...hey all... I'm back from the coast and can finally talk about the Doctor Who Christmas episode so here goes...
...'Carol singers will be criticised' lol!... a great start to the episode... River Song asks who The Doctor is and he replies... "people usually need a flowchart!"... he says her name... she tells him never to say her name or... "I'll remove your organs in alphabetical order!"... he replies... "which alphabet?"... when he discovers that she has another husband he then says... "I'm going to need a bigger flow chart!"... lol!... I love it!...
...King Hydroflax eh?... I loved it when he was listening in on River Song and The Doctors conversation all the time while talking about decapitating him and then he says... "perhaps you should've just asked!"... and then removes his own head lol!... River Song's 'Sonic Trowel' was funny funny funny!... "how dare you talk to me like that!... I'm you wife!"... says River after being caught red handed after plotting to decapitate him... The Doctor dropping so many clues to River as to who he is and she doesn't realise who he is was so great!... I loved what was happening there...
...Matt Lucas's little bald head looked so funny sitting atop that giant mechanoid suit lol!... when River said that 'The Doctor' had never noticed that she had borrowed The Tardis many times before was quite a revelation wasn't it?... and when The Doctor said... "now it's my turn"... just before he walked into The Tardis to do the 'it's bigger on the inside' routine speech and said at the end of it... 'that's how it should be done!"... sort of statement at the end cracked me right up lol!...
...so River Song is 200 years old?... another revelation!... while she was talking to The Doctor about the little blue book of hers she talked about him in a way that shows that she really does love him I thought...that guy opening up his head was a fantastic effect... when all the people turned around to show that they were all the same was a great moment... especially when it was revealed that they were all Hydroflax devotees lol!... boy weren't they in a pickle from that moment onwards!...
...I was really moved by River Song's speech about The Doctor... she really does adore him doesn't she?... when she finally realised who The Doctor was it was such a great moment... especially when he was the one that said... 'hello sweetie'!... "Cleopatra... Marilyn Monroe... Queen Elisabeth the first... Stephen Fry!"... all the names that they were rattling off with who they had relationships with was as funny as... (I imagine that Stephen Fry would have been laughing his head off at that mention lol!)...the only reservation that they had for the restaurant was in 4 years time and The Doctor says... "no problem!"... hahaha!... he then gives River a new 'Sonic Screwdriver' to replace her 'Sonic Trowel' lol!... (was that the one she had in that 'Library- hey!... who turned out the lights?' episode with Donna Noble and that little girl I wonder?)... and why oh why were the 'Sonic Sunnies' back?.... especially when he had a 'Sonic Screwdriver' too?... I didn't get why he had them both... have I missed something?...
...when looking at the 'singing towers' River reveals that when they are together looking at them that it says that it's the final times that they are destined never to see each other again... you're all not going to believe what I'm about to say but... but... but...
I hope that it isn't the last time that they ever see each other!!!!!... yes... I said it!!!!...
I hope that it isn't!!!!...
I so loved River Song in this episode!!!... (yes... I am so fickle aren't I?)... she won me over... I now love her character again!... (I know... I've disappointed some of you haven't I?)...

lol!...
...I have to tell you... my sweet dear wife and I went to our daughters over the last 2 and a half days for Christmas and I booked the TV for Doctor Who and told everyone that they are to stay out of my grandson's room while I was watching it under the penalty of total 'E-X-T-E-R-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N' if they dared to interrupt me... the only exception was that they could watch it with me if there was
total silence during the whole show lol!... one of my 18 year old and one of my 13 year old grandsons decided to come and watch it too... neither of them had ever watched an episode of the show at all... the 18 year old knew about The Doctor and The Tardis and the Daleks because of some of his mates but as I said... neither had ever watched it...
...they were both totally gobsmacked with the show... especially when that guy opened his head up... there were 'oh wow!' and 'awesome!' types of comments...they stayed for the entire episode... all we talked about while playing billiards afterwards was all things Doctor Who lol!... it won them both over with the youngest telling his parents that he wants to see the past episodes of the show since it's reincarnation... they only knew about The Tardis and the Daleks from hearsay and from seeing the ads on TV...
we now have 2 newly converted Whovians!!!... that is the appeal of this great show... it covers all generations...
...getting back to the show... Capaldi and Kingston really carried this episode so well... hats off to the two of them... Matt Lucas and Greg Davies were great support acts... although I expected more of a higher profile role from the both of them to be honest but hey!... who am I to criticise lol!... I never thought that I would ever be writing these words but as I said before I sure hope that we see River Song in future episodes even though this episode more or less kills that prospect off doesn't it?... I so enjoyed seeing her vulnerable side of her character... it was such a change... what a great fun episode... now to watch it yet again once I've read all of your comments first... I'm dying to read what you guys have said about it... cheers.
