Ha!!!Killed the first one by scrubbing it with steel wool
In case anyone is wondering how to scratch the living shit out of it... THAT.
Oh dear! Did they give sufficient warning not to do that? Otherwise they should replace under warranty?Killed the first one by scrubbing it with steel wool

I dunno, I guess it's a learning experience. The coating all came off and it was deeply scratched. My fault totally, all it needs is a gentle wipedown really, not harsh scrubbing.
Haven't used Stonedone but I have the blue Flavorstone ones. For someone who used to struggle to cook an egg, they seriously are the easiest things ever.
Ha!!!
I am finding I am making a lot of meals that are browned in the frying pan, then finished off in the oven for 30mins. I have a Stanley Rogers metal handled frypan, and I can see no reason it can't be used. I am wondering if you need a special type of frypan or just a metal handled one.
Ooh yes the blue ones do seem cool, actually now I think about it those may be the ones Mike had that stopped working - maybe it wasn't just your vigorous scrubbing?
thats the reason I wanted to find one ... on the Stonedine page they say to wrap the handle with alfoil before putting in the ovenHa!!!

I dont have either one ... I think personally Id want to see them in a store and handle them ... get a feel for them ... no use to me if they are heavy .... then I'd go for the look ( not keen on the blue stone ones for instance ... cooking on a blue surface seems odd ... Cant explain where my logic is with that one lol ... and of course the price. So if I was going to get some... Stonedine, flavourstone...What should I go for?
