Crikey.

There's something I need you guys (do you hear me Mr Sticky?) to analyse for me after you've seen this episode.
I've watched a certain bit back half a dozen times and I can't understand what's being said. I hate it when i miss a joke or important reference but I think they threw this one away.

I liked that line too.

The bit that has me stumped was right at the start after the opening credits, where the Doctor is talking to O'Donnell, and she says something about Rose, Martha and Amy. I've listened to it over again and I can't make out what she said.

She was basically saying it didn't take them long to get used to the TARDIS conditions I'm pretty sure, Not 100% though

That would make sense, thanks.

...I managed to work out exactly what was said guys... this is the conversation with O'Donnell... The Doctor starting first...

..."where's Bennett?... we need to get going!"...
..."oh he's still throwing up... one small step for man... one giant blurgh!"...
..."Time travel does that sometimes!"...
..."somehow I doubt that Rose, Martha or Amy lost their breakfast on their first trip!"...
..."you seem to know an awful lot about me"...
..."I used to be Military Intelligence etc etc"...

...there you go my friends... mystery solved lol!... I loved these two episodes... especially when The Doctor spoke direct to the camera and talked about the "Bootstrap Paradox... Google it"... lol!... I loved the close-up detail of the bookcases and other furniture as he was walking along the second mezzanine floor because we rarely get to see them all that close up...

...as I did before I watched last weeks episode again just before I watched this one... both episodes gelled together so well... the special effects of the Dam bursting was spot on as far as I am concerned... it was a great story all up... the twists and turns kept me guessing and I loved the idea that they used an actual deaf actress to play such a major part in it... and Neil Fingleton that played the 'Fisher King' is actually Britain's tallest man!... did anyone notice that when The Doctor did that emergency warning as a Hologram in The Tardis that he had shorter hair and the original suit that he wore when he first became The Doctor?... he must have made that scene way back then methinks!... check him out in this image below...

...when Moran was behind Cass the deaf girl with that axe it was really nerve wracking knowing that she couldn't hear him approaching... at least people that can hear have a chance against impending danger eh?... it was great how she could sense some sort of vibe so she placed her hand on the deck of the ship to feel the axe scraping on the floor... that was such a great scene for me...

...fantastic stuff indeed... all in all... I loved the whole story!... The Moff did say that The Doctor and Clara were going to be having great adventures this season... so far he hasn't disappointed me at all... there is so much more that I could ramble on about but I'll leave it there methinks... cheers.

...well guess what?... the rumours were true... Alex Kingston is returning as 'River Song' **sigh**... no doubt there will be more 'hello sweeties' and ' spoilers' over and over again... if she doesn't say those words again I would probably be happy with her return but if she says them all the time I will go mad!... lol!... here is the article below... cheers.

Alex Kingston is returning to Doctor Who as River Song for this year's Christmas special

Spoilers! Alex Kingston will return to Doctor Who as River Song for this year's Christmas special.

The festive special will begin shooting this week, with Douglas Mackinnon directing from a script by Steven Moffat.

A plot teaser for the untitled hour-long adventure reads: "It's Christmas Day in the future and the TARDIS is parked on a snowy village street, covered in icicles, awaiting its next adventure. Time traveller River Song meets her husband's new incarnation, in the form of Peter Capaldi, for the first time this Christmas."

"To be honest, I did not know whether River would ever return to the show, but here she is, back with the Doctor for the Christmas special," said Kingston. "Steven Moffat is on glittering form, giving us an episode filled with humour and surprise guest castings.

"I met Peter for the first time at Monday's read through, we had a laugh, and I am now excited and ready to start filming with him and the Doctor Who team."

River Song has appeared in 15 Doctor Who episodes to date, most recently 2013's 'The Name of the Doctor'.

The character's relationship with the Doctor is complicated by time travel, with the pair meeting up at different points in their personal timelines.

"The last time the Doctor saw [River] she was a ghost," said Steven Moffat. "The first time he met her, she died. So how can he be seeing her again? As ever, with the most complicated relationship in the universe, it's a matter of time."

More cast for the Doctor Who Christmas special - confirmed to be airing in its traditional December 25 slot - will follow in the coming months.

Wow, thanks Mr Sticky.
These were the bits I understood from that scene, thanks so much for translating the rest!
..."where's Bennett?... we need to get going!"...
..."oh he's still throwing up... one small step for man... one giant blurgh!"...
..."Time travel does that sometimes!"...

..."somehow I doubt that Rose, Martha or Amy lost their breakfast on their first trip!"...
..."you seem to know an awful lot about me"...
..."I used to be Military Intelligence etc etc"...

As you can imagine it was exciting to hear about Rose, Martha & Amy, but incredibly frustrating to not know WHY, lol.

Glad you loved the 2 episodes, it's four for four great episodes this season for me.

Sorry you're not looking forward to River Song, I still love her and it should make for a fun Christmas episode.
I wonder how Clara will leave, or if we'll meet a new conmpanion in the xmas episode.

...haha!... no worries Meglos my friend... to be totally honest with you I don't actually mind River Song at all... (in fact... I think that she is as sexy as hell)... but it's just that The Moff continues to use those two lines over and over again which grate on me because of it's repetitiveness... give her new material to use and she would probably be great... let's face it... Capaldi's Doctor is not a 'touchy feely' type of Doctor so her flirting with her 'husband' is not going to be anything like it was with Matt Smith is it?... so hopefully she will be sort of 'reinvented' in some manners and actions possibly?... either way it's going to be some interesting dynamics between the two of them regardless methinks!...

...I'm hoping that John Barrowman makes an appearance in some future shows too to be honest... if he appears alongside River it would add another dimension to the whole shebang too... especially if it's in the Christmas episode which are usually fun episodes to watch anyway... imagine Missy amongst that crowd and I would be totally stoked!... lol!...

...for some reason for which I don't fathom as to why but I don't think that Clara will be in the Christmas show... I feel that she will leave about halfway to three quarters of the way through this season... it's just a gut feeling but that's what I think... I'm hoping that her replacement is Osgood... imagine her meeting Missy again after having been killed by her?... this show is open for so many 'what if's' isn't it?... that's what I love about this show... so many different tangents and directions to twist and turn plus the added extra bonus of being able to do it in any Timeline whatsoever!... those sad idiots on Gogglebox have no idea of what they are missing do they?... lol!... cheers.

I'm feeling grumpy, and a bit pissed off with Moff - shit writers cannot be brief.
Too many 2- parters, it is just sloppy writing and editing.
He needs to piss off and play with Sherlock and the rest of whatever he does - too much to focus on DW properly.
I am sorry but I feel having a part-time show runner/writer who is morbid is pissing me off.

And when I can guess too much of DW, it's going down in standard.
And I think Moff is going to get the sack - he is losing viewers hugely in the UK.
And he is now making me dislike Clara, she is becoming a pain, and I love Clara.
I love Capaldi, but I think he is floundering a little, with too many twists and holograms and I just get the feel he thinks some of this is stupid, give me better writing.
See he is in the Musketeers starting this week:)

Worth noting the deaf lady is the very first ever real life deaf person to act in DW.
Maybe I am just a grump - but I am missing having a complete story each week, I can totally escape into that kind of adventure, when I have to wait a week, and not get around to remembering what came first, grumpy me.
And I will tell you guys why I am sad now, I find it hard to say this, I lost my brother & soul mate.

@KIK I'll just say here that I'm sorry for your loss, i replied a bit more in the other thread. I hope you can enjoy DW a bit more as the season goes on, I'm enjoying it but I can see how it might be a bit depressing/frustrating when you have other things on your mind. Take care and feel free to grump all you like.

...I'm terribly sad to hear of your loss KIK... there's never really much that people can say to you to ease the sorrow but I'm sure that you will eventually bounce back with time... as Meglos said... take care and feel free to grump all you like... every bit helps... cheers.

This bitch can fuck off, the only Spoiler I want to hear is her death.

...hahaha!... jeez BigBrotherCritic you need to stop beating around the bush and just say what you feel my friend!... lol!...

I'm hoping with Capaldi's older colder Doctor there will be no kissing.

Yeah, but River..............Capaldi doesn't stand a chance of escaping her clutches

...I'm hoping that Capaldi just tells her straight from the outset... "there will be none of that nonsense... different Doctor... different man!"... after all... HE didn't 'marry' her did he?... she's a total stranger to him as far as any form of intimacy goes isn't she?... I think that he'll handle her with ease... anyhow... he's a tad bit older and more wrinkly that Matt Smith so she might be seeing him more as a dad than a husband anyway from what I can forsee... we'll just have to wait and see I guess... lol!... cheers.

I do have to say, I was extremely creeped out by the Ghost Doctor, especially when the Translator to the deaf girl person walked through the group of Ghosts... Jeez, Pretty creepy!

Do we know who the original Doctor is from River's point of view? The one she first meets?

I missed quite a few of the Matt Smith episodes.

Romance is what you will see, poor Peter - he is only 5 years older than not so sprightly Alex.
Capaldi = born April 1958
Kingston = born March 1963

I think he is aging rapidly because is face is so narrow/thin - but sometimes he looks quite youngish.
Do you remember him when he was young and cute?
In that funny Scottish movie.

And lovely news - Sir John Hurt has been given the all clear after his cancer treatments.

Ooo just realised we get to find out the mystery of Masie/Game of Thrones girl next.

And the Doctor is not doing well in the UK ratings, however it has been still getting over 4million up against the Rugby.

...wouldn't it be weird if Maisie is the daughter of Matt Smith's Doctor and River Song's?... lol!... or even more obscure... what if it was his granddaughter Susan's child?... now THAT would be a mind blower wouldn't it?... lol!... (I think too much into this show methinks) lol!...

...that's great news about John Hurt isn't it?... cheers.
