In Defence Of Cat & Lawson

I disagree, Why would a 31 yr old woman try so hard with a guy knowing he is not only much younger but he also had a girlfriend. That takes some pretty hardcore commitment to still go after him to the point of winning him over. Really? All of that just for a fling in the house??...I don't think so.
Well I see what u r saying. However, you can also argue the reverse too.

Why would she have gone after Lawson despite knowing he has a gf? could be because...perhaps she felt as though she has a lot of feelings for him.

Was it all be just for a fling? Probably not..but... She seems to be very a emotional woman. Which could also imply that she based her actions on her emotions as oppose to rationality. For instance what happened in the sanctuary.. I'm sure the two of them has a bit of regret the following morning. We don't know though.. but they kissed anyway.

For me.. I'm thinking if a 31y old women was thinking rationally about finding a compatible life partner, why would she go after a younger man who has a gf and lives in Perth? So that's why I think she based her actions on emotions and hasn't thought about a proper future with him as of yet.

I don't know if the age difference is the significant thing here. It seems to be coming up constantly in any thread that touches on the Clawson topic, and it's one of the factors in their association that is discussed in a negative light.

I can understand that the Clawson relationship is a polarising one (for other reasons). But I'd hate any passer-by who happens to Google their way to this forum, to get the idea that this is how we all feel about age gaps in relationships. Or worse, any member who is in a committed relationship involving an age difference, to feel uncomfortable.

I know a woman married to someone 15 years younger than herself... and they have been married for over 20 years. And no matter what other people say about their marriage, she certainly doesn't see a toy boy when she looks at him... all she sees is her husband.

Do you think that Lawson having older brothers, some maybe around Cat's age, means that he is used to conversing or socialising with people older than his age group?

Probably. But I think age gaps matters when two people have different life goals. I'm sure he is interacting with her fine in the house. But once BB ends, kat might want different things to Lawson. Maybe she might want marriage and kids. Lawson might want to travel and not settle down. Yea..but yea we don't know.

That's possible... but it's just as possible that he was always going to have the maturity to feel evenly matched with someone older. It could just be part of who he is.

Fact number 64. It seems Cat is unsure about having children.

Older women go after younger men all the time. When it comes to relationships and love age is just a number. Sure younger women often go for older men for stability/maturity but when an older woman already has that herself it's not uncommon that she will go after a younger guy. Happens all the time.

I think we just have to agree to disagree. I think she's in love with him. But this is just my personal opinion of course :D

Oh, I am going to be so hated for this thread, but so what?
Sometimes you can't fight true love - maybe this is what Cat & Lawson have found between them?
Who knows for sure that Candice is really the innocent party, how solid to start with was the relationship with Lawson? How do we know that she wasn't the one who caused the initial split before the reconciliation on the eve of Lawson going into lockdown?
I for one think Cat and Lawson are great together, Clawson is about the only interesting thing in Big Brother 2014 - the producers would agree with me.

True love? you are truly delusional. How old are you? People who says that you cant "fight" or " control" who you attracted to needs some strong meds. There's certain things that has to happen before " love" comes along. When you meet someone, you can have a strong physical attraction, but thats called LUST, NOT love. Then comes the flirting, the touching etc etc. Just like one night stand, the penis dodnt just unzipped the pants and just SLIPPED. If you meet someone who you find attractive but already taken, you put your ass on reverse and back the fuck off. It's THAT simple. You think they look great together, ok, so if your partner looked BETTER with another person than you, then its a validation for him/her to cheat on you?

There is an interesting contrast to this from BBCAN this year. The winner, Jon who had a girlfriend outside the house, and the third place finisher Neda Kalantar, who he voted out so he could take a goat, Sabrina to the final 2 for a guaranteed win, were very friendly throughout the season and had a strong chemistry together, but never crossed the line in the house. It was difficult to tell whether it was a brother/sister type friendship or they were actually sexually attracted. On finale night however, you could tell that his girlfriend sensed something, was really pissed even when Jon won, and they broke up.

Once outside the house Jon and Neda started dating and are now, six months later, engaged. Thats the way to do it. They kept their hormones under control and never received any flak from the public...in fact they are probably the two most popular BBCAN players thus far.

Its the script Lawson and Cat should probably have followed. However the girlfriend, as in Jon's case would probably have been able to perceive that even if nothing was happening physically, something was going on mentally though it probably have spared her the public embarrassment and humiliation that the Lawson/Cat romance is now.

God I hope that all makes sense.

That is a pretty interesting game play.. Definitely should have been the script for Clawson.

All the moralising on this board does my head in!
Are Lawson and Cat really bad people?
Do we know the full picture of the relationship with Candice, how solid was it to begin with, maybe she cheated on Lawson before he went into the house?

Not at all. The problem is the mistake they are making is playing out before a large international audience on television where their friends and relatives can watch and we can comment.

You guys have short memories, remember Marty and Jess from Season 2 or 3 - he had a girlfriend on the outside, yet he was cheating on her with Jess in the house.
I don't recall much outrage about that at the time from anyone, indeed Marty was being eulogised by probably the exact same people hating Lawson right now.
