i wasnt talking about australia or who i voted for!! gosh. why do u need to twist everything around. just like how you twist your bonds panties which only losers buy which makes you a loser for commenting about voting.

make sense? NO LOLOL

thanks muddy thats a really funny comment :)

i wasnt talking about australia or who i voted for!!

Yet that is actually part of the topic.

The "sounds messy" going on in Greece is what happens when socialists run out of other people's money to spend. If you have voted for and intend to continue to vote for the ALP / Greenazis, you too are one of the "mess" creators/supporters, for they too are socialists busy spending other people's money and shall continue to do so for as long as they can until it runs out.

Do you realise how much debt the ALP / Greenazis have loaded upon Oz and any children you might have and how quickly they managed to do it ... and how little there is to show for it ?

Do you realise that when Swan talks about a surplus budget, it has nothing to do with paying off the massive debt he and his ilk have enslaved Oz to but rather merely reducing the need to continue to borrow huge amounts of money every day just to keep this country from rioting in the streets like has happened in Greece ?

Do you realise how long it will take Oz to pay back our incredible debt (that has nothing worthwhile to show for it) and its interest even if, by some miracle, he did actually manage to achieve a surplus budget at the kind of numbers he said he would aim for in the years after next ?

Put it this way, the debt the socialists (ALP / Greenazis) have enslaved us to, will soon be over TWO HUNDRED BILLION dollars. Many millions of dollars are continuing to be borrowed Every Single Day.

Wayne Swan says he hopes to achieve budget surpluses after next year of only around $4 billion.

Need me to do the math for you ?

Well, let's just pretend there is no interest on that $200 BILLION debt the socialists have hung around our necks for no good reason at all. Let us also pretend that (a) Wayne Swan does actually manage to achieve a real budget surplus and (b) he (God Forbid) continues to get the opportunity to do so for the following years he has predicted $4 billion dollar surpluses. Let us also then continue with those $4 billion dollar surpluses until that MASSIVE $200 BILLION debt (sans interest) is paid off and we are back to the, what was it, a $40+ BILLION dollar surplus that the socialists inherited from the conservatives.

4 into 200 goes 50, yes ?

Yup, not including interest and with Oz doing NO more borrowing but rather instead managing to pay for everything it needs INCLUDING servicing its massive debt, IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST FIFTY YEARS FOR *US* TO PAY BACK WHAT THE SOCIALISTS HAVE BORROWED AND HAVE NOTHING TO WORTHWHILE TO SHOW FOR IT.

Add another 10+ years on top of that to get us back into the position we were before Rudd, Gillard, Swan, Brown, & Milne got to hold the purse.

That makes over 60 years ... and doesn't include interest.

In short, the socialists (who you voted for) have sent this once great country down the same rabbit hole that the socialists and their supporters have already delivered Greece to.

Verstehen Sie ?

Are you "as mad as hell and not going to take this any more", yet ?

Or are you just blithely going to continue on as normal and continue to pretend nothing is wrong and nothing bad or "messy" is going to happen here in Oz ?

The problem with Greece is people (especially the rich) not wanting to pay taxes. That combined with a lot of corruption.

Yes, the current Australian government spends money. Spending money on infastructure is necessary. We pay taxes to help cover the cost of this. What is wrong with that?

Remember this iconic photo, even if you weren't born back in the 70's it is one of those photos that pops up from time to time when the Vietnam war is discussed. The photos is 40 years old today

hope you had fun writing that ders, cuz im not reading it.

thats a very iconic picture eliza, its very touching to see how she's got on in life.

if anyone in perth has heard the news story about the man that was murdered and they have 3 people in custody? and they are searching 2 houses. yea well.. one of those houses is in my street!! its apparently where 2 of them lived, although the man was murdered in another suburb. then do you wanna know what else is scary, my friend came to pick me up last week and got lost and ended up at THAT house, and knocked on the door and everything to see if i was there. then when I saw her car there i walked down and we sat in the driveway for a while getting the gps ready and all that. hahaha omgosh this was before they were arrested, can you imagine they knew what they'd done and then us strangers come bashing on their door. maybe they thought we were plain clothed police!

anywhoo the cops have been in the street for 3-4 days now. whole place is blocked off. that is my little bit of excitement.

^^good job you are moving soon lol, I think you could do without that kind of excitement.

Glad, the court overruled the parents but I also feel sorry for them, it must be a terrible position to be in.
Judge overrules parents to save life of young South Australian girl

Pediatric oncologist Dr Petra Ritchie leaves the Adelaide Supreme Court after testifying that the young girl would die without an urgent blood transfusion. Picture: Campbell Brodie

DOCTORS have made an urgent plea to the Supreme Court to help save the life of a Jehovah's Witness girl dying of leukaemia.

On Friday, Justice Richard White ordered the girl, 4, receive treatment, including a blood transfusion to which her parents had objected on religious grounds.

Paediatric oncologist Dr Petra Ritchie said without treatment the girl "will die ... I would say in weeks". Dr Ritchie said that the girl, who was diagnosed with cancer of the blood and bone marrow on Monday, had a 90 per cent chance of survival if she received treatment immediately.

Doctors had this week advised she needed a potentially life-saving blood transfusion - but her parents had objected on religious grounds.

The parents' opposition prompted the hospital to petition the court saying that, without treatment, the girl would die in a matter of weeks. In emotional scenes yesterday, the girls' father wept as he spoke of his love for his daughter.

But he explained that his family's faith prohibited blood transfusions. "We adhere to strict Bible principles and one of those is to abstain from blood," he said. "We want the best possible treatment for (her) and the hospital are doing a great job. The only thing we don't consent to is the issue of blood."

The hearing came almost two years after the court made a legal-first ruling to save a boy, 10.

Yesterday Justice White - who also heard the boy's case - said that treatment was in the girl's best interests. "Without a blood transfusion, there is a very high prospect that (she) will die," he said.

The father told the court that his daughter's illness became known to them about six weeks ago when she reported a sore leg and recorded a temperature.

However, doctors told the family it was a virus - and it was not until they took her to hospital on Monday that a diagnosis of leukaemia was formed. She said the girl was at risk of organ damage to her heart, brain and kidney. Even if the girl survived the leukaemia without a blood transfusion, Dr Ritchie said she could suffer learning difficulties and subtle cognitive and kidney damage.

Todd Golding, for the Woman's and Children's Health Network Inc, said Justice White should interpret the law the way he did in the 2010 case. He said: "The court is to act in what are the best interests of the child. "The situation factually, as is clear from the evidence, (the girl) has leukaemia from which she will almost certainly die. "It is in the submission of the plaintiff that she receive a blood transfusion as soon as possible."

Ken Gluche, for the girl's parents, said his clients "deeply love their child". "It's not like they are acting with callous disregard for her wellbeing or her future," he said. "Clearly it's their genuine beliefs, it's something that they've been convinced to accept by anyone else, by the church or other believers."

Robert Croser, for the child, said he had not formally interviewed his client because of her inability to appropriately instruct him. "Nobody on either side of the case wants (the girl) to die," Mr Croser said. "Neither (the father) nor his wife and the wider Jehovah's Witness church would treat (the girl) any differently if the court orders she have the blood transfusion."

Justice White handed down his decision immediately. "I'm satisfied that this is a matter that should be deter-mined urgently because (the girl) suffers from leukaemia and that requires urgent treatment," he said. "I'm satisfied that it is appropriate and indeed nec-essary for (the girl) to receive a blood transfusion. "I'm satisfied that there are no alternatives to the provision of a blood transfusion. I'm satisfied that it's in (the girl's) best interest to received the blood transfusion despite her parents' objections." He added: "Without a blood transfusion there's a very high prospect (the girl) will die and that the provision of a blood transfusion would reduce that prospect markedly."

Yeah so do I. I was a rhesus negative baby and had a blood transfusion when I was about a week old, it saved my life.

Which means, in order to remain blissfully ignorant (as well as in denial in relation to why so many so called "public service" ~jobs~ provide nothing useful to this country but rather are not only just a parasitical unjustified rent-seeking drain upon the tax payer but also prevent real wealth and prosperity creation by thwarting new investment in this country), you will not read the following either, yes ?

"We face the very real threat of a triple disaster. Europe in utter chaos, the US in recession and a Chinese economy that’s run out of steam ...

... we have all used up most of our fiscal and monetary firepower. In our case we had no government debt in 2008 and the budget was in surplus. Now the debt’s $150 billion - still relatively small - but the budget is $44 billion in deficit. The tiny surplus “promised” next year has been comprehensively blown out of the water."

Also, don't read this.

The socialists and socialism YOU vote for is well and truly starting to bear its poisonous fruit.

History appears to have taught you nothing ... but that is not surprising if a "cuz im not reading it" attitude of ignorance and denial is a common trait of the socialist left.

Anyhoo, what do you think Wayne Swan means by "a budget surplus" ?

Does he mean:

(a) Oz has paid off its credit card including interest and is no longer in horrendous crippling debt.

or

(b) Oz merely has (after blowing all its savings and racking up a huge debt on un-needed crap) finally managed to curb its spending and borrowing of many millions of dollars every day and at last start servicing its credit card debt and interest, albeit at repayment level that will take over a generation to pay off.

What/which say you ? ... and what say your friends and family, too ?

Are you/they of the uneducated / ignorant Oz folk who quite incorrectly think that when Wayne Swan says he'll return a "budget surplus", that he is saying that Oz will have paid off its massive debt and we're back in the black like in the days when we had sensible adults like Howard and Costello providing Real Government ?

... or are you/they folk who understands that what he means by "budget surplus" is merely getting to a state where more is coming in than is going out and debt can begin to be serviced ? That a "budget surplus" does NOT mean Oz is anywhere even remotely near to paying off its massive and currently ever increasing debt ?

Not sure ? Then perhaps this might help you work it out. :D

oh, and ...

Many people find it difficult to comprehend that the old Labor movement was gradually captured after World War II by a totally different idea – international Marxism.

The new Labor used the same words, but had never had a blister on their hands. They weren’t ‘workers’, or patriots, but international academics. They followed Marx’s belief that the Debt System would finally destroy Capitalism and deliver the Marxists a global slave state.

Karl Marx put it this way in his book Das Capital in 1867:
(Quote) “…Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more and more of expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and more expensive credits, until their debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks, which will have to be nationalized, and the State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to Communism…” (unquote)

This is fine by you, melly ?

... or would you prefer the following as delivered from the mouth of a 12yo girl re: the similar extremely unhealthy situation Canada is now in ?

[youtubevid]Bx5Sc3vWefE[/youtubevid]

Great that a 12yo girl knows about the fractional banking system, fiat currency, and "money as debt" and all that, but how sad for her to realise so young how she has basically been born already enslaved.

Ah, but I suppose this is all just more messy greek that you're not going to read or watch. :p

Police Minister Rob Johnson on why graffiti is a gateway crime to child pornography.....

http://www.smh.com.au/wa-news/perth-target-for-tourism-graffiti-20120604-1zri2.html

Perth is becoming a target for 'tourism graffiti', with a recent crackdown resulting in the arrest of several vandals from the east coast.

More than 100 spray cans and a range of weapons, drugs and stolen goods were seized in a series of police operations across Western Australia.

The four operations known as Operation Eraser began in February 2011 and according to Police Minister Rob Johnson have contributed to a 43 per cent reduction in graffiti offences in 2011-12 and a 42 per cent in costs to local governments.

Mr Johnson said the operation was an initiative from the graffiti task force, re-established by the government in 2008.

Mr Johnson said the task force had overhauled the way graffiti was targeted in WA, developing a state-wide strategy to clamp down on the offence.

However, he said he was unhappy courts were treating graffiti offenders lightly and not putting harsher sentencing laws introduced by the government into effect.

Last year the state doubled the maximum sentence for graffiti offences to two years with a maximum fine of $24,000.

Some of the initiatives from the task force have included establishing a Juvenile Clean-up Referral Program requiring young graffiti offenders to remove marks and tags on property; establishing dedicated graffiti unit within WA Police; and providing $2.45 million to local governments and non-profit organisations for graffiti removal and reduction strategies.

Mr Johnson said the focus on graffiti had also led WA Police to other more serious crimes and the apprehension of interstate offenders who saw WA as an easy target.

"It has become apparent that graffiti offending is actually a 'gateway' crime to more serious criminal offending including high-end crimes such as burglary, arson, robbery, drug trafficking, possession of weapons and child pornography," he said.

"This was highlighted by the fact that during Operation Eraser, police officers seized an alarming array of weapons, drugs and stolen goods from the homes of graffiti vandals."

Assistant Police Commissioner Steve Brown said police were also keeping close watch on retailers selling paint and graffiti paraphernalia to ensure they were following sales laws.

Unemployed bussed in to steward river pageant

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/jun/04/jubilee-pageant-unemployed

A group of long-term unemployed jobseekers were bussed into London to work as unpaid stewards during the diamond jubilee celebrations and told to sleep under London Bridge before working on the river pageant.

Up to 30 jobseekers and another 50 people on apprentice wages were taken to London by coach from Bristol, Bath and Plymouth as part of the government's Work Programme.

Two jobseekers, who did not want to be identified in case they lost their benefits, said they had to camp under London Bridge the night before the pageant. They told the Guardian they had to change into security gear in public, had no access to toilets for 24 hours, and were taken to a swampy campsite outside London after working a 14-hour shift in the pouring rain on the banks of the Thames on Sunday.

One young worker said she was on duty between London Bridge and Tower Bridge during the £12m river spectacle of a 1,000-boat flotilla and members of the Royal family sail by . She said that the security firm Close Protection UK, which won a stewarding contract for the jubilee events, gave her a plastic see-through poncho and a high-visibility jacket for protection against the rain.

Close Protection UK confirmed that it was using up to 30 unpaid staff and 50 apprentices, who were paid £2.80 an hour, for the three-day event in London. A spokesman said the unpaid work was a trial for paid roles at the Olympics, which it had also won a contract to staff. Unpaid staff were expected to work two days out of the three-day holiday.

The firm said it had spent considerable resources on training and equipment that stewards could keep and that the experience was voluntary and did not affect jobseekers keeping their benefits.

The woman said that people were picked up at Bristol at 11pm on Saturday and arrived in London at 3am on Sunday. "We all got off the coach and we were stranded on the side of the road for 20 minutes until they came back and told us all to follow them," she said. "We followed them under London Bridge and that's where they told us to camp out for the night … It was raining and freezing."

A 30-year-old steward told the Guardian that the conditions under the bridge were "cold and wet and we were told to get our head down [to sleep]". He said that it was impossible to pitch a tent because of the concrete floor.

The woman said they were woken at 5.30am and supplied with boots, combat trousers and polo shirts. She said: "They had told the ladies we were getting ready in a minibus around the corner and I went to the minibus and they had failed to open it so it was locked. I waited around to find someone to unlock it, and all of the other girls were coming down trying to get ready and no one was bothering to come down to unlock [it], so some of us, including me, were getting undressed in public in the freezing cold and rain." The men are understood to have changed under the bridge.

The female steward said that after the royal pageant, the group travelled by tube to a campsite in Theydon Bois, Essex, where some had to pitch their tents in the dark.

She said: "London was supposed to be a nice experience, but they left us in the rain. They couldn't give a crap … No one is supposed to be treated like that, [working] for free. I don't want to be treated where I have to sleep under a bridge and wait for food." The male steward said: "It was the worst experience I've ever had. I've had many a job, and many a bad job, but this one was the worst."

Both stewards said they were originally told they would be paid. But when they got to the coach on Saturday night, they said, they were told that the work would be unpaid and that if they did not accept it they would not be considered for well-paid work at the Olympics.

Molly Prince, managing director of Close Protection UK, said in a statement: "We take the welfare of our staff and apprentices very seriously indeed.

"The staff travelling to the jubilee are completing their training and being assessed on the job for NVQ Level 2 in spectator safety after having completed all the knowledge requirements in the classroom and some previous work experience. It is essential that they are assessed in a live work environment in order to complete their chosen qualifications.

"The nature of festival and event work is such that we often travel sleeping on coaches through the night with an early morning pre-event start – it is the nature of the business … It's hard work and not for the faint-hearted.

"We had staff travel from several locations and some arrived earlier than others at the meeting point, which I believe was London Bridge [pictured left], which was why some had to hang around. This is an unfortunate set of circumstances but not lack of care on the part of CPUK."

The company said it had spent up to £220 on sponsoring security training licences for each participant and that boots and combat trousers cost more than £100.

The charity Tomorrow's People, which set up the placements at Close Protection under the work programme, said it would review the situation, but stressed that unpaid work was valuable and made people more employable. Tomorrow's People is one of eight youth charities that were supported in the Guardian and Observer's Christmas appeal last year.

Abi Levitt, director of development services at the charity, said: "We have been unable to verify the accuracy of the situation with either the people on work experience or the business concerned.

"We will undertake a review of the situation as matter of urgency. Tomorrow's People believes strongly in the value of work experience in helping people to build the skills, confidence and CV they need to get and keep a job and we have an exemplary record going back nearly 30 years for our work with the long-term unemployed."

I think the minister needs his fucking head read........How can graffiti lead to porn?

Rob Johnson is a tool that's how. He lives in the dark ages and thinks if you smoke marijuana you will end up a heroin addict the week after. He is a poor excuse for a Police Minister and should have been turfed after the bushfires.
