Can you hear the fire?

No But I can see the embers and ash, trying to hit my eyes

Hooleydooley you will be exhausted by now ... wont have slept last night watching and waiting ... i understand how scarey it is ... have been through similar
Keep in touch with yr neighbours ... above all listen to the advice the firies give you - they know and understand that beast of a fire better than anyone

Too True Crimmy, I was watching after getting turned back, and I never thought it might come here ...... I know people who have lost their homes in Yarloop - although it is 'unconfirmed' bush telegraph told me ......... Scarey Shit! They gave an advise tonight/this morning - most people might be persay - but I am worried ..........

The first real bushfire I have ever experienced was at the foot of Mount Coolum, and the roar of it was frightening.
now that is SCAREY - Scarey here as well, they are the firebullets here, that are flung to klms away happening here atm - you never know what is going to be hit and where ...... lots of dry grass around here, all different locations - no real gullys, just pastoral land - plains in a Scarp........... Eastery Winds, with a touch of a Northerly or Southerly just stir it all up :(

The township of Yarloop was going to get it - and that is s sad :( Timber town taken out - the winds were not in the favour of that place -they kept changing and on track - so fucking SAD .... :)

Stay safe Hooley. Xx. And your pets too

It gives him a thrill to be able to point it out. So you have inadvertently done your 'good did for the day'. Except of course donating blood is a little bit better... But anyway.... I was wondering whether perhaps we should all start making intentional slight mistakes that will keep him occupied/but possibly drive him nuts. Just for sport, you know. Like he does. Maybe it IS super fun...
Ha, I reckon it would drive me nuts first, however I see and like your view on it.

Thanks Shadow it is all really sad - a friends parents have lost it all, although it is all not confirmed atm - but we know it has :( I think I will be OK here, but I am ready to head off. I still think it is funny, that I tried to do a holiday runner and didn't make it!!!!!!!!

We will wait and see what happens tomorrow - it is really hard to know where to go - to head north to Perth (long way away to get there now) - but we can head south east to Esperance (closer trip now) or even Sydney where I want to end up, anyway :)

Can not compare to losing a Loved one xxxxxxx

Houses and towns can be rebuilt. As long as everyone stays safe, everything else is fixable.

Good luck today. Hopefully you have stillness and cooler temps.

Yep they can, as long as those dont think about what is lost.

Yeah - looking forward to stillness and also sleep ...... and no baggy eyes (chilling some spoons)

It's just stuff.

As long as no lives are lost, stuff can be restuffed.

We as Australians are generous in heart when it comes to natural disasters. Once the ash has settled, help will come.

Right! I am feeling 78% better!

Time for me to don my togs, leash up my dogs and head to Mudjimba!!

Have a great day, and stay safe, Deb!

Wow stay safe @hooleydooley - I have absolutely no idea what this is like or what you do next but for sure the most important thing is for you and your dog to remain safe.

I knew someone who survived the bushfires in Victoria in 2009 and it was so chilling hearing her talk about it. She described the heat and thick black smoke and how she couldn't see anything and could barely breathe but said that she somehow remained calm throughout as she assumed she must have already been dead. She obviously survived as did her family and even her pets.

Please stay safe! It must be daunting having that uncertainty.

Be careful! Hope things improve over there today.

Ugh IKR?! I don't work especially hard throughout the year but I have really enjoyed this break and having the time off, I don't want it to end!!
Can't believe 3 weeks is gone already and I have to go back to work on Monday
oh shush both of you!!! I've been back at work since Monday whilst husband was at home this week and goes back Monday - he's been going nuts stuck indoors with all this rain (and I really wasn't doing a nasty little happy dance at all - I'm not that spiteful ;)
First sign of the sun yesterday and he rushed to the beach only to find it filthy and dumpy so no swim for him ... but I'm pretty sure he's headed back today

Enjoy your last few days of holiday ... by the end of next week holidays will probably be a distant memory

If pretty things amuse small minds, then today was a winner!

First off my Mother's Day present from last year produced enough flowers for a vase jam jar:-

Then I noticed with absolute delight that Laurie quietly produced his first flowers overnight. Thinking of you brought an acid tear to my eye, @shadow2. Xo

Oh it's beautiful. Doing ok. The grief comes in waves. But I'm ok, and mum and brothers are good. Had some laughs in here and some :jawdrop::jawdrop:
