Everybody's ears are stinging,
At the sound of Strax's singing.

That's the problem with getting good actors, the buggers always want to go do something else. It's waaaaay too soon though. Presumably we'll get a new companion next year, it would be too sudden to change the Doctor again until at least two seasons of the new dynamic.
Do you think these thought are based on the fact that Jenna left? Apparently they had a really good relationship

...I think that Capaldi will do at least 2 more years to be honest... even if it means letting him take time off to do a movie or a show elsewhere to satisfy any need that he may have to do something else too... it may even result in less episodes for us per year but I'd rather that than losing him as The Doctor altogether... he really does need to do at least two more years as far as I'm concerned... you all know my thoughts on a female Doctor so I won't even go there lol!... he may be feeling the loss of Jenna as you say BigBrotherCritic which is making him think like that so it's quite understandable as to why he is saying that... (unless he's looking for a pay rise of course lol!)...

...when Carl Anne Ford (who played The Doctor's granddaughter in the original series) visited the set Capaldi exclaimed with a lot of enthusiasm that she should return to the series... I would love to see that... even though she is 75 I would love for her to come back into The Doctor's life... even if it was just for 2 or 3 episodes... but that's just pure wishful thinking on my part... what a great storyline that would be... to know how her life panned out after she left The Doctor... just saying... cheers.

I spy a patched together cut & paste piece of - hey you do a bit on Doctor Who
Read this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...enes-of-the-Doctor-Who-Christmas-special.html

...and get the ACTUAL article and not a cut and paste 3rd hand piece of opinion, it gives you a much more measured piece with 1st hand contact.
This guy, hasn't read the Telegraph, instead uses edited quotes out of context from a very brief Doctor Who World Wide blog, maybe 2 paragraphs, 2 short quotes are taken from the Telegraph ref above.
The blog, http://doctorwhoworldwide.com/2015/...ts-series-10-could-be-his-last-as-the-doctor/

The original article is a long piece about Christmas, and the writer speaks directly to Capaldi. Capaldi speaks almost wistfully, he is aware of detractors.
He has previously said he might stay forever, interesting point 2 & 3 leave out, he is recovering from knee surgery so likely feeling old.
Apparently Matt had the same operation and injury!

(I haven't told you this but I used to write for a magazine, one thing I did was review movies - mostly before they had been released since we were monthly. Cut and paste from press releases, with a bit of flourishing stuffing, voila:). I wrote a jazz column, ha, ha - the jazz club dictated to me, I have no clue and detest what I have heard of jazz. :) )

Capaldi seems to say something different every day, once it was he may stay for years, then it was he wanted to do more episodes per year, then he wanted to fit other things in. The Telegraph thing seems reflective and ratings have been down a lot in UK.

Anyway, good news, apparently 2 of the new writers "will blow our minds"according to Moffat.
One has been almost confirmed as J.K Rowling:)
I hope the other is Peter Jackson:):):)
Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Where have you read about JK Rowling?

A few forums are running with her, because she was planning on writing an episode before, it is not as almost confirmed as I first thought, but a strong contender.

And I didn't know Steven Fry had already written an episode - it didn't go ahead due to costs, his idea was too expensive apparently

Moffat... "If i told you the names your brain would explode..."; "...brilliant, prominent and amazing writers".

...Merry Christmas all of you wonderful Whovians... thanks for all of the great posts throughout the year... you guys really make this my most favourite thread because of all of your great input into it... it's not long until the Christmas episode and I am so looking forward to it but I won't be able to comment on it until a couple of days afterwards because I'm away... I hope that it's a great episode... anyhow... have a wonderful Christmas and stay safe... again everyone thanks... Merry Christmas!... cheers.

I have recently finished watching Eccleston's series and are a few episodes into Tennant's series. Sarah Jane just came into one episode and I gather she was pretty popular in the older series.

I really like Rose Tyler. I think I'm enjoying Tennant's over Eccleston's also.

I've got a long way before I could call myself a whovian, but I'm enjoying what I've seen so far :)

Glad you're enjoying it @bleachy_dude
Starting at the Eccleston episodes and going all the way through is a great idea. It's such a diverse series and I think you'll get a lot out of the positive outlook (basically good usually wins over evil, and with the Tennant era especially, love beats all).
