Favourite & Least Fave HM's From Past and Present

Lets not go off the deep end here. I get the point you're making but Ed does not qualify as average. Best you can say is she chose a different type of hot guy. That's like saying Jade is average because Tahan got more praise for her looks.

Yeah, just responding to this idea that Con thinks Ed is better looking than Drew. People have different tastes, and it seems most people think Drew is better looking. Each to their own.

Well I'll be damned! Thanks @delcan, didn't see the day that would happen. But to put it out there, early on post bb certain comments got under my skin, 7 months or whatever it is, logic will take over for many and the like and dislikes of hms fade away for some.

Just to throw caution to the wind... When certain people are called charming, does this not take into account that there was a level of flirtation that was involved? Given there is wit and humour in describing someone as charming, there is a level of flirtation for some charmers. So say we take out the wit and humour, all you are left with is flirty. Might not be as charming but it still holds one of the qualities of a charming person. What I'm getting at, would it have been more acceptable to flirt if there was wit and humour involved? See recently I was told I was a charmer because I apparently am flirty- I never even thought that about myself. I asked hubby if he thought I was with others and he he said yes. I asked him why he never said anything and why it doesn't bother him. Being the good man he is, he said I don't flirt the same with them like I do with him, so no big deal. I am not touchy with others, so it's just charming without the over charm I guess. Throwing more caution... Jade was touchy and feely some would describe so maybe that was viewed as over the limits. I remember one scene where jade looks like she mounted matts back to give him a massage and I was like, c'mon! Boundaries people! Boundaries! I started to see that she was overkill at times with the flirting. Though I don't call it that, not sure what to call it actually. Point is- We all have a level of what is too much flirting, not all are the same. I never found the flirting with drew that bad. They were both made to make others believe they were a couple and that is the foundation of their interaction in the house, being touchy and feely. And that's how they carried on afterwards. How does one just act like they do with others when you have treated this person differently from the beginning? It's a weird situation they were in and I can understand the interaction between the two.

To throw more caution to the wind, the jade victim card annoyed the shit out of me, so I feel as uncomfortable reading that drew was some kind of victim because of jade right now. He is a big boy, he will be fine. He was getting affection from tully and jade so I can't say he was vouching for jades love and devotion either. It was what it was. Besides drew admits he is some kind of flirt, I'm sure he understands when someone is flirting with him and nothing more.

Everyone has a different line, but I think everyone should have the line where you don't flirt with someone who has feelings for you if you don't have feelings for them. That can be a miserable experience. That was never Drew, as I said before, but I think some of the people who felt for Drew believed that was the case. I think some people saw Drew as if he were Tim Brunero, someone who had actual feelings for a beautiful girl that he did not really have a shot with. And worse, she was flirting with him, making it even tougher to deal with. Not actually the case, but what I think some people believed that based on their posts that I saw.

I see where they were the coming from, I guess I see it from the point of view that drew was flirty too and that the basis of their interaction started by them being this way due to a task, was just putting out a different opinion. Didn't mean for it to be as harsh as it sounded. But the irritability in me comes out when I see the victim punch line or I just perceived it that way anyways. I'd feel like a hypocrite if I didn't acknowledge that because that was the one thing about jade that I never understood. She was never a victim, just like drew is not either. That was the point of my post I guess. But some people did miss the point of cons post too, and that was in jades eyes Ed was the more attractive one and she judged based on her opinion of hot or not, which is what posters are trying to say, which is why they view her as shallow. And for a lot of it, I agree. But drew as this poor boy who doesn't get the girl doesn't sit well with me. It's victimising when their relationship has always been flirty with one another, it wasn't a one way street for me.

I didn't see it as harsh, I agree with what you are saying. I didn't think I cam across as disagreeing with your posting, just trying to add something to the conversation. Like I said, I never saw Drew that way, but I believe that some people did. Not a majority perhaps, but that underlying theory has merit, even if it did not apply to Drew in the house. I was more talking about flirting in general rather than Drew and Jade. Everyone has a different line about flirting, but I believe a common line should be not to flirt with someone who has feelings for you if you don't have feelings for them. Because, like I said, for the person with the feelings that can be miserable. Especially if you can't get distance.

I never felt for Drew, firstly because I never saw him as having actual feelings for Jade and secondly because its tough to feel bad for someone who has women falling all over him 364 days a year. Guy didn't get the girl one day and everyone is like "Poor Drew! How will he go on?"

I didn't think you were disagreeing with my point and I did think you were offering a different point of view to how I read a post :)

I agree with don't flirt with someone you know has feelings for you. Or at least don't use it for power to have your way. That would suck! Yeah never felt sorry for drew being 'rejected'. There wasn't any true love feeling between the two. They realised that themselves anyways. Obviously there was an initial attraction or at least on drews end. But that's as far as it went for me. I still think tully set the idea in motion that drew was being played by jade mind you. If she didn't get so involved, I don't think drew would have thought anything of it. But that's a different matter all together

With all due respects, I certainly see you as treating Tahan the same way as you are saying others treat Jade. I just hope you realise that there is clearly more Jade fans around on this board still then, for example, Tahan fans - does that mean it reflects the majority in society? No. It's just this forum, maybe take a leaf out of @Sweetgeek's book, she comments supportively on Tahan's post sand doesn't feel the need to be angry towards other HM's and she doesn't let other posters comments get to her. We all relate to HM's differently, and it's usually due to personal experience. I know I don't like Tahan because she is beautiful and confident and not afraid to tread on people's toes - I am the opposite. It's pretty obvious from all the comments that you are blaming rejection in your life on "Jade", or what Jade represents in your mind, because of your fixation on the rejection aspect that you perceive Drew received from Jade. When to most of the rest of us, we see that Jade was not Drew's type at all, which I think is pretty obvious by him pursuing a woman in a relationship above Jade from the second it was revealed they weren't married. They are both flirts, it's not a crime, but neither is worse or better than the other. They are just human

I think only a liar or a hermit would deny not having been in a situation were their affection/crush have not been reciprocated. You can believe whatever you want, that's fine but my dislike of Jade would still stand regardless of whether she was attractive or not. FYI I'm not particularly attracted to Jade and share the same sentiments that Matt did in the show, something about her face or something. lol I'm sure you remember me making childish disparaging remarks about her looks as you seem to recall with great clarity everything I post. :D

Bottom line is I have little tolerance for Jade's her self absorbtion in women in real life and therefore react accordingly in any setting, I view them in a dim light. Others like yourself don't see that self centredness as anything major and prefer to focus on her other aspects of her personaltiy that make you be a fan of hers. Whatever, to each their own and let's leave it at that.

Yeah, just responding to this idea that Con thinks Ed is better looking than Drew. People have different tastes, and it seems most people think Drew is better looking. Each to their own.

I don't know where you get this idea from. My comments about Ed and Drew are from Jade's point of view. I'm a straight guy, I don't get a boner from looking at any guys besides Geelong footy champions that is, whom I'll love them forever and ever for their amazing match winning feats.

Jade on the other hand clearly gets her panties instantly wet whenever she lay her eyes on some toned muscles (i.e. Ed) in guys. I'm sorry if my facetious comments were miscontrued as genuine. :whistling:

@Inigo Montoya, I only remember so much about it because it was/ has been discussed to death prior to this. I think the drade "breakup" was the one of the biggest upsets for so many and even now it is being discussed. I even admit, it sucked at the time. That's why I remember it all so well.

Showmances don't interest me at all. I do remember having to skip over a lot of posts in the "Post BB....." thread that mention anything to do with Jade/Drade/Tully&Drew.

Its easier to remember considering I have only seen 3 series (04, 05, 13)

Pretty sure you mean Michelle in 05. She had her own problems when it came to flirting with male house mates and copped it for it. Although if I had to guess, the dislike would be more about the bitchy, complaining, self entitled behaviour.

Don't flatter yourself @Connoisseur -can I suggest instead of ruining unrelated threads, you just start a "I hate Jade" thread or similar?
Posters asked me questions....I answered as honeslty as I could without hurting fans of certain hms feelings. If you've got a problem with that then I suggest you find a way to deal with it, I can't help you. :)

First impressions are always the most memorable. My opinion of Jade was formed very early on and it's what I recall most vividly from her time in the house. Don't remember much of her from mid-way onwards as I couldn't stand her being in the house anymore, couldn't wait for her to be kicked out which I never got the satisfaction of seeing.
