I couldn't get it to work so "sadly" that's going to have to happen lol.
A likely story. j/k

You have to hold (or keep on pressing it continuously) the green open button unless you have a different system which would have a different layout obviously. The one in my garage is an ATA SecuraLift.

Layout of buttons is similar to this:

The button you had to press is the one with the green arrow and Open on it.

Does anyone know if it's posible to open an automatic garage door manually? Have lost power due to this horrible weather overnight and can't get the car out. Maybe a good excuse for a sickie lol.

I know on mine there's this cord thing that apparently you have to pull to manually lift the door - the problem being it hangs above the car and there's nowhere to get leverage while the car is in the garage so I think sickie or a taxi would be the option depending on how guilty I felt about having the day off lol.

Oh my God!

You're The Bourne identity aren't you?!

Side note: I am always so amazed when posters are so super wary of sharing details of their lives, their first name, or a picture with people they interact with on a daily basis for years on end.

I just don't get that.

And for the record Jordan, I am easily the most cyber threatened member in here. There is apparently a whole PM posse who love to discuss my evil cuntish qualities. I have had threats of getting my nursing registration suspended and had threats of physical violence to both me and my family, and nothing has ever come of it, and do you know why? Because people who need anonymity and a keyboard to make threats are as dangerous as a fanny fart.

Haha some people take what is said online so seriously. Threatening your job? Wow - reminds me of a few years back on a site I was on having a disagreement with someone. They actually knew my name, looked up my phone number and called my husband asking him if he knew what I was saying online haha. He didn't give a crap of course and told them they probably deserved it but still was over the top feeling like they had to take it that far.

Yikes that's crazy. Like, literally.

It's beautiful day sunny in Melbourne. Although the price we had to pay for that was a bitterly cold morning just shy of 0 (around 3) Celcius degrees. Overcast skies act as a blanket of sorts during the night so when there isn't any the temperature plummets overnight.

:coldfeet:
It was very fresh walking up and over Punt Rd hill at 530am. Not particularly cold at all at 7C.

Yeah, mines a different system. It has one button on the box (the one to open it) but it's not opening as much as I push it. Thanks though :)

There's no cord on mine @Insomniac but I did find a lever thing poking out the side at the top which im going to investigate. A lot of roads are blocked so I don't know how I or a Taxi would go anyway but I'm going to try and get there given when I called in they said a lot of others couldn't make it for similar reasons due to the storms. I work in a hospital so all hands on deck are needed. Last resort I'll take the train and just hope I don't get knocked out by a falling branch or power line on my way to the station lol.

Well be careful if you do head out, sounds nasty down there!

You're all so posh with your garages haha. I have to park my car in the street and actually a branch fell on it last night.

Geez, hope it wasn't a big branch!

Is it bad that I'm glad it's you southerns getting the wild weather for a change.

It was decent size but there doesn't appear to be much sign of damage, so that's good. Admittedly the last thing I wanted to do when standing in the rain was stop and inspect for dings. I'm getting a new car in a few weeks though so I guess it's not a huge deal.

Yes you can take joy in our weather, that's ok. Please don't tell me it's pure sunshine and rainbows up there though!

My power is out and they are saying it could be until later in the week to get power back. Approx 75k houses and businesses without power on the coast.

A tree fell on the lines across the road and broke a couple of power poles.

No reception on my mobile (virgin mobile), Telstra Internet on iPad is intermittent.

Gah!

Yikes! Stay safe! Mine is out too.
