Sooo, I have myself a little situation in real life. Something that I haven't really worried about until yesterday evening. Years ago an ex work colleague and at the time a friend, did some inappropriate things at work,and I had to make a statement. He was eventually sacked. Since then he has sent me a few messages via fb, more intimidating messages not threatening. But last night, he made mention of my dog. He must of seen a pic of her on fb. He is not a friend on Fb,but I noticed that he has a few mutual friends of mine. (Work colleagues not friends really). I thought my settings were pretty private. Not sure whether I should be concerned or not. It happened 6 years ago.

Oh that's sucks. 6 years is a long time to be stewing over something. If it's intimidating and threatening to the dog perhaps it's right to report it to the cops?!?

:( You have to make sure your setting are "friends only" & not friends of friends. I think with mobile uploads you have to do it on each photo? Can't really remember & fb changes it's settings allllll the time :(

Can you report & block on fb too? or just block him? It's not right at all, just don't know if the police can actually do anything until actual harm has come :( Keep screen shots & a diary/records of the contact too, incase you need them later. What an absolute weirdo :(

How strange/scary. I'd say block this person to stop them seeing your content or being able to contact you, but I guess that doesn't get rid of the problem altogether. It might be good to contact the cops about it just to have a record of it, not sure if that's appropriate or could exacerbate things, but they might be able to help you. I'm not sure though sorry. Yeah I can block him but I did a search and he has a few profiles.

Your settings are a bit lax. I could see a few of your pics before we became actual friends. As you know I don't even have an add friend option. And if I have not added you as a friend and you send me a message, it goes straight to an Other folder.

Only my friends can see my stuff. Personally I would block him. Bad enough to have obsessed stalkers follow you around online let alone letting them into your real life.

Oh I thought my privacy settings were pretty tight. I'm going to change the settings and unfriend anyone who is a mutual friend of his. On one of his profiles, he has 6 of my friends as his friends which I just found out. The message that I received last night was on a different faceless profile.

@Trala - they are getting rid of the 'other' mailbox on Facebook. So now people who aren't friends will have to send a request to get your permission before being able to send a message.

That sounds all well and good until the situation arises for example for the need of a one off contact between you for whatever reason.
Don't worry anyone on here, apart from Kismet, I don't any of your surnames to bother you on fb. :)
 
I'm watching The Late Late Show with James Corden and he really is annoying. I'm not going to tell a good friend of mine that as he's her first cousin. James was one of the authors of Gavin and Stacey on the BBC. Anyway, that aside, Roseanne Barr is on tonight. She's looking good, although her hair is a smidge long for that style imo.
 
I hacked my hair today .... I have been growning out my fringe (bangs) that I have worn since I was a child .......

Anyway, I didn't like the look of strands of hair hanging around my face - so I did a trim .......

Heading to the Hairdresser for a tidy up in the morning LOL


BTW - I Think I look better with a fine fringe on top!

That link will give you the heads up.

You can make your pics private, where only your friends can see them, but you need to click the option.
