Estelle appreacian thread (i can't spell)

We are unable to change the behaviour of people but we certainly can do something about ourselves.
This thread has shown a wonderful support for Estelle which was great to see.
There are only 2 paths as far as I can see the right way and the wrong way, there is no way I could excuse the bad behaviour, although I do try to understand it (without much luck).
For some reason some forum members accused us for putting Estelle on a pedestal, thinking she could do no wrong!!!
That wasn't my intention but the accusations came through, words get twisted and the meanings get lost, strip away all the dramas and heresay.... Estelle was a HM who wasn't treated very well and was constantly bitched about, that in my book is not acceptable.
I'm surprised the HMs who wanted to be so good and positive actually showed us more bad and negative.

It's simply behavior that is not ok. Even if you could quantify it as not bullying, it is the sort of behavior and the sort of attitude that it's ok to act like that towards others which leads to bullying.

It was something that seemed to come up a lot in those trying to argue about whether it technically wasn't bullying. There was no real recognition of the simple fact that the behavior is wrong.

Yeah true, whether its seen as bullying or not that behaviour is wrong! It was disgusting to see Estelle be taken advantage of for being a nice girl it was horrid.

She would have won if the faces werent shown

I was thinking that as well. Early on she was up for nomination and the HMs are told how many points each gets (which they shouldn't be I think) and Estelle at one point got about 19. That probably made them think that she should be evicted and cemented the idea that she just didn't fit in. But I suspect the roots of the pack nominations were tactical more than anything. Once someone had been up in the past they are the easy vote if you want to prevent yourself being put up. But the tactical nature of the voting then probably got confused more with the personal. Some of that is probably inevitable on Big Brother anyway, but it didn't have to be at the extent it was. I really think the producers needed to mix things up, they did the red/blue task but it was far too late and not really followed through for very long anyway.

But the HMs while have to realise that the public is a big part of playing the game as well, you can't just ignore their considerations. Estelle understood that better than others, and that seemed to annoy them.

I wonder with the constant saving of Estelle, that her fans had also spent most of their coin and towards the end had not much left to give.

Yeah I think her staying became a symbol of their lack of control over the show. So they then focused in on wanting her to go.

I also think the largest factor was that she wasn't one of them, and so it was ok to nominate her. To be mean to her. She wasn't as wonderful as them or deserved to be there. The whole second class housemate thing that went on this year.

I recall Stacey imitating Estelle and saying.... yeah the stella? what did she call them, the stella gang... hey Ben, what did Estelle call her fans something like the stellagang? (not word for word but as best as I can remember).
Ben couldn't recall.
So yeah, I would say Estelle's fan base was a thorn in the HMs side.... and yeah, it's the Stellahood!!!!!

I think that was the hardest thing for the HMs to accept.... the voters!!!!

Michael did a big speech to the HMs back in August putting Estelle down for various things and that got the dislike ball rolling, Sarah wasn't keen on Estelle either and was constantly talking to other HMs about her.
The more talk about someone behind their back the less chance of defending themselves and before you know it.. 'you're not one of them'.
I just wonder how things would have been different if the school yard tactics had not been played, perhaps Estelle would have been one of them and she might have been voted off alot earlier, just like Sarah had, the HMs were very surprised when she was evicted, they loved Sarah!!!!
 
BB failed in their duty of care imo. "No bullying here" Alex kept saying.

My supposition: the shrink watches back some videos remotely from her Brisbane office and signs off on non-intervention citing Estelle is "resilient", her favourite word.
 
From the tweets and the instagram pics Estelle could already have blown that five grand on partying!! I was just as bad at 24, but it took its toll and I paid a price. Hope she has time to escape the madness, do some detoxing (like she says she wants to) and maybe get back to some healthy horsey action away from the tempations and distractions that come with fame in the big city! Not that she looks rough or unhappy or anything yet.
 
Think she will get signed with a talent agency? want her to stick with her uni but she has so much potential she could do anything

I agree starry.

The revealing of the tally definitely set the tone for Estelle's downfall, not the mentality of her fan base (as some have said previously).

Other hindrances: complacency amongst her fans, the anti-Estelle movement (which saw huge growth after Zoe and Michael's eviction), HM's campaigning against her, etc.

Cold hard math. :)

It depends if she wants to keep in the media in some way, I don't think she probably does but we'll just have to see. Either way there's been some great memories anyway (in what for me wasn't the best of series).

Yeah she doesn't seem like the kind of girl who would give her uni studies up for media work
 
Just wanted to send a Christmas wish to all the Stellahood out there.

What an engrossing season in it was in 2012. I've never yet had my favourite HM win the season, why should 2012 have been any different!

Looking forward to seeing you all again in 2013. I wonder if we'll share a favourite HM next season.

I'm so happy. This is all I wanted from all the $$ I spent on her :)

Anyways she's also the most followed housemate on Twitter too. She also told me she had thought she was the least popular person on the show as when she came out, ALL housemates had more popular than her and the media weren't very nice. Aw poor thing <3 Little does she know how many fans she had.

I know this is crazy but I have been watching Estelle and a few of the others on twitter and last time I looked (a few weeks ago) she was way behind Stacey, Layla, Michael and Josh in her number of followers. How on earth did she suddenly get such a massive boost in numbers?? Anyway, I am really happy for her as I was a supporter of hers. She seems to be doing okay.
