Thanks Meglos, the memory is creaky - but clear too, the Escher stuff is what stuck, I loved it.
And the memory is more about gazing at the weird things going this and that way rather than looking at any Doctor.

And Peter was my favourite Doctor until DT, so maybe I fell into watching more consciously about then.
I mean Doc Who was on every night in our house all through my childhood anyway - my large much older brother ruled the tv.

Ooo I loved that too, all the ducking and weaving was hilarious.

RTD's cooky bits were such fun.

Sticky - that Escher like image, is that your work? And did you base it on a Doc Who episode from Tom Baker's era?

I have a vivid memory of seeing an Escher type Doc Who episode with Baker, and that being when I first began to appreciate Doc Who as a kid.

Anyone know what that episode is called? I want to rewatch it.

...on the 'Deviant Art' website is an artist by the name of ICPJuggalo1988... (on this website)...

http://icpjuggalo1988.deviantart.com...tairs-39525011

...he created the background of the stairs based on the original MC Escher work... he said that anyone is free to use it if they wish... which I did... I added everything else within the picture... there are 50 references to Dr Who in it if you count the weeping angels and antipodes separately...

...as Meglos said it is 'Castrovalva'... all the episodes of Castrovalva can be seen here...

...they're in 10 minute clips but it shows all the episodes involved in that story including the original regeneration of Tom Baker into Peter Davison... I really enjoyed watching Tegan... she was one of my favourite companions...

...when I did the picture I wasn't aware of the Castrovalva episodes until Mud Cake told me about them... it was just pure coincidence that I had done it... I only saw those episodes after I hunted them down to that link above to watch them... what great episodes they are!... lol!...

...as with the rest of you that scene with Donna and the Doctor has to be one of my favourite Dr Who moments too lol!... cheers.

OOO thanks for that link, thank you very much :) -Saturday night viewingand there isn't a thing on TV.

...by the way... I only just realised this today while I was surfing the net... did you know that 'DOCTOR WHO' is an anagram of 'TORCHWOOD'?... I didn't know that... did anyone else realise it?...

...another little snippet... 'ASTRID' is also an anagram of 'TARDIS'... cool eh?...

...I'm going to keep an eye on future character names from now on lol!... cheers.

...a quick update on what I mentioned before about the 'Doctor Who/Torchwood' anagram... from this source...

...this little snippet... interesting shit eh?... cheers.

When the first series was being made, television pirates were desperate to acquire the preview tapes. One of the people in the office had the idea of labeling the tapes with the anagram "Torchwood" rather than "Doctor Who", as a security measure to disguise the tapes when they were delivered from Cardiff to London. Writer Russell T. Davies liked this idea so much that it later inspired him to use it as a title when creating the spin-off series, Torchwood.

^^ One of my all time fav Dr Who moments. Hurry up November!!

That is one of my all time fav DW moments too. Donna is probably my favourite companion ever.

She was so wonderful - I put her on a different level, she's an almost doctor, and special star companion for me.

And then there is Rose, who is my ordinary favourite.

I went off Rose when she came back with a lisp. Nothing against lisps, but Billie obviously didn't care as much about Rose as we did.

Yeah what happened there? How do you just develop a lisp? I wondered if she had those dental braces that are behind the teeth instead if on the front but I never really knew.

I read or saw an interview with Billie and she said that she thought she had acted Rose with a lisp. Can't remember if she said what I'm about to say or if I just thought it, but she should have watched a DW DVD before returning. Lazy.

...a little something that I've been working on for the last few weeks just for my own leisure to celebrate Doctor Who's 50th anniversary... I've sent a copy of it to 'The Doctor Who Magazine' to see if they're interested in using it in their 50th anniversay special but I think that I've left my run too late to get it into there... to be honest I didn't think that it was going to take me over 3 weeks to do it otherwise I probably wouldn't have been bothered to start it lol!... anyhow... here it is... cheers.
