There were lots of good bits in the finale but overall I wasn't that thrilled with this season. The last season was better.

I guess the Silence will be an ongoing villain for the next season or two. That's OK as long as they don't beome "monster of the week" fodder. After all we still don't know fully who blew up the TARDIS or why in particular they chose Amy to lure the Doctor.
 
Thought Matt was wonderful, quite lovely acting in this.
But................hmmm.
Well, it's a shame they are axing confidential, as i often need stuff explained that wizzed by and stuff gets got garbled or mumbled.

Well I miss RTD spectacular finales, but I like some of Moffat's intimate stories. I would prefer a bit of both.

Moffat just seemed to go around in circles at times, Amy is being exiled or tortured AGAIN, and again and again.
Here is what I put to you, with RTD there were distinct different types of episodes and doubles, different planets, monsters, historical, and comedy eps - OOD being my favourites- all memorable, as oh the one with.......eg the gasmasks, the statues, the whatever..........

Moffat.....it's all a bit of a blur, of interiors and Amy getting sucked up somewhere, and some quite weird resolutions, Amy's baby still pisses me off.

That I think is Moffat's fault. He does great stand alone episodes. "Blink" for example but he struggles with ongoing arcs. They should have had someone else to run the whole series plot to plot ....
 
I thought it was fantastic, but he (Moffat) is a different kind of fan to me, I'm more similar in my tastes to RTD. Moffat seems to think certain things are fantastic & keeps re-using them - timey wimey reset buttons, killing people & then unwriting history so it never happened, the re-use of characters who didn't impress the first time (does anyone really think that Dorium warranted 2 re-appearances this season? Moffat is obviously in love with him, but i couldn't care less).

So those are my negatives, but the rest of it, i loved. Matt Smith is awesome, River Song is awesome, Rory is awesome, & Amy has progressed from clingy to awesome. So that's enough awesomeness to keep me satisfied. I hope the Doctor gets some new friends next time though, the River arc is over.

Ooh not quite..... I think they still have to have one or two more meetings and one where he tells her his name, as she did mention that in the Library episode. Moffat even admitted to that in the Confidential.

Now wasn't Amy in black with a gun and eye patch awesome?
 
Yeah she did, so what happened to her being a famous model signing autographs? Was that some other reality?

I will allways love RTD for the crazy John Simms Master, he was freakin awesome and those big bang finales............I looked forward to the wild ride.

Is this Doc ever going to see Cpt Jack?
Enough of River for a long while.
 
I think a meeting with Jack is likely. He mentioned Jack and Rose Tyler, could be setting something up?

I think in that fractured universe mk 2 Amy created that perfume "for the girl who waited" and was the spokesmodel as well.
 
I guess I am going to have to skulk around in this thread till the Celebrity Photos and Silly Royal stuff is restored and/or recreated :cool:
