Doctor Who

Well, as much as a DW storyline can be..... I want the return of the Daleks (hopefully a whole planet full of them along with some nasty motherships roaming time/the universe) to be believable.

We've surely had too many comebacks now so like Burns says, I expect it to be good. Only person who could do this would be RTD.

Except Rose used the power of the Tardis to wipe the Daleks from existence blah blah blah.

Unless of course there's ANOTHER void ship out there blah blah blah.

You know ... they've been extinct or on the brink of extinction now for three years. But wait! Let's pull ANOTHER amazing come back out of the vortex! Way to go RTD!

I can just see RTD pushing through all those "spoilers". I mean let's face it, if he can pull it off it'll be some of the biggest stories in the history of DW and he leaves on an absoloute high and whoever comes along after him won't be able to top it.

Wow Burn is it just the Daleks you hate? Or RTD? The thing is with Sci Fi they can usually bring people back from the dead so to speak, but remember the Daleks were a constant in the old series, as were the Cybermen, and Sontarans....or is your frustration the attempt to make them more human in the Manhatten episode? That pissed me off also....

....however I like RTD and his episodes so far, well except for a couple....argh Love & Monsters lol I don't think the spoilers will actually happen, but changing the outcome of the Time Wars would be devastating I hope he doesn't mess that much with the timeline. But there must be some other Timelords out there, apart from........you know who.....i still can't get my head around that there are no other timelords around, i always enjoyed those episodes in Galifrey, imagine never going back there again.....

now i stopped watching Dr Who a little way into Colin Bakers reign, i just got too silly and over the top for me, so i guess we have our faves and we have our dislikes but if we all liked the same thing it would be dead boring :)

What Funninonebabe you never saw the great, fantastic  episode
with the Kandyman. The absolute worse baddie ever.. Worse even then
the Absorbaloard from L & M.....

what episode was that meerkatM?

Oh hang on i just looked it up OMG,that is why i stopped watching i knew that was coming, i mean i'd expect more in the 80's that is more a thing from the 60's, now if RTD brings back that one i am definately giving up on DW lol

I love the Daleks.

I just don't like what's being done with them.

The first season of the new series we find out that they've been wiped out along with all of Gallifrey. THAT was big, THAT was moving.

Then there was "Dalek". The last Time Lord meets the last Dalek. Again, a very moving episode and a amazing tribute to the Daleks, and frankly, a great way to end their legacy.

WHOOPS! No can do! The Emperor survived, barely. It was plausible though. It took him ages to resurrect the Dalek Empire and we were treated to the Tardis defense systems unleashed, a battle to end all battles with the result of the Daleks being wiped from the universe. They literally went out in a blaze of glory!

ahhhhhhh but but ... we just gotta squeeze a little bit more life out of them! Turns out there's a whole new level of Dalek, a secret cult of them in fact who just happened to be hiding in the void! Okay, that's a bit dodgy but the Cult of Skaro! This is so cool! These Daleks are taking the scare factor to a whole new level!

Oh wait, wipe out the regular Daleks again and allow the Cult to escape. Too damn easy, but hey, it looks like we've got a great new villian in Sek to look forward too!

.... aaaaaaaand we all know what happened there. But uh oh, one Dalek has escaped AGAIN!

Four seasons, four miraculous come backs from the dead (i'm factoring in next season here). Yeah, it happens in sci-fi but to that extent?

Sure there were times in the old series that we were lead to believe the Daleks and even Davros were dead and they kept coming back. But it wasn't every year!

I just think RTD has pushed the Dalek stories too much. And don't even get me started on the butchering he did to the Cybermen.

but changing the outcome of the Time Wars would be devastating I hope he doesn't mess that much with the timeline.

And that's what i'm worried about. Four years of great "The Doctor is the last of the Time Lords" stories just wiped out. Sure you know who's return was great and they did a great job of telling the sadness that both faced, but that whole storyline was ruined with
ANOTHER miraculous come back to wrap it all up in 10 mins!

I know i've been grumbling a fair bit lately and I do apologise for that. But there's just so much in the DW universe that could be explored but we keep getting miraculous come backs from the Daleks and it's getting old fast.

At least we have a planet full of Ood to look forward to. :D

The Kandyman was the Sylvester McCoy Doctor. He imobilised him
wit what i think was hot syrup on his foot. What a stupid bad guy?

Ah the Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker era... If only it was a bad
drug trip :)

I found the series 2 figures in Toys R Us today.

Snaffled a Cyberman and an Ood.

Feels weird buying a figure that doesn't transform. :p

Series 2 contains Grey Krillitane, Werewolf, Cyberman, Clockwork Man and The Ood

:(Tonight's episode "human nature" was good ..

Well right up to the end when they said "to be continued" and
I wanted to see more :(

Not too sure about the Deus Ex Machine of the TARDIS in this one though?
Howcome non eof the previous Doctors could do that?

Second time watching this, I missed this little bit the first time.

Directly after the opening credits and they have the wide shot of the school, is that Bessie pulling up to the front door? :D

It did look like Bessie. But wasn't the one the Doctor had one he had
built himself?

Also did he have Bessie and the Whomobile inside the TARDIS? How
did he get them out?
