...I bet that Peter Capaldi feels just great about that... not!... I would be really peed off if I was Peter in reading that... to be honest with you all... I never really liked Matt Smith that much as The Doctor... he was too 'flippy floppy' as if he was trying to be more outrageous as The Doctor than Daivd Tennant... I wouldn't mind a couple of cameos on the odd occasion but that's about it for me I'm afraid... 81% in favour of it?... what is wrong with people?... they obviously like him more than I do... cheers.

I think Matt Smith was great. However, HE relinquished the role of the Doctor, and someone else great took over, and that is that. It's unnecessary to talk about regrets or what might have been, and it's unprofessional on Moffatt's behalf to express "disappointment" that Smith didn't stay.
Capaldi is the current Doctor, and the current Doctor should always be the one who is allowed to bask in the glory while it lasts.

.,..aw man that was a good post there Meglos... almost every word of that I agree with... I wish that I had written it (except for the "I think Matt Smith was great." bit of course ;):whistling::biggrin:)... but you are so right... Matt gave it away and Peter should be able to bask in the glory... you're such an ignoramous at times Moffatt!... cheers.

Thanks Mr Sticky. Out of curiosity, is Matt Smith your least favourite Doctor?
If you like, can you rank them all from 1 to 12 (or 13 if you include the War Doctor)...
I'd be interested to see what your opinions are compared to mine, because I know you love the show but don't necessarily read all the books or listen to all the audios, so your views would be based entirely on the tv show.

I have no idea where we're headed with this, but I hope it's not TOO comedic or out there.

Hehe, not rude at all, thanks for taking the time to answer.
Very interesting list, good to see new series Doctors holding their own against the classics.
My list changes slightly now & then. For example I'm up to the Pertwee episodes now and I'm enjoying them far more than ever before, so he has gone up slightly in my estimation.

It looks like Peter Capaldi is here to stay for now. Which I'm happy about :)

http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2016/08/peter-capaldi-staying-put-with-doctor-who.html

Peter Capaldi looks set to continue beyond the upcoming season of Doctor Who.

Departing showrunner Steven Moffat told the Doctor Who magazine, “I have no reason to suppose that I’m writing out a Doctor.

“Peter is loving the role, and long may he do so.”

Season 10 is Moffat’s final before handing over the reins to Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch). Filming has been underway recently.

The news follows from Capaldi leaving things a bit open ended in an earlier chat.

“I’ve been asked to stay on, which is lovely – and I think Chris Chibnall’s fantastic and a wonderful choice [but] I haven’t made my mind up,” he said previously.

“You’ve seen him go through all those different colours and all those different places,” he continued. “So where he goes now – in series 10 – I don’t know, but he’s been put through the mill.”

Doctor Who returns with a Christmas special later this year.

I was watching 'The Green Death' the other day (the one with the slimy maggots), and I thought it was interesting how they did Jo's departure. By that i mean how she moved on in a way through going to work with Professor Jones. I just thought that kind of low key departure was interesting compared to how it seems companions have to be either killed off or sent to an alternative universe to leave the doctor.

Noel Clarke - ie Micky/Ricky, I love him, well he is successfully making rather awesome movies, premiere of his latest, the final in a trilogy. Very talented.

With his cast of Brotherhood.

I think we saw the 2nd film, and didn't know there were more. Excellent - great for teen boys.About ex gang member trying not to go back to that life.

A year since season 9 first aired! What an outstanding season that was to watch. I hope the next one will be just as excellent.

I also want to re-watch series 8 and 9 just to analyze the relationship between the twelfth doctor and Clara Oswald. Because from what I remember it really was quite interesting.

...we've done our time and have been punished enough now Moffatt... put Doctor Who back on now you arsehole!... you had no right to deprive us of this bloody brilliant show for an entire year as you have done just because you're too busy producing other shows you selfish twonk!... thank god that you are leaving the show... there was no reason whatsoever as to why you couldn't have just handed the show over to someone else straight away as far as I'm concerned... you are a selfish moron!... :punch::rage::madd:...

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!... I feel so cleansed now... I wish that it would return soon...my withdrawal symptoms for new episodes are getting out of control... I see the repeats on Foxtel all the time and just love them but we need NEW EPISODES!... we really do... cheers.

So, here you go @Mr Stickyfingers and fellow fans, we may not get the Doctor, but we do get CLASS very soon...

Class is an upcoming British science fictiondrama series, and a spin-off of Doctor Who. It is created and written by Patrick Ness, who also produces alongside Doctor Who showrunner lead writer Steven Moffat, and Brian Minchin, who acted as producer on Doctor Who and two of its previous spin-offs, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.[1] The first series will consist of eight episodes, set to premiere on BBC Three on 22 October 2016.

they probably won't do this for season 10, but i had this idea for a storyline. somehow Davros and the daleks find gallifrey and it is up to the doctor to try and stop a second time war.

...it sorta seems like it doesn't it?... they've slowly re-introduced Gallifrey into The Doctor's timeline once again so it wouldn't surprise me at all Reepbot... being that The Moff likes to have story arcs over several seasons wherein they loop into the present day stories you have to assume that he intended to have Gallifrey be prominent in more than just one or two stories for that arc to work so your theory sounds quite probable methinks... good thinking my friend... cheers.

Thank you. My thinking with that is that it is Moffat's last series and he wouldn't want to bow out limply. He would want to end his time with some heavy emotional drama for the Doctor. Although a second time war may be a bit too obvious. I don't know. What I do know is that having a three parter at the end with Capaldi desperately trying to prevent another time war would be amazing. Would he need to call on his previous incarnations (Tennant and Smith?) to help him stop this catastrophe? And what about Missy who was last seen still in Skaro? Maybe she temporarily joins forces with the daleks to find Gallifrey?

Though I wonder if we will ever get a resolution to this?

...I found this little snippet to be quite humorous... although I would've thought that Tracey Island (Thunderbirds) and the Red Dwarf (Red Dwarf) would've been higher on the list to be honest... I could live in both of those places easily too lol!... from this website below... cheers.

Britons have voted for Doctor Who’s Tardis as their favourite home on TV, beating mansions, castles and central New York apartments to the top of the list.

Perhaps we Brits just have a penchant for good and efficient storage space. Not to mention time travel.

The research – conducted by Yale – put Downton Abbey’s Highclere Castle in second place and in third was the white mansion Southfork Ranch which featured in the eighties drama Dallas.

The dream: Highclere Castle

But in reality, most Brits say their digs actually resemble Victor Meldrew’s house from One Foot in the Grave.

The Tardis even beat Rachel and Monica’s apartment in Friends, and the most famous address on the list – 221B Baker Street, London – home to Sherlock Holmes.
