes cast - even half-a-dozen Coalition MPs agreed she was the parliament's sexiest.

One Labor MP suggested television footage of "her legs descending down to her seat in Question Time" played a part in the success of the Kevin07 campaign.

Speaking from her Adelaide office yesterday, Ms Ellis admitted to being "quite flattered" by the vote.

"IN KILLER heels and a tight leather dress, federal minister Kate Ellis is taking a bold new approach to her campaign to improve young women's body image."

:D

Anyhoo you ever ready to "tut-tut" about Tony types, aren't you supposed to be busy giggling and fantasising over in the "Ed" and "Drew" threads ?

Bwahahaha at the default answer. Because I think it is inappropriate for the boss to call his work colleague sexy it must be because I am not sexy, lol schoolboy logic. Nothing subjective about it.

... I think it is inappropriate for the boss to call his work colleague sexy ...

Your editing finally over but you still go with that, which not only is not what happened or was said but also is highly unlikely to happen where you work anyway, eh ? :D

Anyhoo, I'm quite happy for my work colleagues to think of me of young, feisty, and having gender appeal. Fortunately (and obviously unlike for you and where you work) my work place is staffed by adults rather than immature giggling twits or ever-ready-to-take-offence sour faced authoritarian handwringers.

The folk I work with are able to maturely both give and take compliments relating to physical appearance whether it be changes in hair style or an outfit or whatever.

So sorry to learn that your own work place is such a miserable and soul-less place where everyone tip toes around on egg-shells and is in constant fear of being reported to the Political Correctness police.

... or is it just you that everyone else is careful around ? :p

Anyhoo++ back to the non-news of what the dreaded AbbottAbbottAbbott said.

I for one reckon it is great that he says that sort of everyday common vernacular type of stuff, particularly when it sends the handwringing left-ardian media (and folk like you :D) into a snit, tiz, and tail-spin.

Why ?

Because it becomes a great reminder to the majority of Oz who are NOT like those of the handwringing left-ardian media (etc) as to what killjoy miseries are lurking out there ever-ready to try and inflict their dull, colourless, boring, un-natural and authoritarian ideology upon the rest of us.

Anyhoo++, dunno about the rest of you but I'd rather be a workafrolic than a workaholic. And so I am ... and I don't mind saying that my workplace is all the better for it and that there is a positive flow on effect as a result.

Forums are another matter though ... and thus, balance is achieved. :D

I get this weird feeling whenever you make your frequent references to my life as if you actually know anything about it. <shudder>

My workplace has about 100 employees just in my building, mainly nurses but also various other disciplines, there about 50/50 males and female and the ages range from about 20 - 70 years old. We are a pretty diverse bunch from lots of different backgrounds and with varying political beliefs but despite this we are a very happy workforce in what can be a very stressful environment. We respect each professionally and as people and don't need others to make reference to each others sex appeal to feel good about ourselves or to make the workplace fun.

We have very strict policies and procedures in place to protect everyone, in fact in my 18 plus years I can only think of one incident related to sexual harassment. A senior nurse showed a under-grad student nurse his "photography portfolio" which was pretty risqué and then asked her to be his model. He was hauled over the coals for that and rightly so, I believe he got a final warning, he ended up leaving.

Nothing wrong with a man or woman making reference to their partner as sexy, or a bunch of people in a bar having a private discussion talking about someone being sexy. However most of us don't need or want constant affirmation from random bosses and workmates to feel good about ourselves.

^ Yup, certainly sounds like an unnatural and miserable place to be and work to me.

Oh well, "your life, your choice". <shrug>

Anyhoo, at least it helps explain a bit why you hang out in these forums and correspond with the likes of me. It's obvious that your offline world leaves you starved for the company and example of Real and Honest and uncaged independent men like me ... not that you'd ever admit it mind you. :D

ButOfCourse you're welcome.

How jealous you must be of the wonder family full of truly beautiful community minded people and fine examples of humanity that The Abbott family are, come to think of it.

The claim

In arguing that Tony Abbott will cut "to the bone" spending on health and education, Kevin Rudd has no more serious charge than the one he wheeled out again in the debate on Sunday night.

"That's what Mr Abbott did when he was health minister, when he took $1 billion out of hospital funding for the states at a time when he had responsibility to oversee that expenditure," Rudd said.

It's a charge with an impressive lineage. Wayne Swan, Lindsay Tanner, Penny Wong, Nicola Roxon, Tanya Plibersek and Julia Gillard have all repeated it. It was even printed on a 2010 Labor campaign leaflet. It read: "Tony Abbott cut $1 billion from health and hospitals. Don't let Abbott cut health funding again."

Supporting evidence

It goes back to the 2003 budget. It delivered not a cut in hospital funding (as Rudd says) or a cut in health and hospital funding (as Labor says) but an increase in hospital funding for the next five-year intergovernmental agreement. The increase was around $1 billion less than had been foreshadowed a year earlier, but it was an increase nonetheless.

The 2003 budget papers explained the increase in funding for public hospitals was less than had been foreshadowed partly because "more services are being provided in private hospitals following the introduction of the government's 30 per cent private health insurance rebate".
How it stacks up

It was an increase, not a cut. Under the new agreement, states were offered “up to an additional $10 billion to help run public hospitals,” but instead of being offered up to $43 billion as had been foreshadowed they were offered up to $42 billion.

It was a "cut" only in the sense that someone who is led to believe they will get a pay rise and then doesn't get all of it believes they have had a pay cut.

And Abbott wasn't the health minister at the time. He was the minister for employment and workplace relations.

Abbott became health and ageing minister on October 7 2003, five months after the 2003 budget and one month after the last of the disgruntled state and territory health ministers signed up to the new agreement.

Kay Patterson was the health minister who stared down the states in the bitter and protracted dispute, a fact Rudd tacitly acknowledged on Sunday night when he used convoluted language to say Abbott took "$1 billion out of hospital funding for the states at a time when he had responsibility to oversee that expenditure".

Abbott didn't set up the agreement that was worth $1 billion less than expected. He merely presided over it.

Statistics compiled by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare show that under Abbott, commonwealth funding of public hospitals climbed 4 per cent in 2003-4, 7 per cent in 2004-5, 4 per cent in 2005-6 and 6 per cent in 2006-7.
Finding

Tony Abbott neither “took $1 billion out of hospital funding for the states” nor presided over a cut.

The charge is serious and personal.

A PolitiFact rating of "false" applies where a statement is not accurate.

PolitiFact rates Kevin Rudd's claim that Tony Abbott took $1 billion out of hospital funding for the states "false".
