Estelle appreacian thread (i can't spell)

Did you see that thread Kaz started before she left? It has a picture of a straight jacket, implying that Estelle fans are nuts. It was like coming into someone's home and doing a crap in their loungeroom just before they left.

It was for all fans who went overboard. Me included.

What a surprise you would say I was only meaning Estelle fans.

But you guys can have the first fitting.

Here is the thread.

Seriously? She's back? Which thread?

Come to think of it, that's not a bad description of what Ben did in the house just after he won. Did you see how he just had to steal some hair products and stuff them into his bag? What kind of a person treats their host like that on live TV?

It depends on the personality whether or not forums bother reality cast, much like if tabloid press blatant fabrications bothers celebs.

Reality cast, rightly or wrongly, ending up as villains like Ben are generally mortified (he won't be because he's too narcissistic to care) when they are yelled out in the street. It's personal. The anti-fans hate them (even though it was just a construct). There's been a few reality tv nervous breakdowns/suicides.

You don't get this issue with actors. An actor plays a villainous character, say in a long running series. Sometimes the public confuse the character with the actor but the actor can just brush that off... stupid confused fan.

Actors do get it when their personal lives become public... Aniston (saint) Vs Jolie (villain).

Positive fame can be tiring. For years Michael Caton endured several "You must be dreamin'" hollers a day. He was very gracious about it though. Don't be shitty to fans...

Well fame obviously has advantages and drawbacks but anyone who seeks it would realise that in most cases. And reality TV fame isn't at a high level for a long time, unless the person involved continues to be in the media spotlight. In most cases people will get recognised less over time, also I suspect negative comments will die down as most aren't so petty as to hold a deep grudge for years. They will still have some fame from their time on the reality show and that won't be completely forgotten by those who are big fans of that type of show, but I suppose most people don't fall into to that category.

Agree. Reality 'stars' I know/have met have been recognised years on. It's just that the fans don't have much to say anymore. It's the "weren't you on bb. Oh yeah I remember you."

I suggest the majority of actors/performers/musos/journos/presenters consider the fan issues as the 'price' of their craft. An occupational hazard.

Reality is different inasmuchas I suggest the majority are seeking fast-tracked fame and public-facing career. It irks their counterparts that have done the hard yards. A couple of months of lazing about participating in a bogan Olympics and they get a radio show. Particularly revolting are the stunningly talentless (Snooki case in point) that somehow make a motsa out of it.

Although the flipside is that the HMs they don't do anything beyond their 15 minutes of fame earned a piddly $500 to a maximum $3K (barring the top three) for working 24/7 to make content for a ruthless network with the risk of copping quite a bit of shit when they get out.

Another thing as well which might increase is people discovering someone later with internet streaming or downloading. I only looked through series 7 and 8 recently, so the HMs and what happened in those are still fresh in my mind. Obviously most people will only look at the show when it was originally on but some people could be exceptions in the future even if they may be a very small minority.

Where do you even find back issues?
